Punishment Styles
Warning: you get 3 of these and then its straight to a temporary ban
Temporary ban: these last 1 month, and for that time you will not be allowed in the guild
Permanent ban: You're kicked out of the guild Permanently.
1. No Godmodding/Power playing
This means you can't simply pull powers out of nowhere, and your character can't be all powerful. In other words: your character is not some god, or super hero, he has flaws and needs to take damage.
Punishment: first offenses will be a warning, second will be automatic ban from the guild
2. We are semi-lit here, act like it
In other words, when you role-play there will be no use of action symbols such as * * or - -. All role-plays will be written in the 3rd person perspective (he/she/a name) For example:
The girl ran screaming through the forest, her heart pounding in her chest and the feeling of exhaustion overwhelming her fragile body, as she sprinted though the labyrinth of vines and roots she caught her pale white bare foot on a twisted root and fell like a heavy sack down and into the oozing mud beneath her. She scrambled in the mud desperately tying to get to her feet though the ooze refused to let her have any chance at getting a grip, she looked over her shoulder to the creature that was coming for her, it's eyes glaring bright red through the murky darkness, its teeth dripping with saliva and its body growing ever closer to where she had fallen.
Also, please have at least 3 - 4 lines in your role-play. It's really not much to ask considering that we are semi literate, and one liners are not acceptable in this community.
Punishment: a warning, after three warnings you might be banned temporarily, it depends on the severity of the situation.
3. Please don't quote
We understand that it makes it easier when posting, but it also takes up space and stretches out the page. It's okay to quote as you post, just make sure you delete the actual quoted part before you post.
There is no punishment for this on the first few occasions, however if it becomes a habit you will be temporarily banned.
4. Treat members and crew respectfully
Any distasteful or offensive comments will be taken seriously. Hate is not tolerated here, and any sign of it could result in a permanent ban. Put aside your personal problems and treat people with respect.
Punishment: depending on the severity it could be anything from a warning to a permanent ban.
5. Swearing will be kept to a minimum
Yes some characters swear a lot. Lets try to just keep it pg-13 rated. We don't mind the occasional cursing, but there are other creative ways of describing those types of feelings. We will be sure to let you know if we see it too much.
Punishment: warning
6. No Cybering
Not only is it against Gaia's rules but its disrespectful to those around you. If you really want to role-play a cyber scene do it over a messenger like AIM or MSN. As stated before we do have minors here.
Punishment: temporary ban - Permanent for repeat offenders
7. Keep OOC comments in the OOC
Its okay to ask a question during a role-play but you must have this in parenthesis or brackets of some sort. Also keep it short. If you want to chat use the OOC room!
Punishment: Warning- only for those who seriously break this rule, we will cut some slack here.
