Happy Tanabata to everyone!
Today is Tanabata, a holiday that originated in China and was adopted by Japan. It is a day where the weaving goddess Orihime is able to reunite with her long lost lover, Kengyuu.
The Japanese hold festivals for Tanabata and dress up in their traditional yukata! X3 (KAWAII!)
They write wishes on peices of paper called tanzaku (I believe) and hang them to bamboo.
Some celebrate it on other days too. According to the story behind it, the two are allowed to meet on the 7th day of the 7 month on a lunar calendar or something similar to that.
