I'm going to have to say goggles and boots. I know it's a hairfalls and gasmasks guild, but I've got to say that I just love goggles. And I have a deep love for badass stompy boots that almost resembles a fetish. =]

I would say the aesthetics in general and the violent music. It really pisses me off when people dress a certain way without knowing the music or culture behind it...
I'm fond of the UV-reactive goggles, masks, and furry legwarmers. I have a neon fetish.
And ultra-platform crazy-a** boots. I have some 3 1/4" creeper boots that I'm in love with. Mmmm...

But my favorite part would have to be the music and respirators/gas masks. I just love how cool respirators look. If I could wear my respirator 24/7 I would.

@ Son of No Man and Electrosynthetic Auras: Posers........... ugh. Don't get me started. Although occasionally I get dismissed as a poser by other people simply because I refuse to act like an elitist b***h. And I'm also younger than most of the legit people I meet.

Oh god, dont even get me started on elitism. CaptainRedBeard and I from my guild had a long chat about elitists and how we think they ruin the scene because they deter people who may honestly want in the scene and enjoy the music, from truly enjoying it because they're high and mighty a** holes about it. We also discussed that elitists are more often than not kids who are new to the genre themselves and have looked everything up, therefore they think they know everything and are better than you. Our scene is supposed to be a community. Even alot of the older patrons will tell you that. We're supposed to be close knit and supportive. With out that support or community mindset, and what not, scenes fail because you gain few new supporters because of a** holes. There is nothing elite about anything, except maybe Harvard, Yale or colleges like that, but that's not what we're talking about!!!! There is nothing better about anyone else just because you may know more, or listen to aggro, or coldwave, or whatever. Chances are, we all listen to it, all enjoy it, and all want to discuss our opinion and our fandom of it. Downing someone for it is just uncalled for, in my opinion, especially people who are new and honestly trying to get into it.
And there's my rant.

You havent been around as long as us older people. But people older than me dont take me seriously either..some atleast. It's a terrible circle. But that's at least why I try to invite people to my guild who really want to get into what my guilds about. Just because you're young, doesnt mean you are just as geniune. If older patrons keep treating the younger gen like crap or posers, how will the scene continue to exist?

The first thing that attracted me was the combination of bright colors with black. Then I kept looking, and... well, of course I'm in love with the dreds, boots, and goggles. But I have a particular thing for corset tops they sometimes wear. Sometimes girls will have the black sleeved top that stops above their cleavage, and then they have the corset on and it looks so good.

If older patrons keep treating the younger gen like crap or posers, how will the scene continue to exist? That's the same with most subcultures. Goths, cybers, punks, etc. It's a problem. But part of it is just the age thing, the youngsters just aren't always in to the same things, partially for legal reasons.... not that I didn't smoke/drink under age, but I mean I was a virgin till just last year. So yeah, maturity is an issue. It's not just knowledge of the scene or an issue of sincerity.
And if that reply rambled or didn't make sense, it's 4 am and I haven't slept well all week. sweatdrop

Electrosynthetic Auras It really pisses me off when people dress a certain way without knowing the music or culture behind it... I understand why this would make people angry, but I like to think it's this: Maybe someone found a style one day that they think truly represents who they are. They find a picture of someone and think Hey, this is totally me! and they start to dress that way without knowing there's an entire subculture behind it. Hey, it could happen. To me, it's kinda like wearing something because it personally means something to you, even though you may not know (or don't care) the meaning everyone else has put behind it. However, in some instances, it can definitely help to know the meaning behind what it is you're wearing. I mean, in most places, you may not want to go around wearing a swastika because of the more widely-known meaning it has, even though it is also a religious symbol. Though I admit I can't ignore the people that just do something because it's "the cool thing to do". That I can justify getting angry with. Gah, I hope this is making sense. Anyway, even though this is getting into WALL OF TEXT territory... I really like the idea of futuristic fashion. Machinery, gadgets, technology, metal...fused with interesting shapes, silhouettes, and great fabric. Ah man, if only I had the perfect picture, haha! But alas, if you mixed all of this together, added some of this, threw in some of Steve Pyke's photography, and finally sprinkled on these guys.... You'd definitely have an idea, but still not a full one. XD Also, kudos to anyone who has the patience to click on all of those links. I love pictures, as you can see. Though this is not the place to have dumped some of them, I still wanted to give you that idea.

I love the silhouette. But i appreciate the whole art that goes into putting everything together. I looove getting dressed up in various clothing, as i do it quite often at home just because it's a fun thing to do.
Note, i don't have any cyberwear or anything like that...closest i have are a few pairs of platforms and whatever rave accessories i've collected over the years - but when i have spare money, it's definitely something i still plan on contributing to. I love the idea of fake hair that's huge, i love the make up, i love the masks (gawd they're such a turn on). It's all of it together and the art of building the look that lures me.
And of course to see what and how others perceive themselves as. It's always a thrill to see what people have to bring to the table.
