Wind walked down the path silently. It had been a while since he had last seen a town. I really should find someplace to stock up on essentials. . . I'm getting low. he thought. He looked behind him to see if the Waterfowl was still following him.
Starla gave him a reproachful look as she continued to pad along behind him. She ruffled her feathers and stuck her beak in the air.
I wonder when that bird'll leave me alone. he thought. Even though he would complain about the creature he was semi glad for her company. He had gotten used to her and even gave her the name Starla.
With a sigh Wind stepped off the path and sat under a tree. "Might as well take a break." he said as he stretched.

Athena was walking down the path silently. She never knows that her footsteps are silent since it is the normal way she walks. Even though she never can tell, she is always pleased when one is startled by her approach. She didn't necessarily know where she was going, but she felt as if something was leading her there. Of course she can't turn down an opportunity to be away from mankind either. Then she started thinking about her new life. Did you see that Waterfowl? That thing can eat anything! And how about Dumas? With Dumas, there are three types of spaces. The space up in the sky, the space between me and mankind, and the space between his ears. Ah, and Alexander. He thinks he's all that just because he led a war. I hate people like him. Well Mr. High and Mighty, your time of rein is about to end...

Starla settled down next to Wind and nipped at him when he tried to touch her. Then she looked up when she heard something. She may not have the hearing of a Wouf, but she certainly wasn't deaf.
Wind looked down as the red bird next to him stiffened and began to stare intently up the path. "What is it, Starla?" he asked. Soon enough, however, his question was answered. A Leekozri came into view. She had armor and a strange looking tail. Wind sat up a bit straighter and watched her with slightly narrowed eyes.

When Sakura Wind came into her view, she automatically got her tail ready just in case. She was slightly disturbed by the fact that he didn't run away or flinch or be frozen in his spot. Is he glaring at me? He better not be. Well, lets see if I can scare him... When she reached him, she said, "Do you glare at me sir? Be careful with your answer." As she said that, a pleased look came into her eyes and she swished her tail back and forth behind her as if she was aching to use it.

Wind stared up at her in silence for a bit before closing his eyes and slowly rising to his feet. He was now taller than her as he opened his mouth to speak. "Are you trying to scare me? That sounded awfully like a threat." he said as he looked down at her. He narrowed his eyes again and said, "I don't take kindly to threats."
Starla looked up at the two from her spot on the ground. She ruffled her feathers, not liking the tension she was feeling.

Athena was displeased with the fact that he was taller than her, but she wouldn't let him see that. "Well...what if it was a threat? What are you gonna do? Huh? Step on me?" Then she laughed, and as she did, she lifted her tail so it was just about a foot over his head.

He glanced at her tail as she raised it before looking back at her. "Well I don't normally fight women, but if you strike so shall I." he said. At the moment he held no weapons on him, but that didn't phase him one bit. If she thinks she can beat me, she's in for a world of hurt. he thought as she waited for her reply.

Athena smiled. "Man, If you think you are a match for me, then you need a new pair of eyes. This tail..." She gestured toward her tail with her eyes, "Will kill in seconds. I was born to kill and kill alone. I have speed, strength, precision, keen eyesight, and no mercy." What a proud little fraction of a man! she thought.

Starla gave out a hiss and stood up. Giving the two of them a reproachful look she turned around and wandered off down the path, leaving the two Leekozris alone to deal with their squabble.
Glancing at Starla as she hissed Wind flicked his tail. As she left he turned back to Athena. "Why don't you go run along and do some cooking and cleaning and leave the fighting to men." he said.

Athena was surprised. No one has ever spoken to her in that manner. "You dare talk to me that way! Women mature faster than Men! Men have more heart attacks! More strokes! No Man tells me what to do!" Her voice has never been this frightening in her entire life, and she was pleased with how angry her voice can get.

He blinked at her as she yelled at him. Then he shrugged. "So what? Men are stronger. Women can multi task better. Men are more suited to fighting while women are suited to taking care of the home. I'd suggest you drop this before you get hurt." he said.

Athena was trying not to make a scene, but it wasn't working very well. "That is your average woman. Not me. Got it?! As I said before, I was born to kill. I show no mercy. With a flick of my tail, you will be dead. What do I have to say to convince you?!" When she said this, her face was twisted in anger. When she looked like this, It was easy to believe that she was not normal.

Wind said nothing as he looked down at her. Finally he said, "Alright, if it'll get you to shut up I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you could be a formidable foe." he said.

Athena felt slightly irked by his manner, but she was internally pleased to have won, but she wouldn't let him see that. "Now...What is your name...or shall I just call you pinky?"

His eye twitched at her remark. "You can call me Wind." he growled. "And I suppose I should ask the name of this woman he thinks she could beat me."
