You missed quite a bit of other Miyazaki films like The Cat Returns, Nausicaa Valley of the Wind, that one with the pig detective guy...some others. It's been a while, but I love Miyazaki stuff.

It was the only roll I ever saw Cary Elwes in (The Princess Bride, Robin Hood Men in Tights guy) in where he wasn't like, super English.

Lol. I still haven't watched Porco Rosso. A while back a friend of mine lent me this massive Miyazaki dvd collection, but that wasn't one of them.

What I think is adorable is when Miyazaki and John Lasseter (the pixar guy who directed almost all their movies) get together and try to pronounce each other's names^_^

That's not just it. In a lot of his films the girl and guy end up separating, or the messages of taking care of the environment, or themes of war, machinery, fire, etc.
Miyazaki has a lot of recurring themes, but oh well. I still like his films.

I still like his films. Ya, but those things are usual literary touches. The cleaning is a distinctly Miyazaki touch. In fact I briefly toyed with the idea of making a Joe Hisaishi (the usual Ghibli composer) cd or playlist just fer cleanin up round the place^_^ I always feel bad fer the girl's pigtails! Why do they have to go? And how come they're never bothered by it? You never shoot off a gal's hair! bad form! crying But ya, Japanese cartooning without war, environmental messages, or bitter sweet love stories? What the heck would ya have? Sailor Moon?
