My Past Followed Me Home

Victoria and Alleren

They were high school sweet hearts, at least that’s what most people thought. They had arguments and fights just like every other couple but they still loved each other. After being together for three years, Alleren disappeared. Victoria was told that he had gotten into a car crash and that the car had ended up exploding. She had slowly fallen into depression, blaming herself for his death. They had gotten into a huge fight before he had left her home, slamming the door behind him. She thought that he must have crashed because his mind was still thinking about the fight.

She had threatened to break up with him then since she had seen him with another girl, whose name she didn’t know. The girl looked like she had been ready to do anything for him and Alleren had been holding her in his arms. Victoria had left, upset but then later on confessed to him about what she had seen, which, as you know ended badly.

Two years passed by and Victoria has started a new life, still trying to forget him and got another boyfriend but Alleren isn’t dead. He’s been alive this whole time.

After he had crashed, the girl that he had been holding, found him. She pulled him out of the car and a safe distance away from it, later making the car explode. She wanted him all to herself. The explosion was a perfect idea, since it made everyone think that he was dead. Afterwards, she had bitten him, considering the fact that she was what people called vampires. She had kept him by her side for two whole years, but he ended up killing her, not able to take it anymore.

Soon he found Victoria, though he didn’t show himself, instead he followed her home. It was easy now since he was a vampire...and that's where the story starts.

She sighed as she kept walking. After a long day of fighting and working all she wanted to do was sleep. Looking down the road, she realized she still had a long way to go before she was finally home.
Her car had broken down earlier, that piece of junk. It had run out of gas on the freeway and her phone had died as well, so her day was just great. She had left the car behind after she had locked it, deciding to just pick it up tomorrow morning, since she wasn't in the mood to deal with it now. Picking up her pace a little, she turned her attention to the sky. The moon was completely covered by the clouds but she could still see a few stars. Smirking a little, she kept walking.

Her eyes looked down at the ground. The sidewalk was worn down and had gum in some places, but hey, it was better than walking in the middle of the road where she could get run over. She looked over at the passing cars as one of them stopped a few feet in front of her. Crossing her arms, she stopped as well, waiting for a explanation from the driver. A window rolled down and his head popped out of the window. "Hey, want a ride?" he asked smiling as Victoria raised a brow. She didn't even know this guy and she had no idea what was going on in his mind. "No." she said shaking her head as he got out. "Are you sure?" he said, advancing towards her, still having that smile on his face. "Did you not hear me the first time?" she stood in her spot, waiting for him to leave.

"Yeah, I heard you but I'm sure you still want a ride. After all a girl like you shouldn't be walking around alone at night." he said as his smile widened. Victoria was about to say something but then she heard his voice. It couldn't be him. Her heart started beating faster as she glanced over her shoulder and saw Alleren. Victoria's lips parted as she tried to say something but couldn't. He was supposed to be dead....he had been dead for two years. She had never fainted in her entire life, but a few seconds later everything became black and she felt weak, soon falling to the ground. The guy looked at him then at Victoria. "And who are you supposed to be?" he asked as he kneeled down next to her, about to pick her up.

He looked up at him when he stepped in front of him. He was about to protest but then he saw the look in his eyes, he was ready to kill him. "Hey, calm down." he gingerly got up, leaving Victoria on the ground. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he took a step back. "I'll leave her alone, no need to be so angry." the guy said as he sighed. Well, his plans for the night had been ruined. Shrugging, he waved at Alleren, as a sign that he was leaving for good now. Opening the car door, he got inside before zooming off, leaving him in a cloud of dust with Victoria.

The darkness that had consumed her slowly began to fade. She blinked multiple times, remembering what had happend not too long ago. He was alive. Her eyes were on the ceiling and soon she realized she wasn't at home. Victoria slowly sat up, and looked around before her eyes finally rested on Alleren. Where had he taken her? Where had he been for the past two years? She looked at him, as her mind went back to the day that she had lost him.

She had seen him with another woman. He had been holding her close to him and it was obvious that the woman in his arms wanted him. She had left, not wanting to see what would happen next. Then later that day, she kept thinking about it when he came over before finally telling him about what she had seen. They ended up fighting and the noise level grew with every second. He had stormed out of the house, racing off in his car as she sat down on the couch, filled with anger and sadness.

Sighing, she blinked as if to make sure that this was all really happening, that he was alive. "Where have you been?" she asked, her voice was quiet. Victoria waited for him to explain himself. She wasn't going to jump into his arms just yet, if that was what he was waiting for.

She froze when she head his voice again, it was all too strange and just maybe she was imagining things. "Alright." she said in a hushed tone, nodding her head slightly as she looked at the wall that was in front of her. She couldn't look at him now....she was going to have to get used to listening to his voice as well. Victoria bit her lip, just so that it would keep her busy as he started talking.

She nodded her head once again when he told her about the car accident. She had walked there after the police had let her. They had told her that he had no chance of surviving at all. His body had been burned inside the car, and nothing was left of him. She had even gone to his memorial. Victoria glanced over at him when he mentioned her. Did it really take two years to nurse someone back to health? He couldn't even tell her, or send a note that he was alive and doing just fine.

She looked away, not wanting to listen to the rest but she knew she had to. He had already apologized twice to her, and she wasn't so sure she should forgive him. Hearing him explain what had happened that day, she sighed, pulling her knees up to her chest and resting her head on top of them. What could she do now? Chewing her lip, she took in a deep breath. "Where am I?" she asked, deciding to figure out where she was first.
