There's this girl in one of my college courses. Nice lady. She converses with me a lot, we both share an undying hatred for our instructor, who is a uber-douche. We're about roughly each others age, too.
I think she might like me. But to let her know that I might be interested and ask her out might come up as a problem. I'm a whitey and she's African-American.
You see, my folks are kind of racist. Not like, "We-hate-them" prejudiced, but it's that kind of subtle prejudice, like being paranoid when black people are around.
Because of that, I ended up in the "just a friend" zone. That's fine, really. I'm kind of a loner and not really looking for a relationship. But the fact that I had to consider the fact that my family and relatives would've lost their complete s**t just because I wanted to date a black woman struck me as really odd, especially in this day and age.
It's probably for the better with the way my family is, but it doesn't seem right at all.

I don't know. Not to try to start anything, but what do you guys think of interracial relationships? A friend of mine says it's not really a good thing, since their offspring would have a hard time fitting in, being biracial. I think this is largely bunk.
