Mass Effect.
Very minor spoilers.
I've marked the slightly more excessive ones, though nothing is too bad, anyway.
_______
Went to the Horse-Head Nebula to investigate what happened to this person's brother.
Marked out a couple of destinations; the Bases, and other points of interest.
On the second point of interest, out of six, I got some materials and was surprise-attacked by a Thresher Maw. Screw this, I thought. It's not worth the effort.
I fled and went to the other points of interest. Also, one was an abandoned base, which gave me two more points of interest to investigate. Another was a trap laid by the Geth that I had to fight my way out of.
I've noticed by this point that I couldn't save my game file. Why the hell not? I guessed it was because I was technically still in combat with the Maw. Whatever, it'll probably let me save by the time I get inside, in a different location from the Maw.
Wrong.
I took extra care not to die when inside the base, as this would restart me from my last save. I didn't die, though I was brought pretty close to it at one point..
I found the person's brother's corpse, holding a data disk.
Gee, that sucks..
After finishing up in there, I decided to leave and return to the Normandy, so I headed back outside. Bad news.
I CAN'T F*CKING LEAVE THE MAP DURING COMBAT.
I drove the whole way across the map to get to where the Thresher Maw was (and I couldn't find it at first; didn't remeber where I left it). Then I saw where its nest was. Finally.
Eager to finally return to the Normandy, after a bit over an hour of work on this planet, I used the boost mechanism to get down to where it was, but my vehicle somehow gets stuck rather awkwardly on its side.
The Thresher Maw attacks.
My vehicle gets destroyed.
I have to restart from my last save; before I'd even encountered the Maw.
I officially hate the Thresher Maws even more than the Reapers.
_______
Also, do you feel that the legal repression of AIs in the Galaxy was the right thing to do?
Perhaps they are not all as bad as the Geth
or the Reapers.
Remeber the one at the Citadel? The only (obvious) reason it tried to kill the organics that it could was because it knew of the AI repression laws. Discuss.
