Yuki continued on, picking up rocks at random and checking them out before tossing them back onto the ground. He finally found a good one and loaded it into his sling as he traveled, giving the sling an idle whirl every now and then.

Yuki wandered some more until he heard sounds and saw the grass moving. His sling started spinning faster as he approached until it finally spat the rock out at high speeds towards whatever was unfortunate enough to alert Yuki to its presence.

The rat froze as something made a loud THUMP near it. Maybe if it stayed still, the predator would go away. It stayed very quiet, and very still.

Yuki frowned, clicking his beak in confusion. Was it dead? He didn't hear anything... He moved forwards a bit before picking up another rock and loading it into his sling. He hadn't heard the death sound. He set his sling whirling and moved a bit closer before launching the rock towards where he thought the monster was.

Yuki's guess was spot on. He killed the rat in one blow. It managed one squeak before being crushed and that was that. Yuki finally put his sling away and started searching for treasure and stuff before he continued on.
