Le Gasp!
Can't believe I wasn't in on this conversation already... -searches for a non-existant post-
Opinion on Twilight:
.- My opinion on Twilight was that it was a good read. I enjoyed it, mostly because it is about vampires, but also because I knew my all time favorite celebrity Taylor Lautner was in the movie.
Though, I do not think an opinion about a book can be based on the movie cast. It must be based on the book itself and the authors writing.
Opinion on Harry Potter:
.- My opinion on Harry Potter was that it was also a good read and allowed me to create a fantasy world for myself using my imagination and the lyrics that the author created for me in the book. I got lost in those books many times, so altogether I must say Harry Potter was better. I do believe that J.K Rowling is a much better author than Stephanie Meyer, and I can say this because I have read more than one series of Stephanie Meyer's books.
Character Development:
.- Uh, with Character Development, I believe Harry Potter did a better job. I noticed that although there was more time for the characters too grow in Harry Potter, Twilight sort of jumped through them all, especially with Jacob Black.
Plot Development:
.- Hmm... With Twilight, the plot developed smoothly and was a fun read. With Harry Potter, I found the plot more enticing and it gripped me better and I remembered it longer. I can remember the plot from every single book that I have read, but in Twilight, or should I say Eclipse, I have forgotten most of the entire book.... -dies-
.- It is quite obvious then that J.K Rowling is a more powerful writer. -shrugs-
Fan Bases:
.- Fan bases? Uhm.... I don't like to make or take my opinions from other people... I tend to be a very independant thinker, and no matter what anyone else does or says to try and persuade me differently, my opinion will not change unless I see fit.
Public Response:
.- The public response for Harry Potter was a lot more mysterious and exciting then with Twilight. With Twilight, everyone went crazy over the characters, blah blah blah this guys hot this guys not.
What a bunch of crap.
In Harry Potter, people fell in love with the plot. The characters were not made public until many books had already been published, and by then the people had fallen in love with the story, not the characters.
.- One more point for Mrs. J.K.
Certain Characters:
.- Hmm... I believe that in Twilight, were the cast not attractive, no one would have gone to watch the movies or finished reading the series. Sure, I understand Twilight is all about attractive people, but like Harry Potter, perhaps they should have let people imagine first before they set out the grand finale: the cast... I must again bring up the point that it should be about what the author wrote, not the movie cast.
.- In Harry Potter, I also thought that Harry was more interesting than Bella. In fact, the entire cast of Harry Potter, in the book mind you, were more interesting to read about than in Twilight.
.- Mrs. J.K. Rowling pwns.
Morals:
I was never one for morals... xD
Opinion: Harry Potter
Character Development: Harry Potter
Plot Development: Harry Potter
Fan Bases: Twilight - It has a bigger fan base
Public Response: Twilight - Again, more fans and a bigger response
Certain Characters: Harry Potter
Morals: Harry Potter - FTW
