I'm actually pretty excited about the upcoming release of the Goblet of Fire film!
I kind of have a tradition with the HP movie premieres. I go see them opening weekend religiously, and am always disappointed by them. I don't like the movies that much, really, but I see them anyway because I'm a fan, and a hopeful one. This one, though, looks great! I read the synopsis on Mugglenet and was quite happy with what was cut and what wasn't. It may help, in a way, that GoF is my favorite of the books. I look forward to it most, but also know that I'll be most critical with it. So far I've seen no reason to be disappointed, and I'm happy about that.
So...
Will you be seeing the movie?
At the midnight release?
From what you know now, is there anything you wish they would change?
Do you like the HP films in general?

SweetMelissa Will you be seeing the movie? Yes. I always see the Harry Potter movies at the cinema, because it is so much better than just watching it on video or dvd.
No. I'm too lazy. And I doubt it is being released at midnight in this country.
SweetMelissa From what you know now, is there anything you wish they would change? I don't know anything. What do you mean? I haven't seen it yet.
SweetMelissa Do you like the HP films in general? Yeah, they disappiont me and yet I enjoy them.

Acidic Cynic SweetMelissa From what you know now, is there anything you wish they would change? I don't know anything. What do you mean? I haven't seen it yet. Sorry, I do realize that not everybody ruins these things for themselves like I do, but I've been reading every piece of information I can wrap my brain around. I read a couple in-depth reviews and one synopsis of the film already. It was basically a scene-to-scene guide telling what they've kept and what they haven't.

Acidic Cynic Naughty naughty, you're ruining it for yourself! Incidentally, where do you find that synopsis? LOL - Actually, I first found it linked on the subforum. It was on a quickly failed thread about how "awful" the movie was going to be. I guess the thread author didn't approve of the cuts that were made or Hermione's pink dress or something. rolleyes I'm trying to find the essay for you but I'm having a hell of a time with it. Perhaps Mugglenet got in trouble and had to take it down (it really did basically spell out the entire film). I'll keep looking, and post the link if I can find it.

SweetMelissa Will you be seeing the movie? Yes. No matter how much the last one irked me there is no way I could stay away. I'm sad and addicted like that Nope. There is one but I'm not allowed to go. I might sneak out though ninja some of my friends are going and have a ticket for me. I'm just not sure if it would be worth it if my parents found out. SweetMelissa From what you know now, is there anything you wish they would change? The Death Eater hoods, they are far too KKK and just silly looking to me. SweetMelissa Do you like the HP films in general? I liked the first one alot, the second and third weren't all that great. The slimey swamp monster werewolf really bugged me. Oh well, not much I can do about it. In spite of it I still watch the movies

Or a mixture of either, just some badly thought out comic book mutant?! Grr!!!!!!!!

I saw it last night. I didn't have high hopes so I wasn't too dissapointed. I loved the part were Snape is banging on Harry and Ron's heads xd . They cut out alot but the movie would have been way too long if they hadn't. I only have one true complaint and that is the overly long Hungarian Horntail scene, it was really didn't need to be that long. Has anyone else seen it? If you have what did you think of it?

I did see the movie last night midnight, and I don't think it's spoilage to complain that someone was apparently under the impression that the Tournament was the heart and soul of the book, rushed the exposition to get at it, and dropped the movie once the shiny toy of the Triward was finished. Still, I got almost everything I wanted out of it ( twins!), and it was probably truest of all the films to the spirit (if not the letter) of the books. Even with the ugly pink dress, the Yule Ball exceeded expectations. Most of the changes were totally wastes, but some (notably the way Fred asks out Angelina) were well worth. Despite my giant disappointment over the movie, I oddly suspect the entire series would be far better off had Newell not turned down the first film...?

I actually saw it twice on opening day. Once at 12:20 am and then again (after some sleep and work) at 10:30 pm. I'm not disappointed at all. I completely approve of all the cuts and changes that were made. I got the same feeling with this one as with PoA, though, where it feels like us HP readers are in on a secret. That is, if we hadn't read the books first we'd be losing quite a bit of the story. I try not to let it bother me, though. I'm shying away from the HP boards on IMDb and here right now because of all the fanboys (and girls) who are going nuts over all the tiny details they left out. GoF is my favorite HP film so far (not that it had much to live up to).

I saw it midnight on opening day and agree with Melissa, it was my favorite so far. It didn't try all that hard to cram in everything, it focused on one part of the plot and stick with it and did that well. I think I would have been dissapointed if they had tried to fit everything in because they just couldn't have managed to do that and still make it fun to watch. One thing did confuse me a bit *SPOILER* They made a big hubub about Sirius in the begining but after he and Harry arange to meet we never hear about him again (that I can remember anyway). I had expected them to leave the whole thing with Sirius out. I found it weird how it was added but only halfway. After the arrangements I had expected them to show the meeting. *END SPOILER*

I saw the movie at the 6:25 showing on Friday. Sadly, I wasn't able to go to the 12:01, one. As for the movie, I myself, thought it was great for being based off the book. The ONLY thing I didn't really like about it, was in the begining it seemed WAY to rushed. And as for the "KKK"ish hoods. I thought that was pretty good, just because the Death Eaters are against a certain, if I could say, "race". So, I kind of thought it was a good way to put it. Mind you, I'm not "for" the KKK or anything like that, but it kind of symbolized it. sweatdrop The first part in which we saw the Death Eaters, that actually creeped me out. sweatdrop But, as I said, the only thing I didn't really like, was how they sped through the beginning.
I was actually happy about the part with Voldemort and Harry, although it wasn't exactly what I pictured, and their should have been more Death Eaters, it was very well done.

For those of you that have seen it, what was your favorite part? I loved the scene where Fred asks Angelina out. I was actually anticipating it the second time I watched it.

I just went last night. I liked it. Yes they changed a lot of things, but I liked the way it was made, the Quidditch World Cup was awesome, and the Death Eaters...
I still want Harry to have green eyes and Voldemort to have red eyes...
