Anybody a super-nerd like me? With interests in roleplaying of any form or function?

I've never actually played a Shadowrun campaign(normally my nerds and I stick with classic D&D), but I've always wanted to. I just picked up the fourth edition core rulebook today.

So, do you guys like to rp? Tabletop or otherwise?

I've been known to delve into a spot of D&D, SLA and Rifts. My partner currently wants to set up a Call of Cthulhu night, which would be awesome. :p

But if I'm in a silly mood I'll play the D&D board game. XD

I have a s**t ton of 3.0 and 3.5 Edition D&D books on .pdf format on my computer. razz

I also have many of the White Wolf World of Darkness books.

I'm currently involved in a New World of Darkness campaign that's very mage heavy. Everyone in my group is some type of mage.

I've also recently been one of the guinea pigs for a new campaign module my friends are working on. I just did a quickly one-time few hour session to see how feasible their ideas were, and it seems to be working.

Has anyone tried the fourth edition of D&D yet? I keep hearing that it sucks. And the stuff that I've looked at suggests as much.

I'll admit to being a super nerd, though mainly for DnD. About fourth edition I can agree that yeah it is worse but at the same time its not. The problem is that all the aspects are way to simple and theres not alot you can really do or grow into. Though for people just getting into DnD it is much, much easier for them to get into because it is alot simpler which makes it easier to get people who are new to come to a session or two. Plus they usually end up going to 3.5 eventually so its all good. But yeah, 3.5 is infinately better for experienced players.

DnD. Done a few d20 campaigns, 3.5, Ebberon, and now my friends and I play Pathfinder which is basically 3.75.
I've been wanting to DM a Cthulhu Campaign and a Futurescape Campaign for the longest time.
