"Hey hey, you stay on that couch, or god help me I'm coming over there and making you!" Kaithala turned around in her chair to send a sharp look at her silver haired boy. He was midway through climbing off the couch end near her and froze when he heard her voice. He was supposed to be sitting playing with the new plush toy she'd bought him, but as that venture had ended with a very sad lion's head sitting detached from it's body so she figured he'd found himself bored again. His ears pricked up to pick up on her voice and his tail began to droop between his legs, his eyes darting between her own and the space between the couch and the computer desk and the poor dead lion. "Ugh... fine..." rolling her eyes and her own mush heartedness she rolled her seat over to close the gap between the two of them. Eagerly Vitaliy clambered over onto her lap, his nails digging into her jeans. Kai scrunched her face in pain as they dug in. It was like having a housecat... except ten times more needy. He curled into her lap wrapping his tail around his body so that he could hold onto it. Okay... really he was kind of adorable when he wasn't ruining her stuff and tearing the heads off of poor unsuspecting stuffed animals. She patted his hair much like she'd pet a dog and rolled back toward her computer. "Okay, now let's find out where you come from..." She brought up her internet browser and accessed her facebook page. She'd make a new group. "Rethe Phonne's kids" Well no one had ever called her a creative genius... Group description For those of us who have received a mysterious package from this Rethe Phonne. Let's connect and see if any of us have any idea of what's really going on here! Those who have not been contacted by him only apply if you have some information about him okay? Well it wasn't a lot but it was a start, and hopefully she'd get some responses and a better idea of what was happening to her nice normal life. OOC Hey all you out there in real life! If you want to, because I think it'd be cool! Make a facebook page for your guardian! I've already made one for OCKai! Friend me with yours if you make one! James' life had a plan that he had so carefully set out on his blackberry. But it hadn't followed through- the child had arrived much more sooner than he had expected, and he was at a loss as to how to react. Antoine was away visiting his mother, and Julia just didn't seem to be the right person to talk to right now. He had felt bad taking two days of personal time for himself, leaving Zuma without any manager: but he couldn't avoid it. The girl was here, now. And he needed to deal with this situation. Which explained just why he was on the internet. Google had revealed sources that were abstract, except for one that seemed... promising. It talked about Rethe Phonne, and the owner's profile was limited. Still, he needed all the help he could get, and what were the chances that this would end up being a scam? Who knew enough, to make such a scam? James joined the group, and debated between sending the owner a private message and living one public: and decided, what the hell. Might as well leave something in the main group- maybe someone else who was browsing would need as much help as he did. James Fulton To sir or madam, My name is James Fulton and I believe I am in the same predicament as yourself. My package had arrived a couple of days before, and it has just recently revealed itself to be a small child. I am a single, unprepared parent and I believe I need all the help I can get. I do not know who this man is, and what I am expected to do- I am completely, utterly at a loss. I would appreciate any help, and do not mind giving my own should anyone need it. My contact details are on my profile, and should you require it, please do not hesitate to 'friend' me, letting me know in the message that this pertains to Rethe Phonne and our children. Yours sincerely, James Fulton. It was a lot more formal than he had intended, but it would have to do. Turning on the notifications, he decided from today, he would leave his phone on outdoors to ensure he didn't miss a single message from this new facebook group. Someone must have the answers...

She hadn't really meant to stay on the computer for so long. There was just so much stuff out there that needed seeing, or at the very least perusing. And you know, it wasn't like she didn't have a kid currently taking a nap in her lap... a kid that she was fairly certain would raise a ruckus if he was woke from his nap. ...Not that she catered to the will of some little furball, but some of those scratches hurt dammit. Still, she could always check facebook again, see if anyone else had turned to the net for answers about this Rethe Phonne fella. Honestly, she was surprised that there was a response, it'd come much more quickly then she'd expected. She clicked the link to the group wall and browsed over his entry. Okay, well he was a little more than formal, especially for the internet, but hell it was a response. Maybe he was cute, he was single... no no no, it wasn't the time for that! Smirking at herself she began to type up a response. Kaithala Pak Hello James! So you've got one too? Unfortunately I'm just as in the dark as well in regards to nearly everything about the kids. Children hatching from orbs may be a new worldwide phenomenon but there's scarcely any information available. Still it's nice to know I'm not alone out here! Umm... okay don't think I'm crazy but... does yours look like an animal too? I'm worried there may be something wrong with my boy... I don't know... I sound crazy to myself. Anyhow, feel free to friend me! We'll make this trip together! Oh yeah, my name's Kaitala but you can call me Kai or Kaith. There see, wasn't that friendly? And no scent of flirting anywhere in it, she was making progress as a person.

James rubbed the bridge of his nose as he lifted Aya. He didn't know anything about sizes, and babies and fashion taste and thus had concluded that the only thing to do was to physically bring the baby out to hand over to the whims of the saleswomen who must have more experience. The lilting tune coming from his blackberry had James set the child back on the bed. Scanning through the new email, he paused. The woman was fast: and this was an important step. "We'll go out in a second." he promised, turning back to his laptop. So he wasn't the only one with a child who seemed to be fused with an animal? He sat down as he began to type up his response, in public onto the main board. It would help anyone else who was browsing, he supposed. James Fulton Dear Kai, You have a little boy? Congratulations! You're not the only one. I have a little girl, and she's got the sweetest tuft of a tail and large ears... and fur. And spots. I'm guessing some type of deer, because I have to admit the first thing that popped into my head was 'bambi'. (Please don't hold this against me-- I've had someone tell me I've scarred her for life... and this is only day one!) What does your boy look like? What is he like? My child is quiet, so far... I'm to take her shopping today to find her something more appropriate to wear. I've send you a friend request, and I do hope we can help each other out in this... new situation. I'm still.. just James. James paused, looking at his message. Maybe he should delete it. Maybe he should shorten it. There was too much in the letter, and he realized how corny the ending sounded. But this was about his Aya, and somehow, somehow he lost all the skills he knew existed in him. Somewhere. Deciding that it would have to do, he published it and promptly send the woman Kai a friend request. He would deal with this later. "Aya, come on." her ears perked up from where she was still sitting, and he nodded. He'd deal with this when he came home...besides. His blackberry would keep him updated.

"I can't believe I'm doing this." Elissa shook her head as she put the basic information for her Facebook account into the computer. But, it needed to be done.
Clicking on the tab for the Google search, she copied the link onto the Facebook window and let the ancient computer kick into life. Once it loaded, she read the description over and over for the group. So, it was legit. There actually are orb-children out there.
Scanning over the wall messages, she sighed. So far, there were two others with these children. Now, Elissa was stuck. Both happy, anxious, yet nervous as all hell, she was going to be a mother.Elissa DeChaud Hey Kai, James.
The name's Elissa and well .. I've got the orb, but no kid came out of it yet. So, I really can't contribute much to the conversation .. at all. I mean, the orb doesn't do much except grunt at me occassionally.
Yeah, it's brown with a bear paw in the center of that fog s**t. I don't know. Maybe it'll pop out and look like a bear or something. Guess, I'll have to keep you posted on the whole orb situation. Elissa sat back and looked at the message. Hitting save, she sighed, shaking her head.

Kaithala bumped the door to her apartment shut with her hip, there wasn't really any other way to close the door as currently she had her arms full of wolfboy... He clung to her so hard that she almost didn't have to support him herself... that is if she didn't mind having sharp claws digging into her shoulders. Hefting him across the room she tried to deposit Vitaliy on the couch, a notion he did not appreciate. Scrunching his face up he keened at her as she pulled his grip off of her. "Just sit still for 5 minutes!" She said while giving him the stink eye. It was because of him that nearly nothing had gotten done at work today. Due to his... unique nature she'd been too afraid to try and find a sitter so she'd taken him to work with her. The plan had been to keep him in the back stock room, but as he'd freak out every time she left... she'd spent most of the day in the stock room with him and apologizing to her assistant manager. While he keened at her, she dumped her messanger bag an all it's contents on the floor by her desk before booting up the comp. "Let's see what we've got..." Hmmm, two replies this time around. And one of them from a girl in Vancouver, well that wasn't that far away! Proverbially rolling up her sleeves she settled to typing. Kaithala Pak Alright another person! Welcome to the fold Elissa! Okay... my boy... well there may be something wrong with him... or rather I think I did something wrong to him, I dunno. Me and an ex had a really bad fight near the orb and I think I "disturbed the sleeping sound" as it were... When he was 'born', well he's covered in bruises. I swear I did NOT put them there!!! But other than that he's also got wolf ears and a tail, not too mention the hind quarters of a wolf. And he's kind of vicious... >.> But I don't really know what happened... ...XD Bambi! Oh dear lord... Anyhow, I'm happy to know that there's more of us out there. Maybe if we get big enough we can get this Rethe guy's attention! Frowning, she sent off her message, hoping that they'd believe her about Vitaliy's injuries...

James flicked through half the messages he had on his phone. Zuma had run well without him, and he was due to meet his sister tomorrow at home to explain his situation. She would be a good baby sitter, or at least until he found someone else who was more willing to babysit the small child. At the thought, his eyes drifted over to the floor where Aya sat, chewing on a slice of pear as she continued to watch him. There was something slightly unnerving about the way she didn't seem to want to look away... Facebook turned out to be a wonderful distraction, and he smiled. Another woman, and a bear print? This was very interesting. James Fulton There seems to be a trend with our children, and I am by far more than relieved to know I am not the only one with a child who has displayed... animalistic tendencies. As for the bruises, it is quite interesting-- I suppose the environment we raised the orb in does play a significant role... James paused. Hopefully the orb was't self aware at that stage, because that was just weird. The thought of Aya watching him sleep? His eyes flickered back to the little girl to have her hold his gaze before turning away coyly. James smirked. What a little angel. James Fulton ... I do hope someone gives us more direction soon. Just a question towards you Kai: what have you been feeding your little boy? So far I've placed my little girl on a fruit and vegetable diet, but seeing as deer are herbivores, I'm wondering if I am allowed to at all introduce her to meat, or even cake. It is a pleasure to meet the both of you. Clicking post, James went to add Elissa as a friend on facebook: maybe he should create a new category called Orb Children? He wondered how many of them there would be, and whether this was the start of something life changing.

A pinch and Elissa was instantly awake.
Looking around, she gazed down at the large, furry infant snuggled up on her chest and couldn't help but smile. She didn't want to move him. Machk looked incredibly adorable snuggled up against her and wrapped up in his mink blanket.
But duty calls.
Slowly, Elissa got up; wrapping one arm around Machk's bottom and the other supported his back as she slowly rocked him and walked to the computer.
Trying to be as quiet as possible, she opened up Facebook to a new friend request as well as more wall comments in the group. Scanning the messages, she smirked. At least she knew it was real now and she was definitely not alone.Elissa DeChaud Thanks for the welcome guys.
So.
He hatched! Erm .. came out?! Whatever they do, my orb .. broke and out came .. him.
Remember how I said the orb was brown with a bear paw? Yeah, well .. he's half bear. He's got the fur of a bear, claws, nose, ears, tail! I just .. can't believe it's real? I don't know how to explain it, but you know what I mean I'm sure.
Kai .. you have a wolf boy? Wait .. you can actually disturb the sounds?! Oh boy. I didn't think you actually could .. but then again, the note does say not to disturb it ..
James, I actually had the same question. Considering bears are herbivores and all .. seems we three have a lot to learn ..
Where's Rethe when you need him?! >>; It was all necessary. Smirking, Elissa accepted James' request, added Kai and minimized the window.
The little bear fidgetted slightly in her arms and nuzzled under her chin before falling back asleep.
This felt good. Being needed.
Not being alone anymore.

All was silent... It was like her own personal miracle! Vitaliy was, amazingly, quietly taking a nap on the couch. His small body still curled around the heat stop that Kaithala had just been occupying. The blanket she'd drawn from the back of the couch drawn around his prone form. Carefully, quietly, Kaithala powered on the computer, being extra careful to not bump or rattle any of the flotsam and jetsam scattered across the top of the desk. Willing the computer to run smoothly, she booted up her browser and brought up facebook. Nice, both of her new found friends had posted again. So she wasn't hallucinating their replies and predicaments. Well, guess she couldn't cancel that cat scan now... Kaithala Pak Wow Elissa... erm, congratulations on your bear! Maybe they all have animalistic appearances? I mean we're 3 for 3 here right? James in reference to your question... I uh... well I wasn't sure what to feed him, so I've been buying beef jerky and tearing it into tiny strips for him to eat. But he did take a bite out of my apple the other day so I guess that's something. I've read somewhere that there are some wolves that live on fruit though so... it doesn't really help much. Sorry, I fail. Well I either disturbed the sound or... someone's been hitting my kid while I'm away... oh wait that's impossible since he won't leave me alone... -_-;; I think I'm gonna suck at this mother thing... Hey, can I ask you guys something? (Well tough because I'm going to!) Are you scared to take your kid out into the public's eye...? I mean, kiddies with tails and animal ears aren't exactly common place yeah? I've been hiding in my store's back room with Vitaliy everyday since he... "was born". Oh that's his name by the way, don't ask, I have no idea why I named him that. I went to high school with a kid named Vitaliy and it was the first thing I thought of... >.> (I know, but at least it's not Bambi... Joking James, I'm joking!) After finishing her entry out, Kai took a quick glance back toward her kid... by god's sweet mercy he was still sleeping. The day was looking up.

James scanned the two messages with a grin. A bear, a wolf and a deer. It sounded like the beginning of a really bad joke. Pausing, he shifted in bed, taking care to make sure he didn't disturb Aya. James Fulton I'm thankful of the timing of meeting the two of you. And you're right Elissa. Where is this mysterious man when you need him the most? An instruction manual would be enough... On another note, I've decided to name my little girl Aya Jane Fulton, and to answer your question Kai, I have actually taken her out. I think maybe in the beginning I was still too shell shocked to consider the implications. I've had people look at me strangely, but so far no...violent reactions yet. I don't mean harmful, but on a scale of 1 to 10, everyone has been treating Aya at a 4. As if they can't _quite_ believe what she is. I took Aya shopping, which was an interesting experience. At least she's a girl and I can put her in skirts and dresses, but I really don't know how to deal with her tail. And hooves. I suppose it's safe to say hooves = no shoes? Aya makes the oddest noises sometimes: I'm guessing thats the way deer sound in the 'wild'? I have to admit: I feel like throwing away all my parenting books and stocking up on national geographic shows, or something... James paused, realizing that his own post was growing much too long. More for private musings than for such a public... announcement. Still, maybe you needed to share more to receive more. Or something.

Due to the newness of the orb in Hui's life, she had turned to the internet for answers in not only figuring out what the song within the orb was but to find the gossip and and tidbit of news she could on Rethe Phonne or other of these Song children. She had nearly given up, bumping into many forums in which nearly every person claimed to have had one without any evidence of such. She was tired of all the fakes that thought it was funny to pretend to be in her predicament, they seemed to find it an amusing matter which was in her opinion quite offensive. What right did they have to make fun and belittle the phenomena?
Regardless, she was about to give up before she decided to flip through Facebook for a little while. She wasn't much of an addict and merely had it in order to keep up with the few friends that she'd managed to keep from high school and college; not to mention an easy way of finding and getting in touch with family in other places and her fool of a brother who was always roaming around busy with who knows what. On a mere whim, she decided to type in 'Rethe Phonne' and see how many fake ones would pop up. To her surprise, she didn't find very many. Except maybe a few groups, some formed by teenagers that though the whole phenomena was 'rad' and some other ones that protested it. But the one that particularly caught her eye was the one titled "Rethe Phonne's kids". Deciding that it was worth a try, she clicked it while glancing over at her orb sitting promptly on the couch not too far away from her, the usual melody drifting out of it. The song seemed to be growing in volume as the days progressed, perhaps it was a sign that the life inside was indeed growing into a baby...
Looking through the Facebook group, it seemed to be the most legit one around. She looked over intently on all the other members' comments and thoughts, being a rather stand-offish person she wasn't quite sure if she should join and talk with the others. Though of course it would be nice, still considering she had told no one yet... Overcoming her shyness, she decided to write.
Hui Ming Ying Um... Hello there everyone. I don't mean to interrupt, but I do believe that I am also going to be a parent very soon of one of these Song children. Unlike many of you though, my orb is not of an animal sound. It seems to be a song called Ordinary by the artist Nishikido Ryo. I'm a bit afraid of what to do, and I haven't told anyone I know since receiving the package. Though I know many of you have expressed that you're unsure of what to do with the child, I believe the only thing possible is to try to be the best parent that you can. Worrying about this Rethe Phonne is a bit of a helpless thing at this point, no use fussing over someone we're unable to get in contact with. Right? I think the best we can do is try to defend the children from the speculating public eye. As some of you have expressed fear of taking the child in public, I've also been contemplating this issue a lot. I wouldn't want my child being in the newspapers just for looking different... Or for that matter being born in a completely unnatural or unfamiliar way. Ah, I'm sorry. I think I've been ranting a little... I suppose I'm just upset with what some of the people have been saying in interviews on the news and such. Well anyway, nice to meet everyone. Please call me Hui.
Sigh... It seems I lost my train of thought while typing... This was another habit, going off trail and then kind of swerving about to get to the right place and not really ending up there. She closed her laptop and went to sit on her couch with her orb in her lap, closing her eyes and leaning back. They'll probably all think I'm weird... Oh well.

Well, starting this facebook group could very well be the smartest thing Kaithala ever did. Settling down into her chair, her faithful watchdog child snuggled down on her lap. It was getting to the point that she'd officially have to add his extra pounds onto her licences weight, and wasn't that a sad state of affairs? Kaithala Pak Oh, another one!? You guys are popping up like crazy! I never really expected to actually connect with people here, it was just you know... a shot in the dark or something. Oh man, thanks internet! XDD Welcome welcome Hui! So yours is based off a song? Interesting... a little different but wow, good to see that there's more to it than just animals. Not that animals are a bad thing... I know what you're saying about just going out and raising the kiddie as best we can, but... I'm really not cut out to be a mom... >.> I just didn't want kids, but it's not like I can abandon him, especially since he, well he's different. Eh, I don't know how to put it. I'll raise him, but I don't know that I'll do a very good job of it. Good to know that you can take the kid out in public and not get stoned. (Though in my case I might get harrassed by CPS... ::sigh:: ) Thanks for the update James. And yeah, I think shoes are out at this point for your little girl. Which is a tragedy as shoes, next to diamonds and pearls, are a girl's best friend. ~_^ It'll certainly save you money as she gets older. I keep thinking this is some bad joke and it'll blow over. Sorry if that makes me sound like a nasty ungrateful hoe, but I just keep having trouble believing I have a baby. At least when you did it the old fashioned way, you had nine months to prepare. I think I had the space of 3 days to get ready for this. And I assure you, I was NOT ready for this. Does anyone else feel like that? I'm I the only one who thinks this is a bit cruel to us, the newly found parents? Sorry, I tend to just spill my thoughts out without thinking most of the time. Kai sighed, hopefully they wouldn't shun her for not wanting a kid. Everyone else seemed... happy about it. She wasn't sure if she was or not.

A song? James scanned the messages left on facebook, drinking from a cup of coffee. Parenthood... nodding his head, he set the mug down before getting ready to respond. James Fulton Welcome Hui, I'm glad to meet you. And it is very interesting to know that yours is an actual song! Did you know what the song was before hearing it from the orb, or was that the first time? I wonder how we are chosen for the specifics of each orb. Why do I have a deer, and not something else? I have to agree on the issue of parenthood, I wasn't exactly planning on having children, ever. But now that I have Aya, I suppose I can't really imagine what life will be like without her. On another set of news, I am interviewing babysitters for Aya today-- how is everyone else handling the stress of a profession, and a child as unique as ours? So far I've been taking time off work, but I know this can't continue forever... and while I have taken Aya out, I would rather not send her to some public institution until she is old enough to defend herself. I am very, very nervous about this process. Having salespersons handling us for a couple of minutes is different, from allowing a complete stranger into Aya's life for several hours at a time. Ah, if only we all lived near each other, we could probably form our own little day care. smile Well, I'll be letting all of you know how it goes: smile but I'd love to hear how everyone else is planning on juggling this. James shrugged. He was nervous, but he knew he had to stop taking time off work. Zuma couldn't survive like this forever. And besides, he knew Aya needed a lot more social interaction as well. At the thought, his eyes drifted over to where Aya sat, and grinned. He would have to find some excuse to travel, one day. And have Aya meet all these other orb children.

Hui, with orb in lap, sat down to check her new Facebook group. It seemed that the others were friendly and normal enough. Everyone is on the same train of thought contemplating the 'never planned to be a parent' bit. Thinking about it, that part of the deal had never really crossed her mind much. She was quite accepting of that matter, of course she feared a little like every other normal person would about how good of a parent she could be but never the idea of not planning for it. Perhaps she was ahead of the game.
Hui Ming Ying I suppose I can understand where you guys are coming from... It never occurred to me the shock of becoming a parent on such bizarre circumstances. I guess the best you can do right now is come to grips with becoming a parent and getting over that fact, since your child is already born... It won't bode well for him if you keep dwelling on things that can't be helped at this point. (I'm sorry if I seem... Pushy. Just trying to give some suggestions...) Unless of course you don't intend on keeping him... There's always an orphanage I suppose if you're really not set on becoming his parent. And to answer your question James, no I didn't know what the song was before receiving the orb. I had to research it a little, which was a little difficult since it's in Japanese and mine is a quite rusty. Good luck on finding a babysitter though. I would definitely be extremely picky about that as well... People gossip, you know? Perhaps I'm just worrying about silly things at this point. I really should be preparing more for parenthood rather than thinking about all these unnecessary things about what society will think or say. But in general that will affect the way our children grow up...
Hui gentle stroked the orb in her lap. She still had yet to figure out a name for him or her... She should probably get going on buying baby things, she guessed.
Maybe she really was just worried about nothing, seeing how James had taken out his girl into public without any big hubbub. But then again, she had no idea what kind of place he lived. For all she knew it could be some small secluded area very much unlike her own living state. She would have to think about it another time and take care of the other things at hand.

Kaithala sighed, well that didn't got over exactly well. Frowning she tucked away her darker thoughts and began to think more on what the others were saying. She wasn't really thinking of putting Vitaliy up for adoption, no way, but she just wasn't sure what the hell to do with him. He was something pretty unnatural in her very normal world. Well it wouldn't do to dwell on it, not when there wasn't really an answer to it. Kaithala Pak Well I've been taking Vitaliy to work with me, my assistant manager keeps giving me strange looks but hasn't actually brought the subject up. Unfortunately there's no way I can keep him out of trouble without being by his side so I end up spending the day couped up in my stock room with him all day! (I run a bookstore by the way.) It's getting troublesome but I don't really think a babysitter is an option for me... not with my kid. I may have a friend who could help but I think she'd just run away screaming if she saw him. You're right Hui, what has to be done just has to be done now. So there's no use in just sitting around wishing for something else. I'm still just getting over my shock at the situation. Somehow life will work this out, I mean... it has to right? Life moves on with or without you. So I better get moving with it. Sorry, I'm just trying to pump myself up about this. Anyhow, so Hui, a Japanese song? Whoa... I don't know if that's going to be any weirder than our animal children. Keep us updated on the goings ons okay? Kaithala shrugged, well hopefully she was contributing... something to the conversation.
