NAME OF LOCATION - Sutekh NAME: Sutekh II - Controlled by the Cestian Alliance Total Population: 1080 Border Status: CLOSED - Subject to Inspection for Admission
Class I Permit Colonies: 1/1 Population Per: 0/25,000 Orbital Structures: 2/2 Tactical Structures - 4/4 DESCRIPTION - Sutekh was named for the Egyptian God of the Desert, and rightly so. The planet is a Class H Planet with deserts covering virtually all of the planet's surface. There is no real surface water anywhere on the planet, except for some scattered oasis's, however there are numerous underground springs that can be reached with wells. The plants here are short, stocky, dry things that are used to getting little to no water over the course of their lives. LOCATION - Sutekh is located in Sector F-15. PEOPLE -There are no native people on this planet, however the air is breathable and could support a human colony, assuming they were rugged and could deal with the harsh temperatures and dryness. CLIMATE -The planet is hot, as a desert planet should be. Temperatures are freezing at night, and scorching during the day. Strong winds sometimes pick up around midday when temperatures begin to shift, and this often kicks up massive sandstorms that can go on for just a few hours, to weeks on end. This makes a replicator a very useful piece of technology... RESOURCES -Polysilicate Veterium is present in the sands and rocks of this planet, making it a goldmine for that particular resource, however, very little else is present on the planet that would benefit a space-faring civilization. ASTRONOMICAL DATA - The other planets of the system are nothing special. They are not extraordinary in any way and provide no effects on the region that would effect space battles, or aid in colonization.

S.S. PentallionNCC-76788"The black sea . . . I've never felt so at home all alone." Location: CASS Escorin - Sutekh Outer Rim Warp Factor: 8/Negligible - Full Impulse Stardate: 63729 "Disengaging warp drive, Captain . . ." There was a bright flash of light, and the CASS Escorin, having completed its two-sector voyage from the Beta Cestus system, appeared, looking no worse for wear. The impulse drives situated on the back of the Miranda's saucer fired into life, quickly accelerating up and into full impulse power, completing a preliminary sensor sweep of the system. --- Aboard the bridge of the Escorin, Milo Hobbes, looking far more comfortable in his role as temporary commander of the Escorin than he had upon the inception of their voyage, leaned forward, drinking in the details of the system with rapt eyes. He had never been very interested in Starfleet, considering it too Boy Scouty for his liking - not to mention he didn't like upstaging his twin - but this thrill from exploring untouched space made him realize the appeal. "Ensign Young, what have you got for me?" The young astrometrics officer, who had certainly made an impression on Hobbes when he had assumed command, was quick to summarize the packets of data he was receiving from the ship's sensors. "Three planets, Captain, one of which is Class H, but looks habitable, given the right conditions. Two gas giants, both Class J. The first, Sutekh I, has three moons, none of which is of much interest, and the second, Sutekh III, also has a moon, again of no real interest." Hobbes nodded, his eyes still fixed on the rapidly approaching brown topaz of a planet that was Sutekh II . . .

S.S. PentallionNCC-76788"The black sea . . . I've never felt so at home all alone." Location: CASS Escorin - Orbiting Sutekh II Warp Factor: Negligible - Full Impulse/All Stop Stardate: 63729 "We are now orbiting Sutekh II, Captain." The sphere of topaz that was Sutekh II took up the majority of the view-screen now, with the bridge abuzz with activity as information came in from all sides. Milo was more interested in what Ensign Young had to say to him, however. "Preliminary findings, Ensign Young?" The young Astrometrics officer was still looking through his findings as he replied, eyes darting from reading to reading. "Class H, sir - I estimate that around fifteen percent of the planet's mass is water. The rest is pretty arid - deserts make up the majority of the landmass, with a few oasis's on the surface, but I think most of the water is subterranean. It's colonizable, though; you'd have a reasonably easy time of creating a well or two that could sustain a small community. Relatively useless metals - gold, some silver, lead, the usual . . . but quite a large amount of polysilicate veterium, if my sensors are correct. Enough to justify a mining operation of not inconsiderable size." No wonder the Alliance was interested in this planet - colonizable and a goldmine to boot . . .

Location: CASS Escorin - Orbiting Sutekh II Warp Factor: Negligible - All Stop Stardate: 63729 After determining the rough composition of Sutekh II, the Escorin started to survey the native wildlife. As one would expect from a Class H planet, there was very little - some vegetation, mostly thirsty wisps of grey and brown that provided neither nutrition, aesthetics or any kind of benefit that the science department could determine, and while there was the usual abundance of bacteria, there was nothing that could be termed sentient or indeed interesting. Milo supposed that, in a way, that was a good thing - after all, who wanted to colonize a planet filled with ten-foot-tall dinosaurs that could rip their way through duranium? No, Sutekh II was still more than viable . . .

Location: CASS Escorin - Orbiting Sutekh II Warp Factor: Negligible - All Stop Stardate: 63729 There wasn't much left to survey now that the Escorin had mapped the system, taken scans of the planet that seemed the most colonially viable and assessed native wildlife - all that remained was to ascertain how difficult it would be to establish a colony. Not horrifically, as it turned out - the air was an oxygen-nitrogen mix that could sustain any species capable of living on an M-class planet, if slightly thinner than, say, Earth or Beta Cestus III. The climate was exceedingly hot and dry, the temperature difference between winter and summer only a few degrees - but, with the right set of colonists, the right infrastructure and the right colony, people could easy live here.

Location: CASS Escorin - Sutekh System Warp Factor: 7/Negligible - All Stop Stardate: 63729 It had been a long survey mission - Milo sometimes thought that months had passed, only to shake his head and laugh at himself when he saw the stardate - and Milo, if not everyone aboard the Escorin, was rather glad to say goodbye to Sutekh, the planets not unlike spheres of Egyptian sand suspended in space as the ship turned around and made for the edge of the system, heading back to Beta Cestus III . . .

~ Sutekh Orbit ~ Sutekh - Cestian Alliance Territory - (Population: 0) Defenses: None CACB Miocia. Cestian Alliance. Captain Valok Mora. Fleet In Orbit: CACB Miocia (Alliance Construction Barge, U'tari Class - Alliance Territorial Establishment Variant) - Arriving in SutekhCACB Arcium (Alliance Construction Barge, U'tari Class - Alliance Territorial Establishment Variant) - Arriving in Sutekh~ Space Around Sutehk ~ ______ Valok was one of several Alliance-loyal, Romulan-born Captains serving under the Cestian Alliance and who, just like the other thousands of Alliance personnel, would gladly give his life to defend. Just because his enemies shared a common biological distinctiveness, did not make him prone to "Green Fever", a somewhat derogatory but humor-some "technical" phrase that his Chief Medical officer had coined up. Ever since Valok had been granted command of the Cestian Alliance Construction Barge, the Miocia, for his knowledgeable specialty in orbital and geosynchronous fabricating and assembling, many have always marveled how that had come to be. Back in the days of earth, when one ethniticty went to war against another, any other races living in one country that one was fighting against, were held in a somewhat "suspicious level". Because apparently, race dictates loyalty.______ Valok liked to consider himself a shining example of the contrary. Of course he had Romulan friends back in the Empire from the days before the rebellion and of course they still remained friends, but Valok knew exactly where his loyalties lay and how extensive they were. If a Romulan warbird were to decloak in front of his vessel he was commanding, he would do just as any other Alliance Captain would do in a situation of facing an armed opponent with an unarmed vessel:______ Ram them at full speed.______ Maybe somewhat funny, but it was true. He'd willingly give his life and, if it meant it, the lives of his crew, to destroy or even harm the enemies of his people: the Cestians. He was no longer a Romulan person. He may be Romulan in genetics, but he was Cestian in home. He'd take out the enemy whether they were Romulan, pre-peace Klingon, or Pirate. It didn't matter. His loyalty to the Alliance was not something to be questions. These and many other thoughts were shaken form his mind as his Ops signaled that they were now pulling into position and Helm was cutting power. It was time to get to work. His gaze filtered out through the massive viewscreen in front of him as gravitational, centripetal, tangential, and all other matters of geosynchronous orbit information filled down on the view screen.______ It was just another day at work.Construction on Unidentified Objects: Day 1
