The Maretin Desert is one of the most largest in Dranen. In fact it happens to be larger than the Mountain range itself. And the only thing within it are the small villages that are close to large oasis or rivers, and lots of sand.

Scry leaned against an old well with her arms crossed and looked around. "There's no one here Cy. And the well is all dried up we have to move on!"
Cyrus looked over at his sister, "No not yet. There's something here." He went into one of the ruins of the village. "There's something here, I can feel it."
Scry sighed, "Well can you at least tell me what you search for?" After several moments of silence she moved from her place on the well and moved to stand in the entry way of the ruined house. "Cy?" She looked around, then saw a tunnel that went down below the desert floor. She moved to it and looked down. "Cy?" When there was no answer she got a little worried and went down into the tunnel then walked a ways from the entrance. She pulled her staff out of the harness on her back and spoke an ancient word and the staff lit up. But then, so did the walls and she found herself gaping at the sight around her.
Cy heard something, then the walls lit up then he turned and went back to find Scry staring around her, then noticed her staff glowing. "When you spoke the word to light the staff, the walls lit up also?" When she nodded, he did to. "Lets see where these tunnels lead." He turned and went down the now lit tunnel.
Scry didn't have anymore questions. She just followed her brother down the path.

Star stepped from the portal into the ancient temple then waved her hand closing the portal behind her. When she turned she saw nothing but her own reflection in the large portal. To anyone's eyes it was only a large mirror, to others such as herself it was a portal to other realms. She turned and studied the ancient temple itself and thought that no one had come here in centuries. She walked down the empty halls and to the entrance of the temple then down the pathway that sloped down into what was once an ancient city. Then she looked up the cavern walls and the ceiling so high up for the temple was not above the desert, but below it. Star moved down the pathway and into a tunnel that led to a more, magnificent cavern that seemed to sparkle with what seemed like its own kind of underground starlight. There were two tunnels that led out of that cavern, she went through the larger one.

Scry had noted that the tunnel kept leading down, deeper underneath the desert. She wondered what it led to and who had lived here. She sighed and looked at Cy and continued to wonder.
Cy stopped when the tunnel split up into three different tunnels and examined each one. Finding something satisfying he began walking down the far right one that seemed to have leveled off no longer heading downwards.

The large tunnel led out into another large cavern, this one much larger than the last. Though the cavern did not really seem like one at all, for all around the floor was green, a soft moss that looked like grass yet wasn't. Through the middle of this greenery ran a slow flowing river and at the farthest end of the cavern was a waterfall that seemed to come out of the wall itself. Plants also grew along the wall where the water came out and spilled over into a pool and then into the river that led through the tunnel system. Star came to the river and took a drink from the water, the most purest, clean water, then sat and rested awhile.

As she rested she let her senses roam around the underground and around the temple. She became alert when she sensed other presences closing in on the Temple. She moved her mind into the ethereal and moved her ethereal body to the location of the disturbance. She sensed a male and female heading down the tunnels that had lit up in response to the females magic. She relaxed when she sensed that these two meant no harm and were only exploring. She noted that the male was intent on finding something and the female did not have any idea where they were going. She came back to her body and opened her eyes and gave a slight smile. Siblings she thought for that was the sort of bond she sensed between the two. She remained where she was and waited to see where these two would turn up before she continued on her way.
