Lee triumphantly made his way to the edge of Serpantine and looked out with a gleam on his face. "Finally! i know i have a little bit of a late start with being a trainer but that isn't going to stop me!" He grabbed a pokeball from his bag and through it down letting out his partner chimchar.

"Char!" It exclaimed, seemingly as excited as lee was. The duo began walking away from the city, hoping to find a nice place to begin training. As they walked they seemed to hear something coming from the side. They turned to see a wild pokemon.

After the battle, Lee and chimchar sat down leaning against a stone. "Phew buddy! we did it!" He said as he smiled down at his pokemon. "You did really well out there! lets keep the training up!"

"Chim!" it cheered ready for what ever challenge came there way. They waited for a while to see if they could find another pokemon to battle but so far, nothing.

Deciding to train while they looked, the two began jogging around. Suddenly...

"Hmm...a candy? well..im not that into sweets, but do you want it chimchar?"

Chimchar jumped up and grabbed the candy and shoved it into its mouth joyfully. As it swallowed the candy it started beating its chest as if it had just won a battle. (chimchar gained a lvl)

"Heh, well im glad you liked it chimchar!" Lee and chimchar then continued their search for another pokemon to fight.

While in the pokemon center, Lee over heard some people talking an underground tunnel system that connected the islands to each other. This seemed like a perfect chance to go and train in an unfamiliar terrain and maybe find some different pokemon then what he has seen on the island.

After their rest, the two set off and made their way to where the tunnels entrance was said to be.

Lee arrived at the dojo and found his father training a bunch of third year students. He tried to sneak in and join the ranks of the trainees and pretend he didn't know what he was doing, but his father spotted him right away.

"My son! how are you doing?" He asked as he came down and hugged his son.

"Im doing great dad, I have three pokemon now!" He said as he pulled out his three pokeballs and let out the pokemon. As soon as it was let out, the machop began attacking anything around it, forcing lee to put it back in its ball. "Heh...i just caught that one...."

His father got a large grin, "The best way to get it to listen to you son, is to put it into battle and show it, that it can trust you! Hiro! come here! you will be having a battle with my son!"

"Yes sensai!" Hiro said.

"See son? You may not have noticed but that machop of yours was listening to you, it just deliberatly did the opposite of what you asked it to. I suggest using it in as many battles as you can, and it will figure out it can trust you."

"Very well dad" He pulls his pokedex out and looks at it. "Well i need to head out again, i need to go to route 304 to find a tyrogue, i will return soon!" With that he said his good byes.

He went to the pokemon center and healed his pokemon and took a boat to the main land.
