I've read so many different ideas for what sunlight does to a vampire.
1. It makes them shine like a diamond (yeah right)
2. It weakens them, making them unable to use most of their powers
3. They fall asleep and don't wake up again until dark
4. It causes them to light on fire, and if they remain outside long enough kills them. (although in some stories, the older the vampire the less effect the sun has on them)
Has anyone heard of any other effects sunlight has? And which do you think is most likely?
I like my personal theory, that vampires just have very light sensitive skin and get really bad sun burns really fast. (which would explain the blackened skin, 3rd degree burns)
