For any of you in Northern CA, Scott Halsey of Scott Halsey's Kenpo Karate has a camp up in the Whiskeytown area in a few weeks. For those who missed the deadline, make sure to check again next year, the 2010 Camp Kenpo with Masters Planas and Trejo again and possibly a special guest from Maui, Hawaii. Check out the website for Camp Kenpo for any more info. needed or feel free to PM me/ reply! After the camp is over I'll try to post pictures of the camp and fill everyone in on some new things that Masters Trejo and Planas teach during the camp. UPDATE!: For those who are curious, I will be posting pictures after the camp. If you would like to see pictures of the camp site, the teachers, or anyone you've heard about but never known, please send a quick PM and I'll include pictures if I can find them!

I personally love this camp because I know EVERYONE at it. I've grown up with most of the adults in this camp, and I've known Masters Planas and Trejo since the moment I started karate. It's like a big family reunion. >.<

Up here, we mostly work with John Sepulveda (he's the camp host) Steven LeBounty and Bob White. There's a plethora of other guest Instructors, but those three are the big wigs of the event! My first year at camp, LeBounty hit on me; he was giving a demonstration of a variation of Sword of Destruction and needed a volunteer. I ended up as his dummy, so when he asked me to throw the Right Roundhouse I did. It must have been good, because he got a really sheepish grin on his face and asked me "Where the hell were you when I was still dating?" I held my tongue, because the only reply I could think of was "In a crib." XP Thank god my brain filter was on that day...I'm sure he would have found it funny, he was in a really good mood, but I didn't want to run the chances of sounding disrespectful.

Sounds interesting... I personally haven't had something like that happen to me (yet), but a few of my friends have had something similar happen to them! gotta love the guys who appreciate the fact that girls have a chance at kicking their butts...
