i like fantasy best, but some good ones also have a romance theme as well.
Robin McKinley's retelling of beauty and the beast, Beauty, is very sensitively done, and her recent book Chalice is full of unspoken expressions of love.
she excels at not saying things, and doing so in an eloquent way.

Author: Bertrice Small Series name: The World of Hetar (currently books 1-5) Genre: Fantasy
If you really get into both fantasy (wizards/faeries/magic) and lusty romances, than this one is awesome. I don't usually read romances, but I found and picked up the last three at a garage sale because they sounded good (and I had nothing else to read at the time) and ordered the first two online. Once I started the series though, I couldn't put it down. I just hope she plans to come out with more books to the series. whee

Hmmm
if you are into Paranormal type romance try Katie McAllister. She has a bunch out. from the ailing grey series where it is about a girl who finds out she a guardian... but also a wyvern (dragon king) mate. And all her issues what that. But katie also has books out that are just fun interesting sometimes can be a little smutty in a funny way books. I have all of hers they are good. She dabbles in alot of difference romance genres.
then there is Diana Palmer for the classic romance, but with a western/western state type twist. She has alot, and not all her westerns are the cowboys as heros like most would think, and some of them don't even have cowboys/girls. they just take place in texas, colorado types places.
But for regency type romances there is Virgina Henley she her books are very good, but kind of typical regency novels. But wonderfully written also some have a tad intrigue to them.
Of course we can't forget mystery romance. For that you can try Stephanie Bond She has a series out Body Movers. Which is a good one, About carlotta and her issues caused by 3 men in her life, her brother, a cop, and her ex fiance. Intiguing. And awesome book series...
And then finally but not somewhat least. there is Vicki Lewis Thompson she has some interesting books, about nerds and them finding true love. Can be somewhat smutty, but are funny reads. Most have some intrigue in them. Good for a light funny read.
Hope these help a little. =)

I love the Undead and Unwed series by MaryJanice Davidson. They are funny, romance books about Betsy (a vampire who doesn't eat people and loves shoes). Similar to Katie McAllister.
Virginia Hamilton is good. She writes romance/paranormal but there isn't much humor in them.

Author: Sherrilyn Kenyon Series name: The Dark-Hunter Novels Genre: Romance--strangely. When i go to buy the books i have to go to the romance section of the store. Here is what a Dark-Hunter is------- The Dark-Hunters are fictional immortal warriors in the Dark-Hunter series who sell their souls to the Greek goddess Artemis for one single act of vengeance against those who may have facilitated their death. Afterward they are bound to protect mankind from Daimons; vampires who survive by taking human souls. Daimons are former Apollites, creatures cursed by the god Apollo for the murder of his mistress and son. Apollites cannot go in the sun, must feed off of each other to live, and are destined to die on their 27th birthday if they choose not to become Daimons. In the Dark-Hunter universe, if a person dies by being betrayed or misled, their soul may scream out for vengeance. The strongest and most passionate screams echo through the halls of Olympus, to Artemis, the goddess of the hunt. She then offers them the choice to become Dark-Hunters in return for an Act of Vengeance. Once the bargain is accepted, the new Dark-Hunter is branded with Artemis's double bow-and-arrow mark. In exchange for their souls, Artemis allows all new Dark-Hunters to have twenty-four hours to exact revenge on those who wronged them during their human life. Most notably the Dark-Hunters usually go after people who killed them. After the twenty-four-hour period, they belong to her and get sent to Acheron, the leader of the Dark-Hunters. After the training with Acheron is over, the Dark-Hunters are assigned a location somewhere in the world. Then the Dark-Hunter spends the rest of eternity fighting with Daimons and other evil. Artemis pays them well for their services and provides them with human helpers known as Squires. To Learn More.....Click Here!
