NAME OF LOCATION - Stauros System
DESCRIPTION -
This planetary system was named for the Class M Planet found within its habitable zone. "Stauros" is a Greek word meaning "pole", "stake", or "tree", and in this case it refers to the heavily forested nature of the planet. Much of the planet's surface is covered in thick forests, and the planet itself is rich with vegetation. The planet is so heavily covered in plant life that it appears green from orbit, despite its oxygen-rich atmosphere.
LOCATION - The Stauros System is located in Sector I-7.
PEOPLE -
There are no native people on this planet, however the air is breathable and could support a human colony of a very large size.
CLIMATE -
The planet is rather cool in and of itself, though it does get warmer in the summer months. It doesn't usually drop below freezing except in the higher altitudes, making it perfect for a colony.
RESOURCES -
Gallicite is present inside rocky caves across the planet, however, very little else is present on the planet that would benefit a space-faring civilization. On the other hand, the planet is perfect for a healthy colony.
ASTRONOMICAL DATA -
The system's star is an unremarkable yellow star much like Sol. The first and second planets of the system are completely dead words of rock, long since stripped of their atmosphere. They'd now only be suitable for mining. Both planets are full of Duranium Ore that could be extracted with mining facilities.
