Welcome to Academy X

Two years ago, in the 620 Universe, human and mutant relations seemed to be getting better on the planet Earth. That was until the horrifying events that occurred six months ago. One fateful night, after a long absence from the limelight, Magneto appeared above New York. Finally driven to insanity, he unleashed an attack on New York which killed 2.5 million innocent civilians both human and mutant.

The X-Men, Fantastic Four, Avengers, and any other hero in New York City fought Magneto and his Brotherhood back and stopped them from doing any more damage. This was not the end of the conflict. SHIELD, a United Nations sanctions organization, found Magneto and his Brotherhood to be a threat. When Magneto and his team fled to the Island of Genosha, SHIELD unleashed several Sentinels with a seek and destroy order. The citizens of Genosha would not allow for their leader to be destroyed. Five million mutants died in this conflict as Genosha was scorched and left for rubble. Magneto was presumed dead.

Despite Magneto being presumed dead, the human vs. mutant conflict was escalated to the highest peak. Mutants were hunted. Children were cornered.

It was time for the X-Men to act. For many years, the Xavier Institute served as a home and school for children and teenagers who desired to learn about their abilities and train to be X-Men. No longer. To look impartial, Charles Xavier stepped down as head master of his school and appointed two opposing mutants as headmasters: Scott Summers and Emma Frost.

The Xavier Institute (or "Academy X" as newer students call it) was now open to all students as a safe house. Even if students didn't want to become X-Men or even if they did not share the Xavier view, the Xavier Institute would protect and teach each student equally.

"Academy X" was now open to everybody.

Over time, those students who joined the Xavier Institute as a safe haven grew to learn their powers and skills. They fought on the front lines defending their lives from villains such as Sugar Man, Fitzroy, Mystique, Mr. Sinister, and the Hellfire Club... they took their blows and stood strong. No longer were they just students, but they were becoming something more... they were becoming X-Men.

Trouble doesn't find them. They find trouble.

-------------------

What to do in your character's first post:

All new characters will have been a student at the Xavier Institute for six months to a year. Because they have shown exceptional skill above their peers, they will be promoted from their student team to one of the Junior X-Men teams (this was assigned to you upon application approval.) The first post of the character would have them talking to either Scott Summers or Emma Frost about their promotion. Their dorm room would also be moved to the area where the Junior X-Men students are housed.

What is the difference between the Alpha and Omega teams:

Technically there is no difference between each team in the school; however, the Alphas are traditionally the "good guys" who believe in Xavier's ideals. The Omegas are traditionally more rogue/bad boys and fall more into their own ideals of how things should be done. This is not always the case, though. You don't HAVE to make your character take those views when on either of those teams.

Alpha wears a black uniform with blue detailing. Omega wears a black uniform with red detailing.

------------

Story XII Summary

One year after our last story... our students are faced with a promotion that will change their lives. No longer are they just students. They are now X-Men.

User ImageAlpha: Reflections of Yester Year

Some things never change as time moves on.

One year had passed since prom and since Scott Summers and Emma Frost decided that the New Mutants and Hellions teams should be junior X-Men. Evie was now the leader of the X-Men Alpha team. They were given a trust that no other students were given. They were no longer the victims of random incidents. They were now sent in to stop incidents from happening.

Evie still found comfort sitting on the roof of the barn looking out at the Institute around. She was now moving into the Fall Semester of her sophomore year of college. Seems like high school was forever ago. Seems like lighting the world on fire with Reikon before prom was another lifetime. Seemed like the day when she was just a mutant with sensory powers was another person. In a year, she learned what that rage was inside.... she learned what the animal was that she contained.

Taking a running start off the rooftop, she lay her body out in form for a perfect swan dive into the pond waters below. She didn't expect Sam Guthrie to catch her this time. He was no longer on watch for high school students pulling stupid stunts. She also made sure that she was alone.

Sometime in the last year, she learned to will her body to release the animal inside. Swimming through the water, her hands stretched before her and contorted in shape. Her body shifted, mass changed. It pained her, but it also was releasing something that had been dormant. Her mind seemed to shift and yet she retained her identity.

User ImageComing out of the water was no longer Evie per say.... it was her, but it was her beast within. A sleek and beautiful (although sopping wet) wolf paddled up out of the water. Standing on the muddy bank next to the pond, she instinctively shook her fur so that the water sprayed into the air.

Not many in the Institute knew that Evie could make this transformation. Something internal made her want to keep it to herself. She wanted to enjoy the peace that she found when running free through the woods. So far the only people who she confided in or who had 'sniffed' her out were Scott, Logan, Bella, and Gideon. If anybody looked close enough to the wolf, they would see patches of dark fur where her tattoos were. The ink that was used was so special that it retained it's form somewhat as a wolf.

Her head jerked to the right when she heard something in the woods during the early hours. Her snout raised to the air to find scents on the wind. It was familiar. It was a friend. She started running towards the sound instead of away from it. The scent smelt like Logan; however, it was different. It was Gideon. Gideon was a friend.

Running. Her paws pounded in the ground kicking up dirt. The wolf ripped through the woods with animal like speed seeking her prey. She wanted to catch up to his pace. She jumped over a rock embankment and caught up with the fast moving Gideon. Her pace matched him and she banked through all the sharp turns he made. Quickly, Gideon tried to change direction. Her feet skidded into the dirt and she made the leap to catch back up.

A scent. A new scent picked up in the air. It was meat. Gideon was carrying something with her that her senses wanted. It made her pick up the pace. When she tried to get up over one of the rocky crags, she leaped over and landed on his back as he was coming down. Both wolf and man landed in the ground and the wolf licked his face. Her code, wet nose started sniffing his hands looking for something.

User ImageOmega: The Changes We Make

"Guthrie," Siona grumbled looking at the alarm clock that hadn't gone off yet. Her eyes turned towards their dorm window where music was streaming through. It was beautiful in sound; however, the words are what made her cranky. Jay Guthrie was spilling their break up into a series of songs... which he was now playing purposely loud out in the yard near her and Forellen's window.

"Ah warned him ah wasn't the settlin' type," Siona muttered and stumbled to the window. It was early so her mind wasn't focused yet.

Much had developed with her ability over the past year, but the one thing she knew well was that she needed to concentrate to get it right. Closing her eyes, she started working on some calculations quickly to determine the probability of all of the guitar strings breaking at once. Whenever she determined she had the number, she held her hand out before her and focused on creating a probability bubble and pushed it towards the back of Jay. The bubble hit Jay's guitar and caught it in a small sphere of her control. Having done her math correctly, she watched as each string broke.

Smiling, she went back and crawled into bed for a bit.

A year ago, she never was able to do something like that. A year ago she was ready to give up on her powers as something useless. Emma Frost refused to allow that to happen. They discovered she could project her probability bubble outward towards objects she could see... and if she did the math, had the energy, and the concentration... she could control what was going to happen. It was far from perfect, but she had an understanding of her abilities finally. It meant more math classes and help from geniuses like Dr. McCoy to come up with standard formulas while in battle. Of course, if given the choice, Siona would rather pull out a gun, lasso, or bow and arrow before using her powers.

She yawned and rolled over to sleep a bit longer if sleep would let her. Something told her she wouldn't be getting more sleep. Karma seemed to still scoff at her sometimes when she used things for her own small gain.

Alpha: Early morning run.

User Image

It had been an actual year since prom. Nope not some trip to a magical realm where time flowed differently. He thought is was funny that they were now junior Xmen. Some days he is still amazed he is allowed to stay here. Though he couldn't stay away if he wanted as long as Bella remained here. Their relationship was stronger then it was before. And he wouldn't have it any other way.

The morning air was sweet with freshly fallen dew. He loved the tranquility that came with early mornings. So few at the academy would be up. Logan and Evie were generally the only ones who would wake as early. Though Scott was a fairly early riser. But none of that mattered.

He enjoyed the sounds of morning as animals were waking for the say. This was his time to run through the woods. Let his body come alive through the physical activity. Running through the woods faster then he had the year prior. His body had gotten stronger over the year. And his now complete knowledge of the wood make his run so much more enjoyable.

Ears perked as he heard a splash then shortly after the sound of something shaking off towards the lake. He didn't need to see or smell who it was. It was the only person who would be up at this time and transform into a wolf. He was one of the select few who knew his team leaders new found trick. The first time it happened she tried to trick him into thinking she was a normal wolf. Though thanks to his sense of smell he knew instantly.

So now it was like a game every morning. As he ran she would catch up with him. Of course he would slow down when she approached. Once he heard her get close he would change direction at random to test her reflexes.

He felt her land on his back and if she hadn't done so while he was in the air he may of stayed on his feet. But nope that wasn't the case so the two tumbled to the ground. Rolling as he hit the ground Gideon came to a stop laying on his back. He shook his head when Evie as the wolf licked his face before sniffing around his hands and pocket for her treat. He brought one every morning just to mess with her.

"Alright girl calm down." He said sitting up as he pulled the beggin strip from his pocket and tossed it to the wolf.

"There are times when finding me is not easy..."
Omega: Mansion - The Not so Start of the Day

User Image

The hot air blew through her vibrantly red hair as she slowly took a heavy-duty comb through it so she knew it was manageable. The young adult sat as she semi-patiently waited till she could simply let it hang down around her neck. After all the swimming she'd done, and all the homework before that, it felt nice just to have a moment of silence.

Shandra hummed to herself as she ran her brush through the locks once more, just to make sure no knots had tried to hide in the mass. Although, as she started to brush she'd stood up as well with her small box of bathroom supplies in hand. When she'd successfully put her stuff back where it needed to go -out of eye's sight of course, Shandra headed down the steps to the foyer.

She stopped, just for a moment to take it in. One year had come and past, easily, since she'd helped destroy part of this place. Less since she had helped protect it. She had a feeling if these walls could tell stories, no wall could say it had gone undamaged for more than three months. Some of them might only have a year of stories to tell in any case. That idea put a smile of amusement on her face.

Her feet carried her to one of the places that had become one of her habitats - the kitchen. She knew she'd find some people there, that or they'd find her. One way or the other. Of course she still had a breakfast to cook and extra to make as well.

'Hmm...bacon...yes...bacon sounds good...' Shandra thought in almost a lazy contentment kind of sense.

Not sparing a second, Shandra went right to the things she both wanted and needed for a good meal. The bacon didn't take long at all, and using the sourdough bread she'd been able to make not too long ago she made herself a nice BLT. A little extra B and T....but who was going to blame her for that when she cooked it? Leaving the left over bacon, still a good amount of meat, on a covered plate on the counter, Shandra started her breakfast. After all, no doubt she had to get to school...somewhat soon.

Unless someone tried to bomb it again of course.

User ImageOmega: One year forwards and one year older.

Forellen yawned as the car that was driving her from the airport to the academy bounced up the road. These late night flights were killers. As the familiar sight of the academy’s gates slipped past she straightened and rubbed some of the sleep out of her eyes. It had been a long few weeks. She had spent it at home, her brother had gotten married and she was of course the maid of honor. The amount of preparation that went into planning a wedding was ridiculous. She was sure that the people lower in the social latter actually had it better then those up higher. If she ever got married she was getting eloped in a nice quiet civil ceremony. Then again her parents would kill her if she didn’t have a proper wedding.

The car stopping had her shaking off that train of thought. She needed a boyfriend in order to have a shot at walking down the isle. So at the age of eighteen that day was a long ways away. The driver smoothly exited the car and opened her door. “Merci monsieur.” She said politely as he let her our and shut the door. Two week over summer vacation and her two weeks for her brothers wedding was all it took to put the heavy French accent back into her voice. It never really went away but it did smooth out over the course of the year. At least this time around she knew what she was saying instead of guessing at it.

”Do you need help with your bags ma’am?” The driver asked getting her suitcase out of the truck of the car for her.

“No thank you sir. I can get them. Thank you again.” She said and waved him off as she headed inside. She was going to put her suitcase away, probably awakening Siona in the process then head to the kitchen and make herself some tea. She smiled slightly and as she started up the stairs she caught the smell of bacon. Someone was indeed up and already in the kitchen. She’d be joining them there herself.

Her room hadn’t changed much in the year she had been here. Her side was neat and uncluttered like her closet. Siona’s side of the room was a different story. Forellen saw her still in bed and smiled a little wickedly before hefting her suitcase onto her bed with a grunt. “Well, good morning sunshine.” Forellen said loudly as Siona grumbled something at her. She padded over and yanked the blankets off of her sleepy friend. “What?” She asked at the glare. “You told me to get you up when I got in. I am in and I am waking you up.” She said trying and failing to hide the smile. “I’m going down to have something for breakfast. See you downstairs.” She said closing the door. Her mission was accomplished...Siona had been awakened now for some toast and a nice cup of tea to start her day. She’d go to bed after her long flights but she didn’t want to be laying awake in the middle of the night with insomnia.

Alpha: Another year under the belt, more looming in the future.User Image

Had a year really gone by that fast? To Everett, it seemed like it couldn't have gone any slower. He had about a billion things to do every day and time just wasn't on his side. Despite this fact he found the time, though he may have sacrificed a few years of his life to receive. Between his work and mutant affairs he found himself stretched to the breaking point, only to snap back after his own personal breakthrough. He was a busy man and an even busier mutant. Day in day out he found himself working to better himself and his abilities. He'd eventually hit a wall and found the only way to overcome it was to overcome his own faults. He looked back to what Narcissa had said to him so long ago at the prom and finally let go. He released all that he could but still he couldn't find it in himself to cry any more. The tears just weren't there, the Iron Castle still stood.

He didn't have time to dwell on such facts though. He had more work to do. He was up early as he always was but to most it seemed like he didn't sleep. He didn't have the luxury of sleep like most. He had a job to do and as such he was up and ready to do it. He found himself killing two birds with one stone just outside of the kitchen on the patio. There he levitated in his personal shield as sat indian style reading his latest script that floated with him. That bubble of his had grown to be quite the interesting phenomena. It seemed that within it gravity was null and void due to the amount of energy it put off. Everything just seemed to float around in there, circling him as he concentrated, palms open and facing upward. His lips moved lazily as he read aloud to himself from the script.

"And then he enters, descending from the staircase.....no, no I'm not liking this very much. This writing is so stilted and hackneyed., Who writes this kind of sentimental dribble?", he said as he cast the script out his bubble. That wasn't as good a way to start the day as he assumed. Maybe it was just that he was preoccupied with his training that he wasn't understanding the intricacies of the story. Maybe it really was just a crappy movie? He didn't know, he wasn't in much of a mood to contemplate the method behind his madness at the moment. He simply closed his eyes, concentrating the whole of his remaining energy to bend to his will. From behind his eyelids trickled a silver light and his shield crackled and fizzled as he searched around, reading the electromagnetic patterns in the area.

He'd learned many a trick in his year at this school and this one had to be his greatest. By concentrating he was able to perceive the world as others would never have the chance to. Everything around his was colored in it's own special light, emitting from it's center. He hadn't shared this ability with many. For the most part it just seemed his eyes tended to glow on their own. Who was to say when he was using his powers? Thanks to this nifty little trick he was able to fire his last agent for embezzling funds, a fact he found out after a simple conversation. To him everyone had their own color and from it he could determine the tastiest bit of information. He saw Evie, or was it Evie? The color matched but as the creature emerged from the waters the form was drastically different from the woman he knew. He could see a group of students having a fun little game of basketball on the court, enjoying themselves as children do. He could see the Guthrie boy, the winged one. He wasn't sure what he was doing till he caught sight of that familiar energy signal coming from lady luck herself. It was all so interesting in his world. On some days he wondered if this even paled in comparison to the senses shared by his team leaders. Surely they could tell a great deal of things from the slightest sound or smell but could they see what he could? His world was something entirely new and he cherished the thought of keeping this little skill under wraps.

His shield seemingly crackled and fizzled away into nothing as he caught sight of Shandra in the kitchen behind him, her pale yellowish color flickering in and out. He could smell the bacon just seconds before he set himself down and walked into the kitchen to greet her with an even expression. "Morning.", he said to her as he made his way over to the coffee pot to brew himself a cup off tea before taking a few slices of bacon from what remained. "It seems there's one thing we can always count on your for, eh?", he said before diving into another script and letting the light in his eyes fade into nothing.

Omega: The Beginning

User Image "Of course... the nine millimeter round."

Donnovan pressed his right fist to his mouth as he stared at the screen of the laptop he'd been issued, playing through a memory game for the umpteenth time. It was a calming way to retain training he would rather not remember, and hopefully to gradually build upon it. It had taken seven seconds, but even after five minutes of random and distracting images between the original picture and the modified version he had realized that the nine millimeter handgun round had moved from the left side of the bookend to the right side.

Seven seconds wasn't bad, given the size of the image; he would have to go up to six minutes between viewings. But his eyes ached, and were probably very bloodshot; it was time to stop looking at the virtual, and to do what he could to understand reality. He shut down his computer and covered himself in an overlarge T-shirt and baggy jeans.

When he arrived at the academy, Donnovan had requested that he be allowed space away from the other students; at the time, he hadn't felt like discussing much of anything with anyone, especially when there was no one who could know what he had experienced. He'd been sneaky, paid attention to his teachers and shunned his peers; it was a concentrated effort to pick up on the learning that he had missed through his many academically unproductive years of life, and for the most part it had succeeded. He could rattle off geometric formulae, label the parts of an earthworm, write decent essays, speak and read a bit of Latin.

History, of course, was tough; everything he'd grown up with no longer applied. The neatly organized row of textbooks beside his bed attested to his continued efforts to relearn that particular subject, and he mentally rattled off a few dates in his head while pulling on socks and shoes: the fall of Constantinople, the Battle of Hastings, the death of Genghis Khan. Most of what he had done, he could not have done with others around to distract him, but he could not stay alone forever. "Live divided, die alone", he reminded himself.

Standing at last, he checked his calendar just to be certain. Sure enough, it was "D Day", a term many people seemed to consider synonymous with the Normandy Landings but really just meant the day a military operation commenced. Donnovan dreaded this day almost as much as any day of the Third Shadow War; today was the day he was going to quit hiding and figure out what people were like before he died some broken old man.

Of course, that meant he actually had to sit among people and talk to them, a prospect that filled him with dread. Staring at his reflection on the darkened screen of his computer, he smiled as widely as he could, whispered "good morning" with all the confidence he could muster, and tried not to look stupid. He was fairly certain he'd failed, but there could be no excuses this time. He was going to carry out his plan until he met his goals, and to that end he opened the door and stole downstairs.

He wasn't sure if he should be chagrined or relieved that those already in the kitchen were conversing, but he leaned toward the former and froze in his tracks at the sight of them. From that moment, each step forward was difficult, but the knowledge that fleeing now would ruin his chances kept him propelled. At last he reached the counter, steadied himself on it, and gathered a few strips of bacon. He turned, as if just spotting the others, and spoke quietly.

"Good morning."

His objective accomplished, Donnovan immediately sought extraction, and moved swiftly for the solace of a nearby table. In silence he began to devour his morning meal, praying to whatever beings might be listening that he hadn't made a fool of himself already.

Omega: Time flies

Leion sat up in his bed and released a long yawn while he stretched. Hard to believe it had already been a year since prom, but with all his practice and training after school it wasn't too surprising that time just flew by like that. What was more shocking was that they hadn't had any large scale attacks during or after prom, well maybe that was because many of the teachers had been there.

Not checking to see if his roommate was in, Leion got dressed in his normal clothing of an overly large hoodie and slim-waisted, baggy-legged pants and headed down to the kitchen. Seeing that someone had made some bacon, he grabbed a few slices and walked over to the fridge to get some eggs. After grabbing two eggs and a frying pan he set to work breaking up the bacon and dumping it into the eggs while they were cooking. To him it just made sure he didn't have to overly salt the eggs to get the taste right, though it did make them look a little wierd.

He took a look at the others in the kitchen as he walked to the table and sat down with his eggs with bacon; Shandra, Everett, and someone else. "Mornin' " he muttered to the others as he stifled another yawn. Oh! Forgot a fork he thought as he set the plate down and went to the drawer to grab a fork Might as well get some juice while I'm up as he grabbed a glass and poured some orange juice from the fridge.

When he finally got to the table he started eating, waiting for some to start up a conversation. One thing he was still not very good at was making small talk.

Alpha: Home, at LastUser Image

Isabella closed the room to her shared dorm with Evelyn, a small frown gracing her lips—She’d thrown the last of her suit cases on the floor on her side of the room in their new living quarters after she’d dug through them for a decent outfit. She’d been hoping to see her best friend…The rooms were slightly larger than the student dorms, and a little more homey… They seemed… Permanent.

She was sporting a healthy tan, her honeyed auburn hair shining with bits of red in it when the sun caught it… She had spent the past couple weeks visiting her mother in Barranquilla. It had been fun, a good escape after Logan’s survival/endurance training… It hadn’t been a requirement to join Junior X-Men—But it was an experience with pro’s that outweighed the cons—And Bella couldn’t pass it up. It had been akin to Navy SEAL training—Minus torture. Although she firmly believed that ice cold showers should be counted in the inhumane column.

Her bed was perfectly made, and Evie’s was still turned down—It was so early that the sun didn’t even want to be up. Her flight had been delayed, again, and she’d only just arrived—Three days late. Anti-mutant protesters had barricaded the flight terminal, throwing stones and the occasional makeshift Molotov cocktail. It hadn’t targeted—Just general prejudice. Humans just didn’t want the X-Gene on flights with them. They wanted mutants to have to wear special wrist bands—And only fly on segregated flights.

There had been a riot, a panic—And she would have been trampled if it weren’t for her own abilities that kept those closest to her calm. All in all, she was tired, a little banged up—And she had class that day.

It was passing the elevator that she heard someone call her name, and she turned about—A smile blooming on her features. “Professor…”, she greeted Scott Summers, automatically giving him a friendly hug.

He laughed good naturedly—Obviously a morning person. Inwardly, she loathed him for that. He already had stacks of paperwork in his hands. “Welcome back…You know… You really don’t have to call me than anymore, Miss Stone.”

“I know..”, she responded cheekily—Hoping he hadn’t noticed that she was on her way to the boys dorms for the newly instated Junior X-Men. She wasn’t sure if they were still off limits like they had been before… But she wasn’t going to take chances just yet. “It’s just habit. Mr. Summers.”

“You’ve been made aware of some of the changes then?”, he questioned he, seemed to delicately broach the topic—Ignoring her sarcastic barb all together. “We took the liberty to move your things while you were away…”

Professor Frost sent me an email about it—I’m all up to speed.”, Bella responded with her usual smile, one that was meant to dazzle—So she could escape.

Scott nodded, but tilted his head—Though he saw in shades of red—He distinctly noticed the discoloration on her jaw. He had of course heard about what happened at the flight terminal—But it was International business, and they had heard about it too late to do anything other than send someone to pick her up in the X-Jet. “You should really go see Warren for that… He’s down in the lab with Hank. I’m sure you can take an extra day if you need to…”

Bella tilted her head the other way, blocking his view, her smile falling. “I’m fine… It was just a... bumpy flight…”, she returned with chagrin, watching him reluctantly nod his head and then continue on his way. He had a lot to do before the day really started… Bella could tell that he secretly hated it that they were all little adults now—They would always be his students.

She continued on her way, using the signs that were posted in the hall to point herself in the right direction. Thankfully, all the boys dorms were labeled, or else she have had an interesting time finding Gideon’s room. Finding the door unlocked, she let herself inside… She could tell it was his room the moment she stepped in. Bare necessities. Some of her art work off to the side that he had kept.

And again, there was no one home.

The bed was made, and she frowned… It didn’t look slept in. Sighing, instead of hunting Evie or Gid down she curled up on the bed, and closed her eyes—Exhausted. Moments later she was fast asleep.

Alpha- Adjusting really works.

It hasn’t seemed that long since I’ve been there. This is the second longest place I’ve been in. Alexis thought to herself as she glanced around the forest. The woods had remained one of the most important places in her life. But she didn’t mind being around people so much anymore either. After forcing herself for Cal’s sake she’d been better off. She wrote him and told them. They frequently wrote. It made life much easier on her and it made him happy too.

Still, Trans spent time every morning before going in around other people. The days that she didn’t normally tended to be problematic days. Fights, yelling, or reverting back to her old self, which was much less dangerous to other people. Sighing lightly she stretched out before jumping to the other ground below. It wasn’t all that long of a fall. She almost smiled to herself. The woods still felt like home, but she was glad another place had taken that form too. Not to mention it had people she could stand.

She started walking back towards the mansion to get something to eat. She only ate two meals a day-breakfast and dinner. During the year she had spent there she didn’t gain much weight. Her muscles build back up a bit, but she roughly stayed the same slender framed girl. She was glad of the fact. It made cloth buying much easier. She still kept the same style too. Mid drifts and short black shorts with her black fingerless gloves and bare feet. She didn’t care about some of the stares she still got. She was comfortable here now.

Walking through the halls she made her way to the kitchen. She took in the smell of bacon and saw the empty plate. Frowning, she shrugged to herself before walking to the fridge. She remembered when she wouldn’t have even been able to do what she was doing. Getting a glass of milk, she went and got one apple and one banana before moving out of anyone else’s way. Seeing a demeanor she knew well, she just shook her head walking over to Donnovan.

She put a gloved hand on his shoulder, hoping not to scare him out of his skin. She leaned over and whispered into his ear. “Get used to them, it makes things a lot easier. I should know. I’ve been there.” She moved away, letting her arm fall in the process and sat a little ways down the table from the male. She ate her food quietly along with her milk, not really looking at anyone, but knowing all the same that they were there. She might have changed but her old habits didn’t always change with her. Some were just to hard to drop.

The Omega: Here Comes the SunUser Image

Narcissa sat in front of Emma Frost in her office, bright and early, listening to the White Queen ramble on and on about rules and responsibility. It bothered Narcissa, somewhat because since the year prior—She had managed to keep her former Hellions mostly out of trouble, and none of them had decided to jump ship because she’d been a horrible monster to them. Yet the real reason Frost’s little lecture was bothering her, was because everything she was saying—Emma really didn’t care about. True to form, Emma really didn’t care what she did. So long as she didn’t get caught be Scooter doing it.

I get bloody it… No physical harm to the Alpha’s…”, Narcissa drawled, staring at her nails. They still had that freshly lacquered look—The expensive French tips perfect and unmarked. “None of the rules have really changed… Except curfew, and the fact that some of us are legal adults. I’ve been doing this for awhile… I think I’m smart enough adjust myself and my team to being in the Junior X-Men.”

Emma pursed her lips, her glare sharp at the attitude the girl gave. Unlike so many other students, Narcissa had never caved to her seemly omniscient presence—And when questioned seemed to always have developed temporary amnesia. “The more you interrupt me the longer this is going to take. You know all of this is required, so stop being so bullish.”

I know. It just doesn’t seem necessary…”, Narcissa responded boredly, unphased by Emma’s cold stare. But since she said nothing else, Emma began to continue—The teams would all need to get new uniforms in the proper colors, new comm links. They were going to come in several different forms this time around. One that was half the size of a check book, and with a width of a pencil that could be carried—And the newer version, silver wrist comm’s… So far the wrist comms had been the more popular. Each person needed a new ID… Blah Blah Blah.

Cissa zoned out for the rest of the meeting, and left the office when Emma excused her nearly an hour later. The blond was sporting a tan from European beaches, and her hair, though slightly shorter from the year before, was the same stunning gold. She wore a cream colored skirt suit. The skirt came to several inches above her knee, the sleeveless vest buttoned up over a casual low cut white shell—The white sleeves stopping at the crook of her elbow, before they frilled out.

Her golden hair was long and free, scarlet passion lipstick stark and chic against her skin—High heels giving her a few extra inches. She went back to the dorm that she still shared with Kerrigan and started putting her materials together—The first of her classes would be starting in less than an hour. Just like regular college, not every student had the same schedule—Or even started class at the same time. Her first was Government II.

Once she had her things together, she left her dorm, on the prowl for some of her Omega teammates. Surely they were awake—More than likely in the kitchen. They were always, for some reason, in the kitchen.

“Morning, Children…”, Narcissa greeted the students in the kitchen as she glided into the room, appearing with herusual glamor-- As if she had stepped directly off the silver screen, her voice laced with a hint of ice and superiority, as was her way. This included Shandra, Leion, Everett, and distantly Alexis as well as the newer boy Donnovan. She hadn't spoken much to him, but he seemed to spend alot of time in his room. Emma had told her to go easy on him. She knew it infuriated half of them when she called them children, but it had grown to be less of an insult—And more of a pet name for anyone Narcissa came across. She air kissed Shandra’s cheek on her way to the refrigerator to get a bottle of water. The food smelled good, but Cissa didn’t actually eat—Water would do.

Alek's knuckles had long sense turned white under the bandaged wrapped around his hands, as he punched the vinyl bag before him. One, two, one two, knee, kick, one, two... The pattern seem to carry on for a good solid two minutes, unchanging, no break. Then he never brought his foot down of the kick, but instead used the momentum to spin and round house the punching bag.

Alek's leg landed on the ground. From his angle up his calf he had similar bandage like tape wrapped up and down as he had his wrists. He didn't walk around in this fashion, it was just his usual get up when he took to fighting the red foe before him, not in the danger room but in the gym. The red foe had many faces, but usually always one... Daniel.

He stared at the bag for a few seconds before slamming a swift strong punch into it, stabbing the punching bag with his arm. It didn't hurt... it felt good. It was a release. This gym had become his release. It was where most of his time these days was spent. Almost ever waking minute that was free, and not filled with sleep, he spent here, or off running several miles. His once small slender body had long since changed. The childish boy that had arrived last year was now replaced but a quite calm collective male.

He ran his hand through his sweat soaked black hair and let out a sigh, and turned to Antonio whom had become his work out buddy of the year, and for whom he happened to share this morning with. "Well, I think thats enough for this morning. Need to shower and eat before the day start's after all." He started off to the locker room, and looked over his shoulder. "You coming buddy?"

Once in the locker room he sat on the bench and started the process of removing the bandages, starting with his left leg then the right, then for his arms. Once his hands were free he started to form a fist and then open, the form a fist again, getting the blood to flow normally through his hands again. "That was a nice work out. Im going to feel it later. I love that burn, nothing beats it. I live to feel it." He looked up at Antonio as he spoke. Antonio had become one of his friends to whom he felt he could talk openly with. There were not many but he had a select few.

Stripping himself of the tank and bicycle shorts, he entered the hot steamy shower, taking a deep breath, before beginning to scrub away at the sweat. He grabbed his towel and wrapped it around his waist and left the shower stall and back to his locker grabbing the clothes he would wear for the day, and then with no shame, dropped the towel and slipped into the T-shirt, jeans, and flip flops, before tugging the jacket around him, lifting the hood over his head.

"Ah, I wonder if Shandra made her way to the kitchen. I love her food. Maybe she made enough to share. I wonder who all's up today.
" He started walking with Antonio towards the kitchen, having idle small talk as they worked their way to where several of the students were sitting and starting the day's greetings.

Once there, he saw faces. Faces he saw everyday. Normal ordinary faces. Some his friends some mere acquaintances. Coffee was a good start, and thats where he headed, but rolled his eyes upon seeing Everett there. "Ah I see your taking over the brewery for tea again..." He leaned forward, trying not to push the preoccupied Everett as he grabbed the adjacent pot that still had coffee and filled a cup. Once he was happy with the black steaming liquid in his cup he looked over Everett's shoulder. "So... how's this one? Keeper? Or turning it down as you have so many."

He reached over grabbing a piece of the remaining bacon, rather disappointed that more had not been made to eat, but that was neither here nor there. He had long sensed learn to not expect others to look out for you completely. Your your best defense. As he bit into the bacon he nodded to Shandra in gratitude and stared up at the ceiling before coming down for the coffee.

Everett's words put a half smile, half frown on her face. Oh, she knew it probably was meant to something akin to the average compliment from him. Still, just the way it was phrased...but oh well, there really was no point in trying to take a return jab at him. Especially since that would be too obvious.

Part of her really didn't listen to that. "I was already cooking..."

After that little remark, Shandra took a bite out of her sandwich just as another, slightly familiar face came in (Donnavan). She didn't know him too well, but then again not many people really knew her either.

"Good morning," Shandra replied back quietly on instinct to the greeting, watching him with a slightly curious, cautious glance as he seemed to pull back in and head to a table.

One by one, people were starting to come in. Next on the list was Leion, purple eyes and all. She gave him a half wave as she went to the fridge to fill up her glass of water again. Once she'd finished that bout of water off, Shandra turned back around just to take a moment to make sure her head was ready for school. Normal...college.

The idea seemed absurd but at least she was doing something. After the break she'd given herself, school in general just seemed strange. But the break from school had also done her a bit of good, or so she'd say herself. Just a chance to think...to practice...and just to get used to the idea that she wasn't exactly alone anymore. Or at leas the fact that people didn't think she would be.

Shandra blinked when Narcissa came into the kitchen, not surprised at the fact that it would happen but at the fact that she'd actually just been standing around with the slightly thoughtful look on her face. Quiet serenity, really, but the kitchen was filling up. She stood still when Narcissa drew in for what was her friendly greeting, the comment about children had basically just slipped over her head - the thought of normal school really did seem surreal, not that she'd told anyone in so many words.

"Good morning to you too," Shandra's voice came out in the hushed tone she usually used, calm and softened by the lack of anything fierce in it at the moment.

Just out of the corner of her eye she watched Alek and Antonio making their way to the kitchen. Probably just got done with their own morning workout agenda, as though they wouldn't get enough of a work out just living at the mansion as it was. Of course, she was guilty of doing the same thing but no one had to know that.

'Besides...thirty minutes of swimming really doesn't compare.'

"Everett is a picky actor, you should know that by now, " Shandra spoke out towards Alek's comment as she turned around to set her cup into the sink. "Who probably owns stock in the tea company..."

"And when you do you might wish you hadn't."

User ImageAlpha: Mmmm bacon

Can't pass up bacon in any form. The wolf gladly ate what Gideon had given her. Before she could go up and beg for more treats, Gideon uttered a key phrase. Moon Child. The phrase triggered her subconscious and forced Evie to recognize she needed to come out of her current state. Forcing her human form onto her body, the wolf started to growl. Her eyes and mind started to return to normal and she could see her fingers clawing at the dirt and not paws anymore.

Spitting into the dirt she said, "Could you at least get gourmet next time? The general store crap is not cutting it."

Evie stood up barefoot and wearing her uniform. Moments like those, she was glad for unstable molecules. Her first transformation left her naked which didn't bother her much. Logan and Gideon had at least been decent about it.

Logan was conducting a stress training with her to try to test the triggers that were causing her rage abilities (namely the claws). Gideon was well known to have the ability to push her buttons so he was invited by Logan. Apparently he did it to well and she fully finished the transformation. After this, though, discussion was made with Emma and Scott on how to properly train this ability. Scott had her uniform converted to the substance any of their shape shifters used. Emma thought it would be best to use her telepathic voodoo to put a keyword trigger in Evie's head that a few select people knew. It was known with Wolvebane that she would get lost in her transformation. It became the only time that Evie willingly let a telepath in her head.

"What phrase shall we use?" Emma asked. Evie was in a bit of a bewildered state and didn't respond. Gideon stifled a bit of laughter and said, "Moon Child."

Evie narrowed her eyes and sneered, "I'm not a hippie."

"Well not in the typical sense of a hippie but missy your an animal now that's as close to nature as one can get," Gideon gave her his 'joking' look. Deep down she could appreciate his humor. Actually, it made her smirk after she stewed on it a bit and nodded to Emma to do it.

"I don't want anybody else to know about this yet," Evie looked at Scott and Emma, "Not until I understand it and can control it. I don't want to be a liability to the team."

And that's how it remained. Only five knew her secret at the moment. Not even Reikon, which she felt most guilty about. She spent much of the last year working with him closing and training him on control since she knew the ins and outs of Cannonball's powers. That work also kept them dating after prom had finished.... and now she was hiding her weakness from him because she was the one with control. Evie's weakness was always being able to accept she didn't have control at all moments in time.

Standing next to Gideon she nodded towards the Institute, "Bella should be home... and if I know her she probably is passed out on your bed waiting for your return not wanting to go hunt us down. And I need to go wake up Reik or he's probably going to be late for my power training class this morning knowing him and early morning."

Barefoot, she trotted back to the Institute with her nagging guilt. She whispered to Gideon, "I still have no idea how to tell him that I can do this... we've been dating for damn near fifteen months and i keep a two month long power secret... my reasons at first seemed sound, but now I just feel like a jackass."

Looking upward, she smiled and decided she was taking the fun way up that morning since the dorm room doors were generally locked. She grabbed onto one of the trees sprawling up the back of the Institute wall. Being a professional at scaling the Institute walls, it wasn't hard for Evie to get over to room 205. She was also glad she wasn't wearing her boots currently. Barefoot was easier for her.

Sliding in through the window, she contemplated throwing some water on Reikon from one of her left over water bottles in the room. But since she needed to be on her best behavior, she jumped onto his bed and rested her chin on his chest, "Hey cutey, time to get up. Don't wanna be late for the first day of my class."
