Don't know anything about it, maybe one day I can go and check it out, but odds are there are many places where the energy in the air is more dense then other places, people with a lot of energy probily helps

my only possible guess as to "why" it was built was fertile land (despite it's high up in the mountains). Also, if it's anything like the Aztec, Maya, or Olmec, you can put good money on astronomy being involved heavily into it's layout.
Unfortunately I haven't read up much on Machu Picchu, but I have read about Chichen Itza, Teotihuacan, Tikal, Izapa, Tihuanaco, Nazca, and Pumapunku.

Um.. Well, I have no idea. For me this is just that being so High up in the atmosphere makes the air feel heavier because of less oxygen.. I think... Or it could be spiritual. I try to look at things from a skeptical and paranormal view, but not sure about this place...

Machu Picchu was built where it is because of the fertile land. It was great for crops and since it was on a mountain it had a great defense system.

What if Macchu Picchu was built as a last resort? Like an impregnable fortress that was incorporated into their military strategy?
Higher ground is a tactcal advantage, so what if they took it to the extreme and built a whole city complete with herds and flock and farms to be invincible?
