Hello,

My name is Rhage. I wanted to contribute to Anti_Bad every way I could, so I made this!

I've noticed that the only way to stop a flaming circle is to just stop flaming. What we need to do is just talk out of the situation and basically, if it must be so bluntly said, outsmart the flamers.

One fine example is when I stumbled upon a forum where there was a boy who was flaming one of my favorite bands. The topic was, "10 reasons why MCR sucks"
Now, these guys were my heroes, I most certainly DID NOT appreciate having some jerk flame them, and before I would do something I would regret, I found a girl's response. She stated intelligently that he was stating only opinions and that it was completely inappropriate.

[example from forum]
"2. They can't write" was what he said.
And she replied, "Whoever created this, I'd like to see what you can write so I can compare it to MCR's lyrics. Every last one of their songs has such a significant meaning to it. I'm sorry if your head is too full of lyrics like "you better stay outta my hood or I'll shoot you" to comprehend such mastery of their writing styles but that's something you'll have to deal with on your own."

And after that, there were no more flamers. She took each "fact" and had something intelligent to reply, it's not about who's right or wrong, it's about showing that you have tact and understanding for everyone's views.

So, if you ever find yourself in this kind of situation, follow these steps:

1. If you disagree with what is being said, stay calm, when you reply, people can sense your tone in the way you write it and how it is being said.

2. Refrain from swearing, entirely, whatsoever, do not do it. It only makes your logic sound irelevent and as though you are only entitled to your views.

3. Restate what you are trying to say. Instead of saying, 'no way! you're so wrong!' try, "I'm understand that's how you see it, but I believe..."

4. Make sure you address both sides of the fence. If you just point out what you think is right, then people will think you are bias and nothing will be settled.

5. Finally, make sure that when addressing this person, to use proper grammar and spelling, basically, look fancy. I hate to say it, but most of these people are idiots, and if you overpower them with enlightenment, they won't have anything better to do but to find a dictionary and find a bigger word than what you just used. lol

So here's a test.
Say there is a boy who is flaming people with disabilities, he says that they shouldn't exist and is carrying on with his ideas and views. Use the five steps to tell him what you think.
