Teddy was born in the poor side of Kusa where he trained to be a ninja, at the age of 6 he became a Genin, and fought his way threw the chunin exams and got to Chunin at 9, after 3 years of being Chunin he was promoted Jounin for helping the village out, 5 years later when he turned 18 the Kusakage died of old age and the position was given to Teddy.
