What are some other bands you like? Bowie is by far my favorite artist, but some of my other favorites include: The Beatles, T-Rex, Silverchair, and The Killers to name a few. razz

Oh, hello there, internets!
I'm a mellow kind of girl. I like anything by Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service) and Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes). Chan Marshall (Cat Power), Imogen Heap (Frou Frou), stuff like that. Devendra Banhart, too.
I did not see you there.

Oh wow. A lot. I have 300+ bands just in my winamp library, and that's not counting the stuff I have on CD, vinyl and tape.
A lot of my favourite artists are old and long-forgotten, but the more popular ones are Lou Reed, The Velvet Underground, Iggy Pop, The Stooges, Bryan Ferry, Brian Eno, Roxy Music, Adam Ant, Adam and the Ants, Morrissey, The Smiths, Billy Joel, Elton John, Placebo, Franz Ferdinand, Soul Whirling Somewhere, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, E Nomine, Michael Jackson, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Depeche Mode and Queen.
I could go on. And on.
This is why I hate hearing "What's your favourite band?" gonk

I was just wondering as a means to start a conversation. smile

I'm sorry! I wasn't directing that last comment at you. You pluralized 'bands.' I meant people who ask band, singular, as if I could survive just listening to one person all day. xD I usually just said Bowie for simplicity.

Billy Idol is pretty good. I like "Venus" and "Wasteland."
Oh, and Big Sugar are rapidly becoming a favourite for me.

Are they from Devil's Playground, or Idolize Yourself? My favorites are Eyes Without a Face, Don't Need a Gun, Sweet Sixteen, John Wayne, and Rebel Yell. My grandmother showed me a music video tape of his once. It was a good day.

Also, Pink Floyd. The Wall was a work of art.
