Alright, so I've this RPG project in development and was thinking to myself about how to make money -- how doesn't need money? -- and started thinking to myself that I could take this RPG game and forge it into a card game to produce and sell to people. Basically it would be much like the RPG, which is played out more like a board game, but in a card game format.

Sets of cards would be 150 cards. Booster packs would contain 15 cards. Each pack would cost roughly around $2.50 to $3.00. Each box of cards would contain 30 packs, making each box around $90.00. Decks would be no smaller than 40 cards and no larger than 60 cards. An additional deck, called a side deck, would contain no more and no less than 20 cards that players can use to swap an equal amount of cards from main deck to side deck to bolster their strategies or change them altogether. Booster packs may or may not contain any doubles or triples but it will certainly be possible.

There would be all sorts of different cards to use, like characters, animals, monsters, spells, items, etc. to utilize during game play. There would also be other aspects with the characters, animals, and monsters that give them specific abilities based on the type of card they are that add to their strengths or weaknesses on the game field.

The story behind the game would be much like the history of the RPG project I've been working on but in a more general approach of armies and kingdoms fighting against one another to gain domination over the nation.

In my design of the cards, I shall attempt to make each card as valuable as the next. I have not determined a rarity system yet because I think it would skew value of cards even more by labeling them an uncommon or super rare card. So as I make the cards I will keep the belief that a card isn't as strong as the rarity given to it.

Since I'm not planning on this idea being popular over night, I do plan on having some kind of tournament rule guidelines and method to advertise as well. Ban lists will be different in this game than from some of the other games out there. Whole sets of cards will be banned or unbanned. However, I really don't want to ban cards so I plan on making all the cards as balanced as possible to ensure as many playable decks and strategies are available to players. The more stuff you can do in a game always makes the game more fun to play, right?

If anyone has any questions, just go ahead and ask. A lot of the answers I might not be able to give definitively but I will certainly try to answer them.

How would you make it grow?
It could be very successful, but if you don't continue to reveal new cards, stories, etc people will get bored.
