No. Once written, you have a further 6 mins to write the additional details. Rubbing out the name will not affect it. They will still die.

Wrong. If the body has not been cremated then a shinigami's eraser can erase the words. Normal erasers aren't capable of it.
Also, it is 6 minutes and 40 seconds. XD
Yes that sounds very lame but they had a interview with the producers and he said that it was so XD
