If you are one of the way too many people who are having s**t luck in these economic times, feel free to b***h about it here. =3
Personally, I've been having no luck whatsoever on the job front. I've put in application after application and there just seems to be nothing. It's frustrating as all hell... especially when you consider that the ******** who got us into this mess resigned and got severance packages more suitable to royalty.

I am having a hell of a time finding a job too. I've applied at pretty much everything in my field (office support). I haven't really been looking into retail because most of the retail jobs around here are 1)part time, 2)don't pay enough and 3)are easier to fill by someone with little experience so they fill up really fast. But ugh, yeah. Something needs to turn around somehow. And somehow I don't think giving bonuses to corporate fat cats is really the way to turn things around.

Yeah... that's my problem with most of the places I see. Part-time or not high enough pay for what I need. I have been applying for retail at places like AT&T and Sprint, which would pay more than something like Game Stop, which was an awesome job back in the days I worked there, but I'm not a kid anymore and need something that will actually let me support myself and my hubby.
... @ that last sentence. All hail Sen, master of compound sentences.

Oh geez. *headdesk*
If anyone gets government money to help with the economy, it should be businesses who are going to use it to actually HIRE NEW EMPLOYEES. Or at the very least use it to keep the employees they have and not have to lay off any more people.

Seriously... AIG doesn't deserve anymore money. At all. I've been advocating for the bailout money, because if too many big companies die then it will cause a lot of problems, but I think it would be best if AIG just jumped off a cliff. ¬_¬

Yeah. They're a good example of what NOT to do with bailout money. It's called a bailout, not make-the-rich-richer.
Blah. Economy stuff gets me all angry.

I haven't had the problems of which you speak. I'm currently in college and since I've never had a job (besides a work study job) and neither has my mom really, I get lots of grant money. (I got a scholarship for next year though, so they'll be reducing it. >>) I'm safe in my bubble. >.< For now at least. I'm scared about the job market when I'm done. Since everyone is fighting to keep jobs or has lost a job and has nothing else to do, they're all going back to school. So in the coming years, there will be a ton of newly graduated people looking for jobs.
But I do agree to the best of my knowledge about how shitty this economy is. It was kind of refreshing to see shitty businesses finally go under. Places that were eye sores, like the scion dealer (who just moved their cars to the toyota across the street). But now far too many are going under... It's really bad. What's gonna happen to people, if they can't pay bills? D=

There's already tent villages in places like California... My hubby and I lucked out. We got evicted from our apartment in Washington (gods, I miss it so), but we had people who could take us in... He's with friends, I'm with my family. *sigh*
Reason #1 why Sen wants a job so badly at the moment: So she can live with her hubby again. @_@ Stupid economy breaking up families...

I live in Canada and I know there are some effects up here. My friend lost her job at this travel agency and my friend who moved to London with his cousin, well his cousin I think was having trouble finding work.
I don't work, and my dad still has his job. He doesn't discuss his money with me and how he's doing with bills, but I know we're at least surviving just fine. I know there are some habits I need to work on though to help with the money. All in all, my situation doesn't feel that much different from before this whole economy crisis thing.

Must be nice to be a princess. xP I'm kidding! *patpats Ia-kun*
It's good that your family is doing well-ish. I hope it stays that way.
Thankfully my dad won't ever lose his funding, so my mom and he are fine. I guess that's one perk of him becoming permanently disabled in Vietnam...

Well, in some ways I have had things luckier... or perhaps simply different. Everyone has a different life anyway and there are finer points to my life that I don't discuss with people so they don't have the full picture. You know, the idea of being out on the streets is scary, but if my dad ever lost his job I'd honestly be way more worried about how he would be doing you know?

Well, I wouldn't worry about it at the moment. You're good, and that's what matters really... right?
