A small townhouse located in London is where Hikari resides. Her home consists of two bedrooms, one for herself and one for a guest when the occasion arises, a kitchen/eating area, a living room, two bathrooms, and a small family room.

Hikari apparated back to her only sanctuary, only to collapse onto her bed as sobs wracked her body. She knew she didn't deserve John...She had known, but she had gone along with it anyway. She had been hopeful enough to think that John truly loved her, that she could find true love in a person that wasn't her parents, someone to share the rest of her life with. So much for that one...Her idea of the perfect life with John and Kathryn vanished the moment that John had said the specific words that he had to Hikari, the ones that made it seem like he only wanted her around to be the mother for Kathryn. Remembering this even more clearlyy just made her cry harder. She was so wrapped in her thoughts that she didn't notice the note that an owl had dropped off in her room on her nightstand, the one from the Slytherin student that she ran into while leaving John's house. A letter that would change her life.

Hikari sighed as she worked on dinner. It had been such a stressful vacation. Her mother had been dealing with a lot of stuff so she had spent much of it helping her figure things out. She hadn't even that that much time to spend with John, and it pained her. It stunk, to say the least. Worst of it was, they were scheduled to go back to school soon anyway. Back to teaching, grading, and having very limited time to themselves. She felt bad. She hadn't been there for Kathryn for much of the holiday, and just wasn't sure how the young girl was going to take it. Shaking her head, she finished dinner and put cookies in the oven for dessert. Maybe she would take some over to them after dinner. Hopefully they weren't mad at her.
