Plot
This Role Play takes place in the same world as the Olde World Fantasy RP, except 600 years later. Technology has advanced greatly as is discussed elsewhere. Culturally the world is much like the early 20th century on Earth. Chivalry and honor are important to a man, but women are still an underclass although there is growing dissent and a feminist movement growing throughout the human kingdoms. But there is also an industrial revolution where human life and the environment have no value compared to progress. Men, women, and children work long hours in dangerous factories and sweat shops where many die or are dismembered, but employers always have more people to replace them with.
Countries
Mordiheim: The Imperial Republic of Mordiheim controls the largest empire ever seen. It's expansion was heralded under an Emperor, like in old times, but sometime after the expansion the people began revolting. In order to maintain control and not lose so much that had been gained the Emperor relinquished his rights of complete control and formed a new government system: a republic. The Emperor serves as the head of state, but all true power lies in the Senate, sadly this too is becoming a corrupt form a government. Although now the government is a Republic there are still many who refer to it as "the Empire" because of Mordiheim's continued imperial actions.
Allies: Estalia, Dvergar
Brettonia: The Brettonian King, unlike the Emperor of Mordiheim, relinquished his power willing. Their government is controlled by a two house republic system. One house is made up of Barons and Baronesses whereas the other house is compromised of elected officials. The King has no true power over the government, he just has his palatial estate. The leader of Brettonia is the Prime Minister.
Allies: Ellyrion, Cadia
Estalia: Estalia has not changed much, their government is still controlled by royalty. They have also becoming the largest exporter of oil in the world, which has made Estalia very rich.
Allies: Mordiheim, Turambar
Keslev: Keslev is still controlled by their Vampiric queen, but the people now know that their leaders are Vampires and have attempted several rebellions, so far all have failed.
Allies: Sylvania, Dokkalfur, Cadia
Dokkalfur: The Dark Elves came to the conclusion that in order to survive in this new world they would need to forge alliances and come out of seclusion. They still despise all other races, but they have become more tolerant of most, except other Elves. They no longer raid coastal communities and instead behave peacefully with most countries, even though they threaten hostile actions. Their government is still ruled by royalty and religious leaders.
Allies: Keslev, Gnoblar, Muroidea
Ellyrion: The Elves saw their way of life being threatened once more and more lands were being discovered. Thus they united all of the Wood Elves and High Elves under one banner. They also founded a colony on the Cadian continent. Technologically the Elves, particularly the Wood Elves, tried to stay to the old ways for as long as possible, but in the end they failed. The Elves are the only race truly concerned for the environment, and as such they do not use cars and planes except for military purposes and they try and protect the environment as much as possible, making sure that the country side looks just like it did thousands of years ago.
Allies: Brettonia, Cadia, Dacorum
Cadia: Cadia was once a colony of Mordiheim, but after years of oppression it finally rose up and rebelled against them. After a long hard war they finally won and established their independence. The Empire has always held a grudge for that, but Cadia does not care. The Cadian government is a Democratic-Republic with the head of state called the President. They are also on good terms with almost every country in the world.
Allies: Brettonia, Cadia, Turambar, Dacorum, Dvergar, Keslev
Turambar: Turambar was another former colony of Mordiheim but it broke away along with Cadia. But unlike Cadia, Turambar has no strong central government. There is a central army, but it is quite weak, and civil control is only maintained by local authorities. So essentially this country is almost in a state of anarchy and thus attracts all sorts of pirates and criminals.
Allies: Cadia, Estalia
Gnoblar: The Orcs, Goblins, Trolls, Giants, and Ogres finally formed their own kingdom. For many years it was split up into warring tribes, but eventually one Orc warlord was able to conquer all the others and formed a central government, which is made up of the leaders from all the tribes and clans. Technologically Gnoblar has everything that the other races have, except theirs is not as well built so often times they purchase better technology from their allies.
Allies: Dokkalfur, Muroidea
Sylvania: The Vampiric Aristocracy finally chose to rebel against Mordiheim and form their own kingdom. The people know they are ruled by Vampires, but they live in so much fear that they do not dare question their masters.
Allies: Keslev
Muroidea: This is the surface and subterranean kingdom of the Ratmen. They are still a hated and despised race, and are likely the least interactive with other nations. Their government is still clan based and there is no real centralized government. They care less about the environment than any other race.
Allies: Dokkalfur, Gnoblar
Dvergar: This is the kingdom of the Dwarves. Their government is made up of a council which represents all of the Dwarvish clans. Dwarves are very industrial and love to mine and forge large weapons of war and as such they do not care about the environment at all except what might affect their industries.
Allies: Mordiheim, Cadia
Dacorum: The Dragons of the Olde World migrated east to a new land where they found many more dragons and have created their own nation. Their government is run by the oldest and richest Dragons. Dragons are somewhat concerned with the environment.
Allies: Ellyrion, Cadia
