I dunno, it's a very contraversial area. My art lecturer thinks that my digital work looks too airbrushed and is pointless, but she highly encourages me to work traditionally (not gonna happen XD)
I think if you're working in big industries or are involved in graphic design then it's good to know your way around photoshop and illustrator, but at the same time some decent money can be made in illustration using traditional media.

Even if it does look to airbrush like if thats what your going for then do it. Who care about traditional...its already been done....too much probably.
Ive talked to a graphics designer and he told me that when he was looking around for jobs in the art industry, graphics design gets you the biggest pay plus more diversity to where you can get a job. But that could be only true in this area somewhere else could be totally different.

What kind of animation? ^_^ the only animations I can do is flipping from frame to frame its not a smooth animation at all xd

I'm ok with digital art well considering my traditional art skills is generally non-existant unless you include rough pencil sketchings as traditional art XD
Most of my stuff is done with a pencil sketch then inked in Manga studio, I do feel though I'm limiting myself with the colouring parts of it as its very simple and geared towards cell shading rather then blending so I need to get out of my comfort zone and aim to actually use my paintshop pro or photoshop with the paints rather then just resizing and cutting razz I'm getting better at all digital art but I feel more comfortable with pencil and paper - except when it comes to colouring lol
I've never tried animation except that one time I doodle on the top corner of a book with stick men and then flipped the pages to make 'animation'! XD
