Okay, so I like cosplaying. I cosplay SEVERAL different characters. It's very fun and it's something that I can do with my friends. So, anyway, if you like cosplaying, go ahead and post your stories and any advice you may have here. If you want to know more about cosplaying then feel free to ask questions.
As I said, I cosplay as several different characters. Not all my cosplay outfits have been finished though. I like to sew my own outfits so they fit me properly. I crossplay a lot so that's why there's so many male characters on here. Here's my list in alphabetical order.

I have a LOT of stranger stories. Here's a good one.
I was with my two best friends. I have in my Vexen cosplay, my friends were Marluxia and Xigbar. Suddenly, my friend cosplaying Xigbar glomps me. My friend cosplaying Marluxia was all like "Get your hands off my man!" and I was all like "b***h, get back in the kitchen and make me some pie!" ((LOL, South Park)), and my Xigbar was all like "But, but I thought I was your b***h!"

I have to buy all my cosplay outfits cause i cant sew.
I tried to make a temari cosplay outfit. But when i was finished it looked
like a blob of cloth and thread XDXD
all i have are
Temari
Sakura
Yuuki
and Robin
my parents wont let me buy outfits for guys and stuff
(refers to stuff like sasuke, naruto, zero, and other male cosplaying outfits)

Aww..........Poor thing. My parents don't actually care what who I cosplay as long as I pay fo the stuff myself. I'm currently attempting to fin d some wigs for a friend. I'll need to cut and style them and dye them of course. One is for an Axel cosplay and the other is for a Xigbar cosplay. Yeah, my friend is weird.

Yeah, my friend is weird. sometimes my parents pay for part of the costume if they like the character a lot X3 yeah, my parents are a little goofy sometimes wigs are a little hard to find ish, especially the kind ur looking for... i wish you luck : ) so, ur friend is a kingdom hearts organization 13 fan huh?

We both are. I'm simply planning on cutting my own hair so I can do both my Roxas and Zexion cosplays. I'll have to find some good hair spray to style my own hair to be Roxas but it'll be fine.
And as for my friend's wigs, I'm not even going to try to find a decent one that's already styled because it'll be way too expensive. I'm going to find ones that are the right color and I'll cut and style them by hand. I'll have to get some silver hair dye for the Xigbar wig but it'll be no problem.

I use what I have, becasue I am too cheap to buy stuff, and I really don't want to explain to my dad why I suddenly started sewing a black cloak with red clouds. (He doesn't "really approve of this anime-gaia-whatever" which is what he calls anime)

Poor thing. No conventions you say? Hmm........It depends on where you live. I'm sure you could do an internet search of where you live to see if there are any conventions. Just go to Google, type in "Anime conventions in _______" and see what comes up.

I kinda buy my cosplay and I sew my own, it just dependss on how much money I have and how much the cosplay is. I refuse to buy cosplay that's not accurate to how it's supposed to look.

I think the weiredest thing that's happened to me when I was cosplaying was when I was Honey-Senpai, I went into the Con-Suite (free ramen, soda, tea, etc.) and theese girls looked at me very weierd and said "dude, I was just saying I wish I had some honey for my tea, and now youre here!" and I said "I don't think I can fit into your cup" It was very weired lol blaugh
