Okay, so many of you probably know that Soul Eater has been licensed by FUNimation and will be released in the US sometime in November of this year. Meaning I wouldn't be surprised if I happened to purchase those dvds... Anyway, the cast may be announced soon - perhaps even at Anime Expo (where the cast of Ouran was announced last year). What are your bets everyone? Do you even think it's a good idea that it's being dubbed by FUNi? Any specific predictions?

Personally, I think FUNimation did quite a couple enjoyable dubs including Full Metal Alchemist and OHSHC.

Though I'm concerned that they can't cast DTK just right. Mamoru Miyano does an awesome job.

I'm not to sure about dubbed animes.
Everyone has a different opinion on how they imagine their favorite anime to be.
And I haven't exactly heard when it the dubbed version was going to be released so it was good information to receive so thanks. biggrin
All I have to hope is that the dubbed version will be done well.

No problem. And in my opinion, a majority of dubs aren't good enough; but those that have any positive traits are usually by Funimation.

Gah! They better announce the cast at Anime Expo cause I wanna hear it as soon as possible.

Personally, I feel that dubs are... not nice.
Personally. the dubbed versions aren't usually very impressionable.
( lets say, they cant express the anime well enough)

i trust funi, i enjoy dubs. mostly because i always enjoy the animation, if i read the subtitles i miss the art. but its true that the voice doesn't always fit the character. and i am worried about what kidd will sound like.

Soul Eater is going to be dubbed!?! eek SWEET! I like both sub and dub versions of anime but sometimes one is better over the other. Hopefully, whoever is picked to do DTK will represent him properly.

Well Funi usually does a pretty good job, so I'd expect no less for Soul Eater. I'm sure they know how popular it already is with fans both in Japan and America. We can only hope that all the character's voices match well enough and Naruto's voice actor doesn't play Black Star. 3nodding

Argh I hate Naruto's voice actor -__-. no offense to those who love his voice actor.
Well anyways, do you think VizMedia would be a good choice for anime dubbing of Soul Eater?

Now that I actually visit their website and look at the shows they've produced... I'm not so sure. Gawwd, now I'm worried.

I prefer subs.
And as long as Vic mignona or however you spell his last name does not play DTK Its all good (or any character in the anime really) but seeing as its Funimation...thers bound to be him in it ;A; I really hope not ( no offense to ppl who like him)
I like Funi tho, I hope they do a good job on it ;A;

There is way too much that is lost in translation if you have dubbed anime. They change phrases to fit the mouth gaps rather than just saying what it means. And I have yet to find an anime that I've watched first in Japanese that the English voices did not drive me insane.

I've met Vic Mignogna several times, and I'll agree that he is a great guy and really loves his job and everything, but that doesn't mean I don't cringe every time I hear Fai speak English.

Also, who knows what they're going to do about the ever-genderless Crona..

I personally thought that the Full Metal Alchemist English dub was fantastic, though. Probably the best dub I've ever heard. I kinda prefer it over the Japanese... xD

I agree with the great job in FMA, I liked it more than the original dub too(the only anime). Whatever happens I will be forced to know who the English cast are. And watch it until the end, because I love SE that much xD (Even tho my ears will bleed during the process)
@ChibiPenguinChan, I agree with you, I prefer Japanese dub. Changing phrases, and at times, they dont pick the right voice actors for it...Or maybe its just me xD . But yea It bothers me :/
