This may seem on the vary surface to be inappropriate for this guild, but just keep reading.

I usually don't write down the dreams I've had, but the ending to this one is just too good for me not to! I was in a group of conservatives that met in a school room. I don't remember all the details about how I joined or exactly when it was, but in one meeting, the leader of the group told us that some people were well, misunderstanding the intent of the group and were really there for the wrong reasons, and that we'd have to fold up our chair and stand along the edge of the room with it. The leader then proceeds to ask each of us why we're here. The other group members gave their reasons,, and the leader would tell them whether they "get it [the purpose of the group]" and can stay (and obviously unfold their chair and sit down), or didn't hand had to put the chair up and leave. The leader then calls on everyone there in turn, and that person gives their reason. I don't remember any of the reasons given by others (nor are they important), but when the leader called on me, I started with something to the effect of "Well, I thought I was alone in my thinking and political beliefs, but then I found this group," and I think in the dream I went into how GW was going into progressivism, and then Obama (I haven't learned to dream lucidly yet), but then the leader responded: "meaning..." In the dream, I stopped to think. I then woke up, but I kept thinking. I then thought of how to put my feelings into words, but I won't reveal my answer yet.

I think it would be good to play out this scenario here, since the point of this dream, at least to me, is to get me to think about why I think this way.

We are in the band room, I'm at the center, and you are all standing at the edge with your chair folded up and in front of you. I call on you and ask, why are you here?

I am here to show the world I can think on my own without anyone, including the government, to tell me how or what to think. I am able to be myself without those in the government to tell me how. I am here to show that I love my country and I only want to be happy with my family in a free country. Progressivism is taking my freedom and I want to be free without having to be in the chains of socialism and communism with my friends, family, and those that I care about. That is what I'm here for.

I thought it would be nice to be in a place with like minded people who understand that not all change is progress, and as Bill Cosby said "change for the sake of change is dangerous".

When I first joined, it was because I wanted to be around people who shared the beliefs that I did. Now I stay because I want to stand up for what I believe in. I want America to be as great as our founding fathers wanted it to be. For people to be free from the control of the government and their horrid plans. I want to work hard to make a life for me and my family without other people telling me what to do and then taking a portion of what I make for themselves while they lounge around. So that is why I am here.

I'm here because I chose to be here. The government does not and shall never mandate what I do. I like being around people who think like I do, and I like being able to think like I do. I love my freedom, and I'll be damned if I let anyone take it away. Not when I can do something about it, at least. The world is lacking in common sense, integrity, and open-mindedness. I was born free, and I intend to die that way. I will stand up for my rights and defend my liberty, even if it costs me my life.

Why am I here? Because Paul Revere called. The British are coming (okay, so they're Progressives), and I want to help mobilize others to protect the country I hold so dear.

How 'bout now?

The answer I thought of after I woke up (from thinking in the dream) is that America was once the beacon of liberty and morality for the world. Over the years though, especially the past few, that beacon has dimmed, and is almost going out. I'm here because we need to be that beacon of liberty for the rest of the world.

The United States is unique because if you look through human history, it's all tyranny. The United States has been built from the ground up to ensure liberty and our Constitution sets out things that the government is not allowed to do to us.

I am here to stand up for what I beleive in. Also, I am irritated with the gov't and everyone telling me the "right" way to do things and Common Sense telling me that it is indeed not "right".

I'm here to fight for America's Freedoms, which have been stolen away from her and her people for to long. I am also here to fight for future generation's rights to life and their ability to think for themselves. I am here to be a guard against tyrrany and a warrior for liberty.
