We all know that humans evolved from mere mammals. They weren't the only creatures to do so though. Vampires. They were, at first, a deformation of the genes. The deformed monkey (specimen B) started to become allergic to sunlight. After some incident, it got the taste of other animal's blood and, well, it started to develop faster with all your lovely vampire mutations. Werewolves were caused by specimen B who had infected a lone wolf (this is later down the road, were humans actually started looking like humans). The deranged beast (wolf) then began to attack humans, and bingo, you've got lycanthropy.
In 1938 came a horrific outbreak. The idiots at the University of London, England were working on a process of immortality. After capturing (kidnapping) several different specimens, they conducted horrible and unthinkable acts against human rights. they had killed off four out of the five main subjects in their experiments. When the fifth one passed on they figured they would pull in a new bunch and try again. Go figure, they had risen these subjects from the dead, no soul, only human instincts.
There you have it, your classic Zombie. So the outbreak started, many civilians died and Britain fell. Scotland, boarding England, built a huge wall to keep them out though there have been rare cases of zombies in the streets all around the world (news travels fast and so does infection, in this case).
To the present:
It's year 2034 and the United States is in disarray. After a huge political debate broke out (which lead to warfare in 2019) lead the country to divide itself into five different states.
Southern Slums: It boarders Mexico and the government is heavily corrupted with money, booze, sex and drugs. It's a horrible place to live as crime rates are at an all time high leaving many citizens fearing for their lives (buying arms to protect themselves).
Eastern Republic: A state in slightly better condition than the Southern Slums though the government isn't really an improvement. At least the crime rates aren't as high and the whole place is livable.
Western Regime: Controlled by the contradictory Northern Democracy, the Western Regime is one of the states that is the most livable. They may be a puppet regime for the Northern state but no one really complains about it and for good reason.
They have these people, known as the 'Nightwalkers'. A set of selected secret police (in a sense) who go around in the middle of the night and take away a loved one, never to be seen again. We will return to the Nightwalkers in a moment.
Northern Democracy: Believe it or not but the N.D is slightly controlled by Central, the last and final State. They have a joint protection pact, in a sense, where Central takes over if they are directly or indirectly attacked. The Northern Democracy is like that of the Western Regime, great living space though the fear of the Nightwalkers is still in the air.
Central: The central state boarding all other states. It is the most heavily guarded but most wealthy. There are only rumors of Nightwalkers here though they are supposedly myths. Central gave control of the Western Regime to the N.D in 2020, after easily conquering the unstable government. It was part of the negotiations in the defense pact.
The Nightwalkers: A group of secret agents working under the cover of night. They work to keep the population of vampires and werewolves down, along with protecting the citizens from any possible Zombie infestation. They are not directly tied to the government of Central (because if they were and someone found out the governments would go to hell), rather, they work as an independent organization with no ties to any other state. Like the Central Cards, the Nightwalkers have the same sort of system of identification however they have two separate regiments (being the Red Diamonds and the Heart Hearts). Both have an Ace and there is only one Red Joker (the wild card).
The Central Cards: The main government force. Each hold a position from Jack to King (Spade suit) which is their rank. The Ace of Spades is the secret card and more or less a secret weapon 'just in case'. There is also the Black Joker which is a wild card.
Our main story would take place in the Western Regime, where these Nightwalkers conduct their work.

" I can't breath, my god It hurts! Gahhhhh. My whole body is on fire!!! Agghahahahghghghh!"
" We got him m'am."
" Collar him, we will have use for him in the future."
" Ryan! Run, they will kill you! No, Ryan run! Save yourself!"
" Hello there monster, that's right it smells good doesn't it. Quite an appetite you have, but don't worry. The doctor is in."
" You will be our instrument...the blade...a god among men." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Xev sat alone in his dark cell. They fed him daily, but it wasn't like he lived at all anymore. It sure beat dying though, at least something was better than nothing at all. The memories were buzzing in his head again, and the collar around his neck tightened a bit. The disease that plagued him was worse than an addiction. He constantly had the urge to take his alternate form and slaughter everything in sight. The collar was hte only thing left keeping him sane. The eyes of 600 people still haunted him. Always the eyes staring at him, all those poor souls he tore apart and devoured. He was satisfied with his circumstances, after all he deserved to suffer for what he did...at least that's what the cards always told him. A red light lit up in his cell, and he perked up a bit. It meant he might be able to get out and enjoy some fresh air...at least while he tracked down and killed a lycan, vampire, or zombie horde that needed to be rubbed out. He stood up waiting for the door to open.

"Hello there Xev." Spoke the familiar voice of Mary, the tall, blond babe of the Science division. "It's your lucky day, you've got a nice pack on your hands." Mary held a classic clipboard in her hand as she started to unlock the coded cell. "Orders from the head. You are to-" she looked at her clip board for a moment to read a loud the mission, "track and kill three vampires tonight as well a single lycan. The poor bastards." Mary finished decoding the cell and the cage buzzed open. "Once your mission is complete I want you to return the lab number #26 for a physical. We will be needing to record your muscle mass, activity and such. You know the drill." She stepped back from a few paces to give him room to exit the cell. "Also, so a full briefing, please head up stairs, conference room number six. Valentine will be there to give you the statistics." She smiled maliciously at him with a slight keenness. He was her favourite, her favourite play thing that is. Xev as a fine b*****d of a creation, something so unique and different. Anything that stood out from the crowd she just had to play with, learn everything about it before tossing it away. In this case though, Xev never made her lose her interest in him. He was just so fascinating for her to toss away. "Have fun," she cheered.

"When do you think we'll get our next assignment?" Shigen asked, legs propped up on the couch as he sat awkwardly.
"I dunno. how long has it been, a week without a single nudge?" She replied, sitting on her bar stool to the back of the room with a Scotch on the rocks in her hand. She took a sip, finishing off the last of the whiskey before sliding it down to the lonely bar tender who was cleaning out another glass. "Filler up" she said in a stale tone. The bar tender looked at her with a concerned expression on his face as he sent her down another drink.
"Geeze Ellie, that's your fifth one already. They'll cut you off soon you know." Shigen replied not bothering to move from his spot.
"Oh hush, it's fine. I'm not even a bit tipsy yet." She downed the drink quickly just to annoy him before swinging to face him. "Why don't you get read the news or nap or something?" She shrugged, crossing one leg over the other.
"Don't feel like it."
"Whatever floats your boat." Ellie said calling up yet another glass. The bar tender shook his head and complied to her request as he prepared the sixth drink.

Xev nodded, fully aware of his existence as a mere instrument. He didn't really care too much for Mary. She seemed selfish, the kind that clawed their way to the top, taking out everyone on the way. He may have been the monster, but she seemed truly evil at times. He sighed, walking out of the cell. He tugged on his collar a bit, adjusting it to be a bit more comfortable. Or at least as comfortable it could get. He despised the thing, the way it felt like it was choking him all the time, digging into his skin and scraping, but it let him take charge, instead of his baser instincts. He rarely spoke, but he was sure Mary liked him better quiet.
"Yes m'am. "
He stepped past Mary, grabbing the black light armor from the wall hanging as well as the backpack with extra clothes. They always provided him with a few items to ensure he wasn't made public while on mission. It was obvious he was her favorite. There were several other captives she experimented on and observed, but she always spent the most time with him. The fact he was still there after 10 years meant she at least had ot grown tired of him. He was thankful that when she entered the organization 10 years ago, that she pushed to allow him to assassinate now and then. 30 years w/o sunlight takes a toll on the psyche after a while. He stepped into conference room 6 and waited for his mission briefing.

Valentine was a rather nicely built individual with blood red hair. She had been sitting in her overly large, black leather arm chair. Her hand were clasped together on table as she watched him enter. "Welcome Xev." She said bluntly moving back to sit in her chair. "I believe it is time for your briefing." She pushed the chair back and stood up, clasping her pale hands behind her back as she moved over to the projector. She clapped the lights off before pulling down the large sheet to project the images on. She then walked over to the small built in computer and began to bring up the file. In a Presentation slid show, she started to fill him in. "These are the three vampires you are going after." She spoke bluntly point to the first three individuals. "They've been feeding on the locals in the Western Regime a bit too much. Seventeen bodies have been discovered and the citizens are getting ancy let alone suspicious." She clicked on the first picture to pull up a full profile. "This is Eric Dobson, 38, 5"11". He's been wanted in the area for two months now and unfortunately, the police cannot handle him. He's too dangerous for them but he should be a piece of cake for you. No pun intended." She then clicked on the second image. "This is Fredric Ghost, 29, 5"6. He is literally a ghost, no one can find him. He's also a new born and extremely propelled. Take him out quickly because he has a tendency to pull out an unusual trick from his hand. He's a pro and likes to set things on fire." She stopped and clicked on the third image, turning to look at him. "This is Audry Burnam, 17, 4"5. She is a tiny thing but is stronger then you would think. She'll be a bit of a handful though seeing as she speedy and not to mention strong." Valentine let out a smooth sigh before moving to the last image. "This is your own werewolf for today. Name is unknown but he has been spotted around the area lately. This one seems to have a purpose, attacking but not killing his victims. It appears that he is starting his own pack." Valentine did not smile. She stood there as she turned off the projected and then pulled up the sheet before turning on the lights again. She then walked over and handed Xev a folder. "This is the information I just showed you, as a reference. You know the drill, in and out." She then started to walk back to her desk and when she sat down she said, "You are dismissed."

He observed each slide intently, absorbing the information like a sponge. Another one of his 'gifts', as Mary liked to put it. He could learn at a nearly geometric rate. Enemy strategies hardly surprised him anymore. By the time they employed them, he usually had his fill of their flesh. Vampires were the worst taste wise, dessicated corpses always had a rather dusty texture and rotten flavor. Zombies and werewolves were not too tasty either, but they were better than vampires. Humans were the best, but they never let him even dream about that. His infection was rapid, spreading in a matter of seconds in the host.
" Yes m'am."
He stepped out of the office and made his way to roof of the building. He sighed, letting his alternate form emerge. He shook his whole body, letting himself adjust to his alternate form before taking to all fours over the roofs of the city. The hunt was on now, the wind whipping past him as he cut through the city like a speeding bullet. He began to catch the strong scent of un death. He could count three scent trails in moving in the city. He figured whoever was closer would be the first to be destroyed. He caught a male's scent very close by. His slit eyes caught sight of a middle aged man grappling with a young girl. As the man ripped off the gothy dressed girl's spiked collar heard a demonic like growling all around him. He handled the girl roughly, screaming at her.
" Shut up b****!"
He looked around a lead pipe in his hand was held at the ready. Suddenly a black scaled hand burst forth through his chest. His dark blood was sprayed all over the poor terrified girl. The dismayed vampire looked down at his dead heart, held in the raptor like claws. Before the vampire could react, Xev proceeded to tear the vampire in half, flinging his legs against the brick wall. The girl ran screaming as Xev proceeded to devour the remains, essentially 'cleaning up' the mess he had made. His next victim was not too far off, another male vampire, trying who had been using the shadows of the back alleys. The ghost sensed he was being stalked and pulled a a brown bag from his pocket. He lit it and threw it down around himself to create a barrier.
" No one finds the gho...eeughghgckckkkk."
He was soon impaled from above by a long black scaled tail. He coughed hard, twitching from the massive damage that had been inflicted through his midriff. He was lifted up onto the roof where only a blood curdling scream was heard. Blood dripped slowly from the roof, as Xev feasted upon the former ghost. Feeling accomplished, he stalked the werewolf next, in need of washing out the nasty vampire taste from his mouth. The werewolf took a bit more time to find, the scent was mingled in with several other lycanthropic odors. Xev was excited about this though. The more werewolves the better. He soon found the pack stalking a few victims. There were only five lycans so far. Valentine had been right about this guy making a pack, and from the numbers he had been busy.
Before they could all strike the campers they had been circling, Xev jumped down from the trees he had been following them in, cleaving off the head of one of the lycans. The other three charged, trying to rip him apart with their claws. It was obvious they were new to their forms, foolishly charging him. He ducked each one, disemboweling each as they flew over his razor sharp claws. The leader, his main target snarled, angered by his sudden loss of the pack. He circled with Xev, snarling, trying to figure out his unusual opponent. He leaped at Xev, dodging a flurry of claw swipes, only to land right into xev's open claw. Xev clamped down hard, his strength beginning to crush the lycan's windpipe. He growled ominously at the lycan, and then opened his jaws to their maximum width, biting the lycan's head clear off his shoulders.
The body crumpled to the ground, reverting to it's formerly human form. Xev snarled a bit, letting the blood drip from his snout before looked to the campers who were still sitting their in terror. He stared at them in a terrifying manner before roaring at them. The campers fled in terror screaming about a black demon. He picked up a phone from teh blood stained grass, and began dialing Valentine's number. He spoke quickly in his monstrous voice:
" I need a sanitation team in sector three, and a witness capture unit. Xev out."
He threw the phone to the ground, crushing it beneath his massive clawed foot as he leaped back into the trees to find his final target. The girl was not at all hard to find her scent was obvious. It wasn't long before he the sounds of trash cans flying and screaming could be heard from behind the bar Ellie and Shigen were resting in.

Valentine listened to the quick conversation before hanging up the phone as the line was cut. "I must admit, he does a fantastic and thorough job." She then picked up her black, land line phone and dialed the number to the clean up comity. "We've got a bit of a mess up in sector three. Get over there quickly before word spreads." She hung up the phone and then made a call to the second unit to dispatch on the group of campers.

Shigen had fallen off the couch wen he heard the ruckess going on outside of the bar. "What in the bloodly hell-" He stood up and looked over to where Ellie was. She had already started out the door, black trench coat on and all.
The two had arrived on scene to watch a foul creature devour a was appeared to be a helpless, dead girl. "What the F*ck is up with this thing?" Ellie said staring at the raptor like creature.
"I have no clue-" "Who the hell are you anyways?"

Very little was left of the vampire girl as the creature turned to stare at the two, it's eyes slitting more to adjust to the sudden change in light intensity. The remains of the girls torso to the ground. It made a soft squishy kind of sound as it impacted. The creature rose up on its hinds legs, taking on a very human like stance, and began to sniff the air. It was a horrific sight to behold, it moved like a cunning hunter, but was shaped like a lycanthrope, exhibiting human and animal like traits. It stopped sniffing for a bit, taking a few steps back. It growled, upon detecting Shigen's Lycanthropic condition. Shigen and Ellie could now fully see the collar around it's neck. The tech was definitely not civilian nor night stalker. Shigen could smell vampire and werewolf blood all over the creatures snout and claws. It had at least not been killing humans, but it's behavior was odd. In a low gutteral voice it addressed the two.
" Night...stalker's..."
It stood it's ground, calculating the perfect escape route. Night stalker's were not the enemy, but they were not necessarily friendly either. Valentine wanted him back, and Mary was certain to be impatiently awaiting his return.

Shigen caught onto the collar first and sighed. "They've got you running all around like a pet now..." he muttered. "Damn bastards." He too knew the only good thing about the organization was that with their collars they were able to keep a rampaging beast from devouring all in sight.
Ellie crossed her arms and planted her feet. "Well that explains it especially seeing how we've become slightly less needed here." She shook her head and turned to go back into bar.
Shigen watched her for a moment and then turned to look at Xev with his cold, silver eyes. "It's degrading really but it's not something we can choose freely." He shook his head and looked up at the sky muttering a curse under his breath. "Tell Central I said hi. Let them know that we are expecting a call from them about the current situation. I would like to have a word in person but that won't do, not for them at least." With that he bid the lycan fellow goodbye before walking back into the bar.

Xev listened intently to their speech, he had fully expected them to shoot first and ask questions later, but they were surprisingly diplomatic. He was dismayed at what he had become, formerly a college student with every chance to excel...now the government's personal killing machine and pet. He missed his humanity more than anything, but he could barely remember anything else but the bloody claws and the taste of soft flesh in his mouth.
When he finally arrived back at Valentine's office he nodded to her taking a seat.
" The targets are dead m'am. I will proceed directly to the lab as per Mary's instructions, but m'am. Two night stalkers encountered me while I was finishing the job. They told me to tell you that they are still awaiting a situational brief about the area. The silver haired male relayed a greeting to you as well."

Valentine was sitting in her usual chair when Xev entered the room. "Very good." She replied to the succession. Valentine combed a piece of her vibrant red hair behind her ear as she turned to look out a non-existent window. "If you would mind holding on for just a moment before you leave," she said not looking directly at him. "I have something else for you to do and Mary is not to know of it." She paused for a brief moment as she folded and unfolded her hands. "You are normally are tracking and hunting unit, however I need you to go undercover for a short while. That as well as, once I notify you, you will pick up the package and return it to me at once, is that understood?" She turned to him with a strict look on her face before it lifted into something that was not as hardened. "It has been approved by the highers, that you are allowed to take a break from your usual work, hunting and then returning." She sat back in her chair as she started playing with a piece of hair. "It's sort of like a field test. We want to see how well you can work in a specified division."

Xev tilted his head, shocked by this sudden clandestine situation. Killing was all he knew, but he always did what he was told. It was best not to argue with the Central cards, after all they had everything over him, his life. He nodded to Valentine, understanding the basics of her request.
" When shall I begin m'am?"

Valentine smiled as she stood up. She leaned down to scoop of something of a light weight. She tossed him a black backpack with two pairs of clothes and a few little extra items. "You leave when I dismiss you." She grinned walking over to the computer. "As for your partners...you'll be working along side our little nightstalkers unit. After all, they wanted an update on the situation after all."

Xev caught the items Valentine tossed to him with relative ease. He tilted his head still slightly confused by the sudden change in his routine. He looked to Valentine, somewhat happy for the first time in a long while.
"Mary will be upset when I do not return to the lab, but I have orders. What about my collar m'am. Will it not seem suspicious to the night stalkers? They have seen my other form with it on."
