Through many visions and dreams I have come to realize my purpose and I believe it completely. I believe that when the apocalypse does happen (which will be soon enough), The two armies of God and Devil will finally begin the true battle.
Our life in this world depicts which side we are to be drafted to in the next world. Once this world has ended the drafting for both armies will finally be complete.

My destiny is to become a sort of judge/soul collector for the dark army.
When my life ends, I will begin my duties judging souls for purity and devotion, truth, lies, deception, and deciding whether or not they are good enough for the army of the devil.
I believe that I have a great plan in store for me and a true meaning to my life and the hardships I've endured.

This life is a test of the spirit and will ultimately determine the outcome of the next life.

I wouldn't say these beliefs follow any of the religions now existing in this world, and I believe that every religion in this world is greatly flawed.
Seeing is believing and I've seen the future.

Now, for the discussion:
~What do you believe your future has in store for you?
~Do you think this whole thing is absurd?
~Do you believe something entirely different? Explain.
~Do you have any questions for me? I would be happy to answer them.

I believe... I can flyyyyyyyy.
I dunno. Never really gave it much thought, and don't really care. I'm atheist and think that certain people develop interesting "powers" from training their mind, but I see no proof of any higher being of any kind in this universe. People are highly intelligent beings, and we are capable of creating for ourselves our own reality in which a central being or "god" creates order. We twist natural occurrences and realistic coincidences to fit this reality, and by doing so "prove" it's existence. I know that ultimately dark energy will pull the universe and everything inside it apart, atom by atom, but right now no one can tell what will happen to humans.
We'll just have to wait and see, now doesn't that sound scary? That's why humankind has been inventing theories since before the beginning of civilization. We can't stand uncertainty, we must have stability and order.
This isn't an attack on you, by the way. I'm just stating my opinion. sweatdrop

If I had to pick a religion for myself, it would probably be Buddhism. It's got an amazingly beautiful belief system. Love it.

I agree with most of that, but I still feel like there has to be something more to our existence than just to wither away and die.
Plus there had to be someone/thing that created us for this purpose in the first place. s**t doesn't just come from nowhere, not scientifically anyways.

And I do agree with the whole developing "powers" through training the mind and body. We only use a tiny percentage of our mental and physical potential because that's all we need to in order to survive but the potential is lost and with it some of our meaning in life.

Humanity is a sad, sad race. We've become weak and destructive.

People once thought that the world was created in seven days. We assume things before we can prove them, argue when they're disproved, and can only accept truth way after the fact. I don't know how the universe came to be in existence, so I'm not going to assume anything by trying to explain it with a god, because I know that someday someone will find the scientific reason. As for the reason for our existence, that is something I think everyone should invent for themselves. I know that my reason for being here is to enjoy myself, and I think I'm doing a pretty good job so far. smile

That's your reason as an individual, but what about humanity's meaning as a whole. What are we here to accomplish?

That's the beauty of it.

I have a rather cynical view of the universe and our purpose as a whole in it. I do not believe the entire human race as a whole has any real purpose other than to procreate and die off. I actually rather despise the human race as a whole. It is vile, self-centered, and self defeating based on the fact that generally everyone usually thinks that their beliefs are the only truths, which inevitably leads to people clashing over such trivial things, which then leads to violent conflict, and so on and so forth. And my greatest dream is to create an indestructable army of robots, conquer the entire human race, and essentially reform the physical world. Dreams that grand, however, never come true. I hate the human race, but my friends and family are very dear to me, and regardless of who or what they are, I will die for them without question.

As far as how things work when we die, I have many different thoughts on the subject, some of which contradict each other. I believe in an endlessly flowing river of life energy that permeates the universe, connecting us all together, giving everything life, and that our souls are composed of it. I don't have any solid theories on what happens to us when we die. I believe that it is possibly that we become one with this life river, or that we are possibly reincarnated into something completely new, and I believe that possibly we really were created in the image of some omnipotent creature and that we will return to him/her when we leave the material world. I believe that sometimes, whether at our chosing or not, we simply remain as simple spirits and roam the multiverse freely.

On the subject of the life river thing, since we have a direct connection to it, I also believe that we can tap into it for various purposes. I believe we are born with such power, but that over the course of many years, we lose it as we are trained from birth to believe that "magic" and things related to it are lies. Think about it. Animals have the uncanny ability to sense when something bad is going to happen. Perhaps this is because they are more in tune with the universe than we are. And the human brain only uses an average of 6% of it's potential power throughout our entire lives.

But the one thing that I truely believe without a shadow of a doubt, is that chaos is the absolute truth of the universe. We are born out of chaos, and we inevitably will disappear into chaos.

Greed, destructiveness, and conceit are somewhat inherent traits in all humans, yes, but as humans we can also learn to suppress said traits. As unlikely as it may seem, the human race has actually progressed a great deal intellectually from the Stone Age. Look at the philosophers, artists, engineers, and inventors that have preceded us. It's people like Gandhi, Voltaire, Basquiat, and Galileo that give me hope about this world, that humans aren't entirely evil.
The belief that a person's created truths are the only truths stems out of emotions like fear and hate. Fear of being wrong, and the hatred of all that can prove them to be wrong. These two emotions are common even today, but can be ironed out with education and training.

I understand where you are coming from, since such quandries often pass through my mind when I'm thinking about my own beliefs.

I agree that we have progressed significantly since we first began to think freely. However, at the same time, the human race has shown me time and again that they neither care about what impact they have as a whole on each other and their surroundings, nor care about trying to change for the better. The minority of decency within our race is far too outweighed by the majority who succumb to greed and destructiveness. There possibly is hope for us yet, but I just can't see it. Yes, we can learn to supress said traits, but I fear that there aren't enough people in the world who are willing to compromise and do so. Humans fear change, and generally their first reaction is to fight it to the death. This is the main reason why in the past, it has taken great amounts of forced supression and unbending will to change the world for better or worse.

I do not, however, believe that we are born with such dark traits. The world as I see it is not simply black and white. these traits, both good and bad, are bred into us from birth. What is good? What is evil? Do you think that if you asked a newborn child, who has had no connection to any influence other than it's own person and it's surroundings, that it would be able to give a definite answer?

In the end, to me at least, we are a virus. Since we began believing that we were the masters of everything around us, we have done nothing but procreate and destroy. And we are marching towards our own destruction. Perhaps it's simply the nature of the universe. Animals kill each other all the time for reasons that seem to be even more trivial than our own. Either way, it does not appeal to me.

You bring up a very good point here. Then let me say at least that it's not justifiable to hate the human race as a whole. Hate the ones who make it unclean, but it's unfair to hate them all. There are still many, many good people in this world, as full as it is a sham, drudgery, and broken dreams. If the human race does die out in our lifetimes, I only hope that what wrongs we have committed upon this earth will fade away with time.
PostPosted: Fri May 29, 2009 11:24 pm

Yes, it is very unjustifiable to hate humans as a whole. It's one of the many things that I dislike about myself. It's like hating Mexicans or some other minority simply because most of the ones you know or have met are complete dicks. Although I hate to admit it, I'm a perfectionist at heart. I even get pissed off at myself for some of the most idiotic things. The world isn't perfect, nor will it ever, and it's flaws are one of the main things that make it beautiful and seem real. There's nothing exciting or meaningful in a perfect world.

At least I can honestly claim that I'm not racist towards one minority in the traditional sense. I hate all types of people equally.

I believe that they will fade. Time heals all wounds, they say.

Being asatru, and not christian, I blelieve that Fenrir's chains will break and Norway will suffer through three long years of winter right before ragnarok happens. Most of our gods will die but Yddsdrasil and two humans will survive after the rest of us are naught but oblivion. Yay.

My decendant is from Mayan and Native American beliefs~

Well, The Mayan culture predicted every eclipse and many many otehr things within 30 seconds of it happening, no more no less, tehy were always off by exactly 30 seconds.

The Mayans also predicted that each year we loose anout 1/2 a second in time. The Mayan calender suddenly stops at 2012. I dont know about the world ending but according to Mayan prediction thats when time runs out which is a little scary to think about, especially since I finish highschool 2012~

I dont want to believe in Apocalypse but it might just possibly happen. Lots of cultures believe this and actually I'm almost sure it will happen but i dont think its the end of "everything" maybe just a restart from scratch or an earthly defense to wipe most of humanity, heal itself, and then try and keep huma control and population to a smaller extent since we have pretty much destroyed most of this planet.

I mean with all this technology I honesty think humanity has almost de-evolved. We cant figure out the pyramids, we cant seem to fixate on what the hell Stonehenge is, and ect
think about all the vast cultures from way before. Without all this technology they have created the most fascinating and greatest cities and places around the world and somehow we cant seem to do that anymore without the help of technology.

got off subject from what I originally said but still...

Also just to kinda throw it out there... Some people that say they are Vegetarians because they dont 'kill life' or they dont want to hurt something that 'feels' or w/e... well youdo realize plants are alive and feel too right~? i undrstand if you dont want to hurt and animal but still plants can 'feel' too they just dont have faces to show it~ ^^;
im not a vegetarian i love meat and fruit alike~ but really plants can feel pain too ^^;;;

Seems everyone's going crazy about 2012 lately. It is true that the calender stops right then, but I wonder if it really means anything. Maybe the Mayans got tired of predicting the future of the skies, or they had to stop for political reasons, or they just figured that they would calculate more as time passed. There could be so many different reasons for why they stopped, because after all they would have had to stop somewhere eventually. 2012 lies at the end of a certain sun cycle, if I remember correctly, so it may have just seemed like a good place to leave off.

I don't think technology has caused people to de-evolve. Rather, the civilizations that built these monuments were so remarkable that without written records to study they prove very difficult to figure out. A lot gets lost in a time lapse of several thousand years. You may also be forgetting the fact that the ancients had technology of their own. It's just that the tools they worked with have not necessarily been discovered yet.
Or the aliens could have helped them.
