Private Mill Wilkinson Checking his gear
It was a nice day, something that always made Mill feel better. After moving his family closer to PALCORP he finally had some time to his second-favourite pastime: target-shooting. This one would serve a critical purpose, also: to test the .338 Lapua Magnum he had stored for only so long. It probably had lost the precision it once held, so it needed some re-adjustment. Whistling fenjir songs he loaded the rifle-case to the table with the larger ammo-container. Flipping the locks up he managed to take a look at the piece of equipment that had served him in the past so well. M40. It was in heavy oil for storage, something Mill had forgotten to take care of before leaving. "Helvetti..."
Some minutes later it was wiped clean of excess oil. Practice made perfect, and that was the case with cleaning rifles also. Mill opened the bipod, made sure the magazines worked and then loaded them with the self-tailored .338 rounds. They had worked well with the rifle in the past, now was time to check whether it applied to present also.
