Not your typical beach, small rocks and sand separate the waves from the cliffs. As the wind blows it catches the tips of the waves and carries water droplets to the shore. Pieces of driftwood and petrified wood are scattered throughout and sand pits are visible and have been used for occasional bonfires. Common activities here include surfing, cliff diving, and nighttime barbecues.

A rock bounced off the waters surface multiple times, going in a straight line. Sam stood at the water's edge, throwing rocks into the ocean, sick of the boredom his life was currently holding. After a few moments, he sat down on the rocky surface and looked out into the water, losing himself in thought after a few minutes.

Leah was taking her time walking down the trail to the beach until she looked up and saw Sam. C***, of all the people that could have been here today. She hated having tourists or off-reservation kids here, but now she would prefer to have them around instead of him. To avoid contact with him she took a different route to the shore to go surf, taking her surfboard off trail and going to the opposite end of the beach.

Taylor was alone. All of his friends had stay at home probably sleeping due the hours. At 7 am on a Saturday nobody that he knew would be at a beach when the meteorology said that it would rain. But Taylor loved sports and he had decided to surf. Looking from the cliffs around La Push’s beach he was the only black spot on the water beside the rocks. He was above an extremely expensive surfboard, a red and silver board. He had moved to Forks a few months ago and he was already the most popular guy on school. He didn’t like that but it was good to be on a country that had the same population of his last school in New York. After two hours on the water Taylor had to exit so he could rest for a bit. He landed his board on the sand and lied down. The sand was cold and the rain was falling into his body. He stayed there without worry about anything else. He didn’t notice anybody there and after some time he fell asleep.

After arriving at her favorite launch spot, she dropped her backpack and looked at her board. She sat down in the sand and began to make preparations for surfing: tying the safety strap to her left ankle and making sure the fin of her board was in top condition. She had not surfed in a long time because of her school work and decided to take up the pasttime this weekend. Leah stood up and tied her hair back, not minding the cold. The heat that emanated from her body was enough since she was a werewolf. That was one of the benefits from being a mythical monster. However, because of that, she had to stay away from Sam as much as possible or he would be able to read her thoughts. She took a deep breath and made sure her rush guard was secure on her body. After tying her board shorts securely, she took her board and ran to the water.

When she began to paddle on the water, all of her thoughts disappeared as her mind became one with the waves. Don't fight them, work with them... The wind went against her face, mist sprinkling on her forehead and cheeks. Her muscles then prepared themselves for the wave she knew was going to come and a smile spread across her face.

Taylor woke up when he felt steps on the sand. The water falling on his face helped him opening his eyes when he looked to the direction where the sound had been. He saw a girl with a surfboard. Wow…a girl surfing here? He thought. When he moved he thought that the girls in Forks would all be like the ones that he had on his school: they only liked sports like volleyball and gymnastic. It was different watching a girl surfing there…in the middle of nowhere. “Are you from Fork’s High School?” he yelled to the girl that was near the sea. He had never seen her so it was strange. He had got up and started cleaning his surfboard when he noticed that his backs were all full of sand. He would have to go to the water clean himself but first he looked to the girl waiting for an answer…she was beautiful with that dark hair falling through her neck.

Leah seemed to snap back to reality when she heard a voice call out to her. She stopped paddling and then sat up on her board, a little irritated that her alone time had been ruined. Turning around she saw a boy who seemed around her age and she seemed surprised that she had not seen him there in the first place. "No, I'm not. Why do you ask?" She almost glared at him, since he was obviously not from the reservation. Despite his muscular build and cute face, she couldn't help but dislike him already. She tapped her fingers on the board, waiting for his answer.

“Well…I’ve never seen you before and I’m here for about four months in Forks. And you seam to be different from the girls from the high school. ” he replied looking closely to her. His eyes were the prettiest that he had seen until now not to speak on her body. But suddenly he remembered that he had to clean his backs so he walked towards the water. “By the way my name is Taylor. Can I ask yours?” he asked with a stupid smile on his face. When he understood that he quickly stopped it and turned his head to the dark water in front of him. When he reached the water he gave a quick dive and all the sand disappeared. Then he exited the water so his body could dry faster. It was almost lunch time and he would lunch with his friends.

"Leah." She responded bluntly. She wanted to cut off all contact with Taylor and return to surfing. However, something seemed to pull her to him and she couldn't turn away. She saw his eyes go down her body and it made her feel uncomfortable. Sighing, she slid off her surfboard and stood in the water, hiding her body under the waves. "I go to the Reservation school." She explained to him, a bit smug. She wondered why he would even talk to her. Usually kids like him would avoid her and she would avoid talking to them as well.

“Oh…I see pretty name. The reservation...” He said. Then he noticed that she had become embarrassed with him looking to her body and he smiled. “Do you mind if I surf with you? I have some time before my lunch and I can help you if you want…” he said with a bigger smile than before printed on his face. It was weird. Normally Taylor would jump and kiss the girls near him but this time no…he was talking with her! His green eyes looked to the sky when the sun shinned. This should be the first time since he was in Forks that the sun appeared behind all the clouds. “That meteorological b******!” he whispered. Then without waiting for her answer he picked his surfboard and went to the sea. “Come one!” he yelled so Leah could hear him above the noise of the waves. The waves were good to surf like always but he was already a little tired. That didn’t matter. He had just met this beautiful girl and it wasn’t because of that that he would not be with her. Taylor was persistent and normally he didn’t give up from anything. Even if Leah didn’t show any interest on him he would continue trying.

"Whatever..." Leah murmured in response to his questions. She looked at him quizzically when he looked up at the sun. Then, she remembered that he had only been here for a while. Seeing him pass her Leah sighed again and then began to paddle to catch the next wave. She caught up to him, "I don't need any help, thank you." She said smugly. She smirked at him and then moved ahead. "Bet you can't nail a tunnel!" She yelled back at him, almost teasing. She then caught her breath, what was wrong with her? She bit back her tongue and focused, determined to beat Taylor to the wave.

Taylor smiled. It was obvious that Leah didn’t know that in NY he had won the 3rd place on the New York surf competition. He liked that she didn’t know him, he was sick of all the girls that knew all about his life. It would be hard for Leah to win on any sport to Taylor, especially surf and football but she would discover it by herself. He passed by Leah in the middle of the wave with great speed and did some incredible movements with his board. He jumped on the air for about 7 seconds before landing in the water on his red board. Then when the wave has passed he did a mortal above the board so he could land underwater next to his board. He laughs. It was almost impossible do something better than that on that wave but he didn’t knew that girl…it was strange because he thought he knew her since he was born.

Leah sat back and watched Taylor, taken aback by his moves. However, she had some moves of her own. She smirked at him as she passed to take the next wave, sensing that it was going to be bigger than the last. She placed herself so that she was parallel to the shore and then leaned her weight on her left leg, downing the fin a bit to cause a tunnel to occur. Then, she transferred a little of the weight to her right foot to channel her forward under the wave, feeling water droplets fall on her shoulders. At the end of the tunnel she turned until she was almost vertical and climbed up the wave dangerously. She turned her board and now rode on top of the wave, a grin on her face as she felt the thrill of the danger.

When the wave died she let her board glide on the waves until she was next to him. She jumped off, causing a splash and then resurfaced on the other side of his board. "Beat that." She challenged him. For some reason Leah couldn't help but smile at him, still feeling that strange pull toward Taylor.

((just wondering, do u surf Josh? i used to))

Taylor looked to all that with his mouth opened. How could a girl do that? That was too dangerous even for him. But he smiled…what a stupid reaction! Then he got up to his board once more. Three waves passed through him but no one was good enough, then an enormous wave appeared and Taylor looked to her waiting for the right moment to catch it. “Do you think it’s hard to catch you?!” he said almost on an automatic way. Never a girl had won him on a sports match and he didn’t want this time to be the first so he went on the wave in the right moment. While in the wave he jumped, his boards made a serial of spins under him at an incredible speed while he did a mortal jump above it. Then he landed on it with extremely careful and he continued in the wave. Next he was going to do a dangerous but cool move when his board crashed with an underwater rock breaking in two halfs. He didn’t know very well that beach yet. It was only the second time that he had done surf in Forks so he didn’t know the places where that rocks were. When his board broke he was pulled towards another rock and when he crashed he heard a terrible noise. His right arm was broken. And his board was diving. He knocked with his head on the rock loosing his conscience for a bit. And his leg was bleeding but that wasn’t a real problem. He stayed there unconscious being pulled by the waves.

((No I don’t. But I like it. My sport is swimming..xD. I did bodyboard once but some years ago…))

Leah, seeing the immediate danger, went to shore to leave her board there, untied the safety on her ankle, and then dove in to get Taylor. She grabbed him by the arm, keeping his head above water. Her face had a somewhat smug expression. That was kind of stupid. She thought to herself. As soon as they reached shore she layed him out on the sand to check him. She could tell his arm was broken, but then she checked his breathing. Finding that it was shallow, she found it unnecessary to do CPR but she had to get him to the hospital fast. She ran to her bag and grabbed her cellphone, but discovered that there was little reception here. "D****t!" She swore, realizing what she must do. She looked in Sam's direction and hoped he wasn't paying attention. Leah then hid behind a rock and stripped before transforming into a wolf. On all fours she went to Taylor and placed him on her back, her clothes in her mouth. Ugh, you're heavier than I thought... She didn't worry about him waking up, since she was determined to get him to the hospital before that.
