Ryu Tenkawa
Well, it was a pretty busy week for me, but I tried my best to watch the games this past weekend. First was Cleveland, and I have to say that the Spurs handled them pretty easily. Tony Parker was great again. In fact, he's been consistently good these first few games.

Parker, who I personally made my verbal b***h last season, has shaped up really well over the summer. I was afraid that the European tournament he participated in would tire him out, but I guess all that playing has refocused him. I really like how he's playing. Not only is he driving, but he's got a jump shot. His free throw percentage is up, and he's making smarter decisions. I know it's a little early, but I love what I'm seeing from him thus far.

Against Dallas, our faults showed. Greatly. Our main issue is dictating tempo. I do feel that Dallas did have a size advantage, especially with Dirk Nowitzki and his deep threat. But we lost the tempo, and ended up failing at a game of catch up. Finley seems to need to find himself in the system, though I do feel things were a bit emotional in Dallas for him. Bad game, but it shows that there is still some improvements to be made in our already solid team.

Playing against Chicago was an eye opener to me. I didn't think that the game would be so close. I'm worried that the Spurs old habits may come back to haunt us. You as fans should know what they are: The Choke. We had several leads of 7 points or more, and the Bulls easily cut those leads with quick 3 point runs. They, like Dallas, seemed to be trying to dictate the tempo. When overtime did come, I was confident that the Spurs would close out, them being an awesome overtime team. They delivered the goods, like I thought, and handled their business.

What did you guys think of the past couple of games? I'd love to hear some feedback on my rants as well. Hopefully I'm not boring anyone.

Well, Well, Well,

Houston Rockets. My first thought was Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming, and then I remember T-Mac's 13 points in 35 secs. I still thought that they would beat them, but that thought of "typical Spurs" loomed in the back of my head. I wasnt really all that worried, but then T-Mac showed me why I should be scared. Thankfully the Spurs won and saved me from going insane. All there is left to say is GO SPURS GO!
