Listen kid. There's 2 things you don't know about the Earth: one is me.
It's what this guild needs. I hate to say it, but a lot of people also like winning things. To get more Pokémon trainers, we could hand out prizes for battling. I'm not sure if you can battle other trainers for gold, or place bets on battling with gold. But what I am sure is not against the TOS is winning Pokémon for battling, you see, I have a Action Replay I don't use anymore and I could fire it up and spawn some "Prize Pokémon"
We could use official Tournament rules and such, trainers could battle for rare Pokémon, which I will hand to the winner, like say, a Darkrai or a Shiny Mewtwo. Maybe a Pokémon with wonder guard?
These are some of my ideas to get casuals and hardcore trainers a like.
It make me join.
Also, we can have rankings. We could make our own "Elite Four" and a Champion.
If we can't hand out gold for winning, we can surely hand out Pokémon with rare items, like the Enigma berry.
Man, the idea of it makes it seem so cool.
And the other is... GODZILLA!

The Tournament/Contest Idea
Well, Actually with the contest sub-forum anyone can make there own contests.
So if you want to do that as your own personal contest, you could.
Rankings
That sounds more like a RP sort of thing, would you rather have that separated into a sub-forum or using the main forum?
Actually, can you make that ranking suggestion a bit more detailed. I think i understand what you mean... but eh. It's sketchy.
We'd have to battle using diamond/Pearl only? e.t.c

Well, that is the whole base idea.
We would have other members compete with each other, most likely using Diamond/Pearl or Platnium for "Elite Four" status. We would hold monthly chances to battle the "Elite Four"
But they only get one try, until the next chance. The winners who beat the "Elite Four" can battle the "Champion" to win the spot of "Champion" and a Grand Prize.
But, the should only be 1 chance per month for the Elite Four and one chance for Champion rank.
It puts a competitive spirit on for people, hell, if we can get an artist to draw a portrait of the Champion, that would be a great prize too, we could even have a "Hall of Fame"
People can hold their own contests sure, but I'm thinking this would be an Official guild contest.
Champions could always try to reclaim the throne, and such. Elite Four can be changed is one can't make it.
Hold special battles, say, Only 1st generation Pokémon only.. etc, etc.
And the other is... GODZILLA!

So RPG it is then, so if you don't mind me asking... (this is just something i was wondering to myself anyways) how comes you avoided the Gym leader positions? May as well make it a sub-forum.. so that's ticked on the list, now all you need to do is come up with a name for this RPG sub-forum and we'll be on the way to making this.

We should have the Elite Four keep to a certain type though.
We could also have "Call outs"
Like say, I make a topic in the battle subforum, calling you out, you can accept the dual or deny it. We could each bet a Pokémon/Item, winner take all battle.
I don't know, just a lot of great concepts, but not enough substance.
Hmmm...
The prospect of winning a shiny legendary for show off rights is a great way to take people in.

I avoided the Gym Leaders because I don't know how we can implement a Badge System.
Each of the Elite Four members makes a topic in the sub forum, and trainers post their request to battle. But, if you lose at one, yo have to start over at the first Elite Four member, once the next chance is held. Like, every 15th of the month.... etc etc.
Im just one guy here sweatdrop

Maybe we can use those badge sprites...
Members just post them somewhere, be it on their trainer topic they make at the TrainerDex or in their sig.
When they beat Gym Leader, they earn a badge, get all of them, go against the Elite Four.
Each Gym Leader should have level restrictions though.
I don't which Leader should be which type and such.
It's going to be an pretty extravagant RP though.

Same goes for the Elite Four. Only the Champ can be replaced. Look at the rules I posted. It be nice to start with 1 Gym leader at least

Choose which Gym Position will be good for you, add me, and we can do a quick battle.
If you're gunna be a Leader, you gotta be tough.
Also, It doesn't have to be just a single type.
Grass, Water/Grass, etc
works fine too.

um i'll try grass my levels are alittle ackward though lowest lvl is 37 but i'll be working harder to raise the levels and i only have 5 right now
