Overview:Velociraptor was a mid-sized dromaeosaurid, with adults measuring up to 2.07 m (6.8 ft) long, 0.5 m (1.6 ft) high at the hip, and weighing up to 15 kg (33 lb). Their jaws were lined with 26–28 widely spaced teeth on each side, each more strongly serrated on the back edge than the front—possibly an adaptation that improved its ability to catch and hold fast-moving prey.
Their enlarged claw, which could be over 6.5 cm (2.6 in) long around its outer edge, was most likely a predatory device used to tear into prey, possibly delivering a fatal blow. Their tails probably provided balance and stability while turning, especially at high speeds.Information from Wikipedia

Behavior:
Velociraptors are extremely aggressive creatures. Although they cooperate to take down prey, they usually are not pack-orientated. They will fight over food and sometimes over nothing, usually to just display strength. Females are not as aggressive as males until eggs are involved. They usually are solitary creatures, only coming together in the chance of a potential meal and for mating purposes. Some may form a small pack of three or four if they trust the others enough but even then fights are guaranteed to happen.
Velociraptors communicate with various snarls, screeches, growls and other sounds. Communication between them is rarely seen since they'd prefer to stay away from others so their food isn't stolen.
There are a few velociraptors that fall into the kind category. They are extremely rare and are taken advantage of for food.

Mating:
Velociraptors aren't completely violent all the time - they are able to show affection to their potential mate. Males will often offer the female the corpse of some prey they caught. If she accepts and eats it, usually the two will mate. If the female refuses the food she will simply go find another male who is two her liking and offers the correct type of food. The prey has a lot to say about what the male can catch and if he can provide for the family, or, if he has any good genes to pass on.
Females who are usually more docile in nature, become completely aggressive when their clutch is laid. They might harm their mate and sometimes it drives the male to leave the female. With that said, velociraptors do not necessarily mate for life. There are reasons a male will leave a female and vice-versa.
