
I laid silently upon my bed waiting for sleep to overtake me. The emptiness of the room created that instantly recognizable hum. There was no reason for me to be alarmed, but the hum started getting louder. I felt smothered and I gasped for air. The hum became a screech piercing my ears and rattling inside my head. Writhing in pain, I fell off my bed and twitched along the floor. My room became illuminated with bright white light, blinding me and melting the room's colors into each other. My skin itched and I couldn't control myself. I blinked and in an instant I realized I was back in bed and covered in a cold sweat. That night I dreamt of true fear. And that night I became fearless
