Overview:A fully-grown Smilodon weighed approximately 55 to 360 kg (120 to 790 lb), depending on species. It had a short tail, powerful legs, muscular neck and long canines. Despite being around the same size as a tiger or lion, Smilodon was more robustly built, comparable to a bear.
Smilodon had relatively shorter and more massive limbs than other felines. It had well developed flexors and extensors in its forepaws, which enabled it to pull down large prey. The back limbs had powerfully built adductor muscles which might have helped the cat's stability when wrestling with prey. Like most cats, its claws were retractable.Information from Wikipedia

Behavior:
Sabertooth Tigers are solitary mammals, who only coming together usually for breeding purposes. They have vast territories and only allow their cubs in their territory until they are adults, then, they drive them out. Each personality is different depending on the individual, but they all retain their solitary persona.
They live up in mountainous terrain, making their dens in the caves that coat the mountainside. Venturing down from the mountains, they'll hunt smaller mammals. When they are down in the forests below, they will try to socialize with other sabertooth tigers, although it is a very short meeting as they retreat back to their cave.
Sabertooths communicate with various growls, snarls and strong body language.

Mating:
Mating occurs at any time of the year as Sabertooth Tigers do not socialize often. Males will usually be aggressive in courting the females while, rarely, the male takes a more subtle approach. Females who disprove of the male courting them will lash out and fight him to prove she does not want to mate with him. If the female likes the male that is courting her, mating will proceed.
Once mating is over, male and females go their separate ways and the female is left to raise the cubs. Females are usually pretty good with taking care of their young but raising up to three cubs is very hard and sometimes some are lost within the first few weeks due to issues (lack of food, cub wandering off, etc.).
