Well I searched through some of the old threads here in Kapow and couldn't find a thread devoted to talking about book. If I missed it please point me in the right direction

This is a place to talk about any book that you may be reading or have read. Have fun and discuss.

I'll get things started. Yesterday I got a book from the Library call The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, and I have fallen in love with it. Has anyone else read this? If Tell me what you think of it WITHOUT spoilers please I'm only about 200 pages in. xp

Holy crap, dude. I'm reading that too. I'm about halfway through and it's flying by. Hard book to put down.

*raises hand*

Make that three! Its set on my desk as we speak. I got it over the holidays and finished it in under a week. I'll read it again soon I'm done with this stack of books I'm working on.

I give Name of the Wind a perfect 10, which is rare for me. Now I can't wait for the sequel.

i for some reason picked 2009 to be the year to re-read a ton of my old favorites.

i started with reading the Greyhawk adventures: Master Wolf which i adore and i'm not that big into Dungeons and Dragons.

i also read the Diablo novel Legacy of Blood which is a fun read.

right now i am re-reading for like the fourth time Stephen King's IT.

I've read four of the Dresden Files books so far. Can finish off one per 4-hour plane trip, apparently. Fun series.

We own all of those Dresden Files books. I've read every one but the the most recent. I think I left it in the car.

Currently making my way through Nausea. Next up is either Hell's Angels, Pygmy or Crooked Little Vein.

I want to read Crooked Little Vein so badly. gonk In my mind it's kind of achieved a status of "mind-scarring" ability on level with the Whitechapel "I Did Not Need To See That" thread. (Which is kind of like playing Google Image Roulette, only concentrated into one horrible, horrible form.) This is probably not quite true, but anyways I loves me some Ellis and I feel like I'm missing out.

Dresden Files is a fun series. It's kind of become my comfy blanket reading.

Alas, the only thing it looks like I'll be reading for a while is a ton of history books.

DRESDEN FILES RULES JOO!!!!

Currently reading D-Day, June 6, 1944: The Climactic Battle of World War II by Stephen Ambrose and the The Machiavelli Covenant by Allan Folsom.

Just finished The Last Patriot by Brad Thor which was okay but you really have to separate the political ranting from the story. When the author all but washes the feet of pundits like Glenn Beck in the Thank You section you know you're gonna get preached at.

I'm glad to see someone else who's liked this book!

I'm about to start chapter 16, and I've enjoyed it immensely so far. I can't understand why the reviews on amazon have been so critical. They've been brutal. I think its been enjoyable.

(and between us, I originally bought it because of the cover design. It looked bad a**, then I turned it over and whaddya know? The plot sounded great too)

So the follow ups are good too?

I plan to get the next two (?) books, and a fourth will be out in December.
