so, how long can it take for a vampire to actually awaken? and will they always be aware of it? ALSO, What is it like when you first awaken, like, what kind of things do you go through and is it difficult?

It can take years to awaken, and they will not be aware of it for a while. At first, you go through a sort of puberty like change in which you slowly develop vampiric traits. It becomes difficult after a while, as the needs come into effect and especially during the point where you realize "hey, I'm a vampire...". Well, for some people its hardl; for me, however, I was pretty much like "oh, wow... that explains a lot. neat."
Anyone else who stumbles into this thread, please answer her questions. this would be a good resource once we have a variety of accounts.

mine lasted 5 years.
ive seen another go through 2 months.
i think it varies with how the awakening comes, what can speed it up, and how they handle it.
it took me 2 years to realize what was going on, even with help. it became easier after i tried to fight it.
for me- i had already hit puberty. the extra physical changes question me, and no one had answers.
my mental/spiritual state changed too.
i think it is difficult until you start to understand and learn.
very difficult without the nutrients needed.
my community helped me out. they gave me donors, friends, teachers.
they were always there.
some dont have it as easy.

could you die if you awaken and never figure out what's going on and not get the nutrients you need?or do you just get unexplainably sick and grumpy?

most likely no. since your body changes it slowly develops that nutrient need.

serris94 could you die if you awaken and never figure out what's going on and not get the nutrients you need?or do you just get unexplainably sick and grumpy? Kinda the latter. The grumpiness comes and goes, sometimes randomly and somtimes after a trigger.

i see. i was wondering because people die of malnutrition and it would make sense if the same were to happen for vampires to not getthe nutrients they need.
