Hallows are the creatures we fight. The first way to defeat our enemy is to know our enemy.
The hollows are a race of evil spirits who feed on the souls of humans, both living and dead. Hollows are created when the soul of a dead human is neglected by the Soul Reapers until it is overcome by loneliness and/or rage, at which point it changes form into a monster with a white mask.
When not hunting humans or souls in the human world hollows reside in Hueco Mundo, a dimension between the human world and Soul Society. Hollows are undetectable as long as they remain in Hueco Mundo.
A Hallow's abilities differ, almost like shinigamis and their zanpaktos. Usually, the larger a hallow is the more powerful they are.
It is said that if you destroy the mask of a hallow, the human face of the hallow appears.
Some more powerful hallows can regenerate limps or body parts at an astounding rate, be wary of these.
A generic but powerful attack of the hallows is Cero. Cero can only be done by much stronger hallows, and is a devastating attack. It's basically a blackish red blast of pure reishi, but it can easily incapacitate a shinigami that is unaware.
