Hey everyone! I am new to this cute guild. heart I am looking forward to sharpening my crochet skills. I am a beginner after all. 3nodding biggrin

And I am probably overthinking/overanalyzing this, but when I see this instruction I get confused. (Also, this is only an example, not from a real pattern).

R7-R13: Sc 48

Now, theoretically, would this mean the same as "R7: *SC 48* repeat 6 times?"

Or, is it the same as ...

R7: Sc 48
R8: Sc 48
R9: Sc 48
R10: Sc 48
R11: Sc 48
R12: Sc 48
R13: Sc 48

???

Now, I was making amigurumi, and after I did the whole "Sc 48" for each round, and it was very large, too large for the measurements specified for the final product. I wasn't sure if I was counting stitches wrong, or what, but yeah I was wondering, how does someone do this? gonk

What that means is you make 48 single crochets for rounds 7-13. It's possible you're accidentally adding too many stitches and/or rows, it's also possible the pattern is wrong. Also, did you check your gauge? That could be it too.
