Unlike last time, where Yuki spent forever looking for a monster, a monster found him this time. He felt something squish under-talon and looked down. His dagger was promptly out and slashing down even as he leapt off the rat and dart away as fast as he could.

The rat didn't stand a chance. The last thing it knew from this life was that it was busy eating and then it got stepped on. Yuki stood shivering for a moment while he calmed down from the abrupt rush. He finally wiped his blade on some nearby grass and sheathed it before poking around the area in search of treasure. That done, he continued on.
