 The point of this thread is to keep you informed on our status. How the guild is doing, projects in the works, etc. The Guild Crew will be able to post up guild related news right here. Just a quick update on our first day as a guild. Ziggy Starrdust and Junpai Iori donated funds to help pay for the making of this guild, so thank you so much to both of you! You are the best! I am really happy to report that we already have a handful of members and some chatting and activity going on in the forum! blaugh We got our first incredibly generous donation from Zimly! ::much applauds to Zimly:: Thank you so much Zimly! We can now afford 3 Subforums!! Congrats to us!! Any suggestions on what those should be? I am in the process of adding photos to the guild, making the forum more fun and interesting looking. I will also be adding information threads about his albums, movies and thinking up possible contests we could hold. Lots ideas in the mix so please check back often!! That's it for now. Thanks to everyone for making the first day of The CUlt of David Bowie's Guild such a success. heart

That's all really great news!
As far as the Sub-forum purchases go, I'm thinking we could use:
A specific place to post all games and contests
If we are going to do RP, I think that should have it's own space also
Maybe a seperate section for all fanart?
I'm not sure.
What do you think?

NEWEST UPDATE: 6/13/09
We now have 6 Subforums! Thanks to everyone that helped bring those funds together! I have assigned the Subforums as such for now:
New & Headlines - Post up and breaking Bowie News here!
Games, Contests, Trivia & Giveaways - As the guild grows I already have a few contests in mind and when they begin they will be posted here! So check back often. We will also have games and trivia just for fun. And I will occasionaly give items away when possible!
Fan-art, Cosplay & Other Tributes - (hopefully one day) a huge gallery of all Bowie related forms of art, admiration and flattery! smile
Roleplay - KimCare started us off with a Labyrinth RP! Thanks! I made a seperate section for any and all RP stuff!
Chatterbox - A place for any and all non-db chat!
Guild Suggestions, Questions & Comments - Help us make this guild great! Give us your opinions!
Please let me know if you think these are good choices or if they should be changed, because I can edit them! smile Do we need any more subforums? Let me know! Oh and I found a lovely Gaian named: Killer QueenBash, who will be helping up with some thread layouts to help spruce up the guild!! More to come, check back soon!

UPDATE 6/14/09I opened up our first contest! You can check it out in the "Games, Contests, Trivia & Giveaways" Subforum. I'm looking forward to the entries. I have some more contests in the works too, so be sure to check back in that Subforum! I updated the guild with the lovely photos that KillerQueen Bash made for our guild! Truly stunning work!

UPDATE: 6/16/09Hey Everyone! I hope you're having fun in the guild so far; getting to know each other, chatting, playing games and all that! I just wanted to let everyone know what we have been up to: KillerQueen Bash has had some great suggestions and opinions on making this guild a better place. She started up some games (including prizes) and has made the beautiful images that you have surely seen all over the guild by now! So as a result of her participation and help to this guild, she has been invited to be part of the crew! ::cheers!:: At this time, we no longer need donations via the guild homepage. Those funds can only be used to buy subforums, and at this time we have a sufficent amount! Thank you so much to everyone who donated and helped us get so many subforums so quickly (We are up to 7!!) We have created a 'Guild Mule' Gaian Account. So, if you would like to donate funds to use for prizes, events, contests and so forth, we have set up a 'Guild Mule' Gaian for this purpose. You can view the profile here: The Cult of David Bowie We can't buy the Guild Mule's trading pass until 6/18/09 (It takes 3 days to buy a new account a trading pass.) UPDATE 7/1/09Hello again everyone! I haven't been on in a few days, so I just wanted to post up a quick update. Our contests were lacking entries, so I have extended all the contests for 1 month. Let see if we can get some entries!! We have guild gold that we are dying to give away! I am hoping to set up some guild group dates in the video lounge! I will post up an announcement with the date/time for our group outing! I was thinking we could get together in the video lounge, watch a movie, chat etc. It sounds like fun to me, so I hope others will be joining me. More to come.

UPDATE 7/9/09Hey Everyone! Just wanted to give you another update. Lots of stuff is in the mix right now. I am really happy to annouce that we are now up to 80 guild members! The guild has gotten a lot more active since we've gained so many more members, and I can't tell you how happy that makes me. I love being part of a community of Bowie lovers!! xd Hopefully, we'll continue to grow! We got a beautiful FrontPage (and Guild Banner Links) donation from Saint Savvy! Thanks so much for being so generous! They are all so lovely! And I think it makes our guild look soo different from anything else on Gaia! heart We now have 9 Subforums! A new subforum has been opened up for the latest Bowie news (CDs, Movies, Porject updates, tours, etc..) and we also opened up a 'Guild Group Activities' Subforum, see below for more info! I am planning some group activities. I would like to start hosting Monthly 'Group nights' where we all hang out to chat live (in Gaia Towns, or in the video lounge) I thought it would be good to have a subforum specifically for group events and activities. We can plan times to hang out in the video lounge and watch our favorite videos, or find a meet up time to play zOMG! together, and so on. I haven't announced the Date/Time of our first event just yet because I haven't finished planning it. But all the info will be posted with time to spare and I hope to see you there! So check back in the Guild Group Activities for the latest update! Since there we no initial entries in our contests, I extended both of them til the end of July. I'm happy that there have been a few entrys now since I extended it, and I am hoping by the end of the month, we will have lots more entries!! You can check out the contests going on here, in the Games Room! I've also added some new Games and Trivia to the Games Room, so be sure to check it out! UPDATED: 7/11/09Hey everyone! I have another update for you!! I got a lot of guild requests today, which of course made me very happy! We've jumped up to nearly 100 members! We are currently at 94 members! That's so great! Thanks to all of you for joining! I finally got our first guild group event up and running! We will have a Video Lounge Group Date! If this proves to be a popular event, I would like to have these events monthly, so please help me make it a sucess by joing in! Sadly, I could not get Labyrinth at this time (the video I had was deleted and I am having a hard time finding a replacement... but I am working on this situation, so hopefully we can watch Labyrinth for next month's viewing!) What we do have to watch is a nice mix of live footage! I chose many different songs and took from different time periods. You can view the events full information thread right here!We had enough funds for a new subforum - What should we use it for? Suggestions would be very welcomed. We still have lots of contests and game ideas coming up! I will be putting up some more game threads, with prizes, like dice games and bump thread. UPDATED: 7/14/09Hey everyone! In case you were wondering about the Subforum that says "Under Construction..." I am planning a really special section of the guild that contains an indepth biography, photos and tracklistings for all studio albums, information and photos for all his film roles, and lots of other stuff. But it's going to take a lot of work, and I don't want anyone to see it until it's ready to be revealed, so it's set to 'crew only' for the moment. But not always, I promise I will finish with it ASAP!

UPDATED: 9/18/09Hey everyone! Sorry it's been so long since my last news update! I've been super busy in real life, trying to get some personal things together. Anyway, as you may have noticed, the 'Bowie History Hall' Subforum has finally opened up! It has tons of detailed information on him and his musical projects, so if you've ever wanted to learn a little bit more about him, now is the time to do so! I will be adding info on more of his CDs, movies and other projects in the future! You can view it here: Bowie History Hall There is also a subforum for "Affiliates" now too! So if you would like to advertise for your Gaia art thread shop, or another guild you own or are a part of, you can do so there! Check out the Affiliates SubforumI am planning on setting up another Guild Group Video Lounge Movie Viewing! This time around, we will be watching a favorite movie of mine: "The Linguini Incident"! I hope you will all join me in this awesome event! I am currently thinking of setting it up for Friday, October 2nd, 2009 at 5:00 PST if that is okay with everyone! Please tell me if it isn't so I can make changes!
