Alrighty, so, here's the deal. I'm a big Gundam Seed fan so I thought it'd be pretty cool to have a GS RP here. So, here it be. Eeeeenjoy!
The Story
Cosmic Era 73. The hard-bought peace forged between the PLANTs and the Earth Alliance has been shattered. In the aftermath of the Armoury One Attack and the Break the World Incident the Earth Forces and ZAFT have once again been drawn into war. Within the first few weeks, decisive strikes are made by both sides. An Earth Forces fleet launches a nuclear attack on the PLANTs, but it fails. ZAFT then performs a massive orbital drop operation to reinforce their bases on Earth. After that, however, the momentum slows to a stalemate. Against the stars of space, small patrols of Earth Forces and ZAFT warships range far and wide, patrolling for the enemy. Whenever these patrols cross paths, the emptiness of space is filled with the sound and lights of gunfire as warships and Mobile Suits from both sides trade fire. Soldiers of each side fight for a cause they believe to be just. But are those that drive the war on motivated by true justice, or is something far more sinister behind this newest conflict?
The Factions
PLANTs/ZAFT: The people of the PLANTs are the Co-ordinators. Their genes have been altered in the early stages of their embryonic development to eliminate the risk of fatal diseases or birth defects, as well as to allow them to learn more, do more and become stronger than the average human. ZAFT (the Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty) represents the standing military of the PLANTs. While numerically they are outmatched by the Earth Forces, Co-ordinator soldiers are highly skilled and can prove more than a match for their Natural counterparts on the field of battle. While most Co-ordinators are only interested in fighting now to defend there homeland, there are still those in the ranks of ZAFT that believe it is about time the Co-ordinators take their place as the new dominant race of the world.
The Earth Alliance/OMNI Enforcer: The Earth Alliance is a group of nations comprised primarily of the Atlantic Federation, the Eurasian Federation and the Republic of East Asia. The people of these nations are called Naturals, people born without any genetic tampering. OMNI (Oppose Militancy and Neutralize Invasion) Enforcer, more commonly known as the Earth Forces, represents the military of the Alliance. They have access to a number of powerful warships and mobile suits that can prove even a match for ZAFT in the hands of skilled pilots. It is known that the governments of the Earth Alliance, particularly the Atlantic Federation, have been infiltrated by the terrorist group Blue Cosmos, who believe that all Earth will not be safe until the very last Co-ordinator is destroyed. Some believe that there may be a force even more sinister than Blue Cosmos lurking in the shadows. Still, that does not mean that there is no honour to be found at all in the frontline soldiers of the Earth Forces.

Choose Your SideIn this RP you can choose to take the side of ZAFT and fight for the defence of the PLANTs, or enlist in the Earth Forces and fight for the safety of Earth. You can choose to be a ship captain or a mobile suit pilot. The only real ranks that exist in ZAFT are Captain (for ship commanders) and Commander, for those who lead teams. ZAFT combat units are named for their commander (ie the MacTavish Team). ZAFT pilots also wear different uniforms depending on their skill and rank. Aces and in some cases Commanders wear red, regular soldiers wear green, Senior Captains or Commanders wear white, Ship Captains and other officers (Commanders, Executive Officers, etc.) wear Black. Earth Forces units follow a more rigid style of naming, usually they are given numbers (ie the 6th Fleet, the 54th Mobile Suit Battalion). The Earth Forces also follow a stricter and hierarchical chain of command, this link will help explain it: http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/OMNI_EnforcerFurther information about mobile units and ships can be found here at: http://www.gundamofficial.com/worlds/ce/destiny/mechanics/index.htmlI also realize that I haven’t included Orb in here. This is because they don’t exactly have a space force (three nigh-indestructible ships does not a fleet make). However, we may relocate to Earth at some point, so stay tuned... A note on suits: The type of suit you pilot and the level of customization should be appropriate for your rank and the setting. A regular ZAFT green would not pilot a GOUF Ignited with a custom Lime Green paint job. This also means that as long as we’re in space, suits like the BuCUE, that are specifically designed for land warfare, are right out. This RP will primarily focus on the common soldiers, not supremely talented yet emotionally distraught teenagers. I’d prefer if Gundams were kept to a minimum, but it wouldn’t be any fun at all to eliminate them entirely. Anyone who wishes to pilot a Gundam can defer to me, but be warned, it will have to be prototype, in the testing stage and it can't be so powerful that the enemy may as well not bother sending anyone out to fight against you. That wouldn't be too much fun either.

Da Rulez
No god-moding, as per usual No “Freedom-ing” (and by this I mean there is to be no piloting of an insanely powerful mobile suit that can effortlessly own every single enemy it faces.) More than one character is fine, but if you can’t keep track...well...let’s just say that during the next maintenance run, a few wires might get crossed that by all means should not. Literacy makes posts a lot easier to read and so I'd prefer if everyone made an effort at correckt speling n gramer (my humourous departures from said rule notwithstanding.) Also, as this is a Gundam SEED RP, I don't think it's exactly unfair to expect that you have at least a basic knowledge of the series. And Finally.... Have fun!

Accepted Profiles:ZAFTGaian Name: MacTavishW3 Name: Donald "Don" Brodie Age: 24 Gender: Male Affiliation: ZAFT Rank: ZAFT White, Commander Mobile Suit/Ship: Brodie pilots a Slash ZAKU Phantom with a custom dark green paint job. (only dark green) Weapons: As his personal weapon, Brodie carries a 9mm pistol and a standard issue ZAFT combat knife. His suit is equipped with a beam rifle, a pair of shoulder mounted beam gatling guns, two shoulder mounted shields, a pair of beam tomahawks, four anti-suit grenades and a large beam axe. Appearance: Brodie is very tall and lanky. He has untidy brown hair and a pair of straight sideburns that reach his jawline. He also has a scar running from the middle of his forehead to the top of his right eyebrow. Biolography: Don Brodie is a veteran of the First Bloody Valentine war. He joined the military soon after the Bloody Valentine Tragedy and was instantly recognized for his potential. He successfully completed the officer training program (one of the top of his class) and was assigned the Nazca-class warship the Dallaire as his flagship. He has seen battle both in space and on land, having served at the Grimaldi Front, in Operation Spitbreak, the attack on Port Panama, and the final battle at Jachin Due. He now takes on the dubious task of patrolling the far reaches of space for Earth Forces activity with his task force consisting of the Dallaire and two Laurasia-Class vessels designated Marchal and Anyidoho. Brodie is a capable commander with a knack for space combat. He can be a tough and fierce opponent, but when off the battlefield he is very friendly with a healthy sense of humour. Skills: Brodie can fight well both on land and in space. He is also more than capable of defending himself when not piloting his mobile suit. He additionally has an eye for tactics. Other: Brodie lost his sister in the Bloody Valentine tragedy. While this has not caused him to hate all Naturals (as it has some), Brodie will never show mercy to any enemy attacking with nuclear weapons. Gaian Name: Si_Valael Name: Tycho Yukimura Age: 25 Gender: Male Affiliation: Zaft Rank: Red Suit, Spy Rank Unknown Mobile Suit/Ship: Talon Gundam
(Can transform into mobile armour) Weapons: Tycho carries two machine pistols, one in a hip holster, the other concealed in on his ankle. He also has a small knife concealed in his sleeve. His Talon gundam is armed with duel pulse fire lasers mounted just behind the wrist and under the shields, two laser cannons mounted on legs (mounted on bottom of fuselage in mobile armour form) one beam saber, and micro missile launchers mounted on legs, shoulders and back. Appearance: (civilian clothing) Biolography: Tycho was raised as a spy for Zaft at an early age and was one of the first ones to be planted in the Earth Forces at the start of the first Bloody Valentine war. Working his way near the top of a mobile armour cadet unit he was able to gain information on the test pilot program of the original five gundams. It was in part to his information that allowed the gundams to be located by ZAFT.
At the end of the first war Tycho was recalled back to the PLANTS. Knowing little beyond the military due to his early training he chose to stay a part of ZAFT. However he was eager to live the childhood that had been denied to him he searched for an offer of adventure, the search leading him to apply for the mobile suit test pilot program. With his experience with piloting Mobile armours Tycho was chosen as the prototype Talon gundam. With the breakout of the second war the mobile suit is rushed into service and deployed to the Brodie team via a high speed mobile suit transport pod. Skills: Stealth and espionage, mobile armour ace, knowledge of Earth Forces tactics. Other: Tycho acts almost childish most of the time after being freed from his role as a spy, however, when the chips are down he can be deadly serious. The Earth ForcesGaian Name: MacTavishW3 Name: Mark Gerard Age: 27 Gender: Male Affiliation: Earth Forces Rank: Gerard is a Major in the 35th Independent Mobile Suit Battalion Mobile Suit/Ship:
Gerard pilots a Windam with the Aile striker pack attached for more mobility. The suit is customized with his rank badge (two yellow bands) painted onto the shoulders. Weapons: Gerard arms himself with a 9mm pistol and an EF80 assault rifle and bayonet. His suit is armed with a CIWS system of four gatling guns (used more for intercepting missiles than attacking other suits), a pair of beam sabres, a beam rifle, a pair of "Stiletto" class anti-armour rockets, and an anti-beam shield. Appearance: Gerard is tall and brawny, with short, close-cropped black hair. He is clean shaven and wears a pair of rectangular glasses. He occasionally dons a flak jacket and helmet when fighting on foot. Biolography: Mark Gerard was born in former Canada in what is now the Atlantic Federation. He joined the EF infantry as a Lieutenant in the aftermath of ZAFT's Operation Urebros during the last war, but quickly found his platoon was obsolete when matched up against ZAFT's mobile suits. When the EF put their first mobile suits into production, Gerard joined the Mobile Suit Corps and through his skill achieved the Rank of Captain. With the 35th MS Battalion, Gerard has fought in the Third Battle of Victoria, the Battles of Boaz and Jachin Due as well as the most recent space battle near the PLANT homeland. Gerard’s battalion is now stationed with the 16th Reconnaissance Squadron, consisting of the Nelson-Class battleship the Wellesley and the Drake-Class escorts Picton and Craufurd. He now patrols the far reaches of space for ZAFT activity. Skills: Gerard is a skilled mobile suit pilot, but he still retains the skills learned while training as an infantryman. He is a master of squad-based tactics. Other: Gerard believes in honourable combat, and sees the use of nuclear weapons and the policies of Blue Cosmos as a stain on the honour of the Earth Forces.

Commander Don Brodie checked his watch. The new addition to his team was supposed to be arriving shortly. He pulled the black cuff of his white Commander's uniform back over his timepiece and looked around the hanger of his team's flagship the Dallaire. His ZAKU and his team's GuAIZs sat in pristine repair for the first time since the Battle of Aprilius. He thought on the new mobile suit and pilot that were to be arriving. It was one of those "Gundams", mobile suits that some said were unbeatable. In the right hands, maybe, thought Brodie, although he felt proud that his team had been singled out to recieve this model. The "Talon" it was called, but that was all Brodie had been allowed to know until the suit and pilot arrived. "Where do you think the Council finds the money to pay for these Gundams, Seamus?" he asked the short, blonde haired Captain Queenan, the Dallaire's executive officer. "Don't know, sir," Queenan shook his head, "Seems governments always have cash to spare for bigger and better weapons." "They do indeed," Brodie nodded, "I wonder if the Chairman's going to find the dough to knock out another 'Freedom' before the war's out." "Wouldn't surprise me, sir." Queenan grinned, "Except, knowing our luck it'd probably end up in the hands of some impossibly talented teenager who will use it to attack both sides." "Maybe, if the real Lacus Clyne ever shows up again," chuckled Brodie. "You don't buy into her performances either, eh?" "If the last war was any indication she's not one to be made a puppet of the government." "Careful, sir," the Captain warned half-mockingly, "Word gets back to the Homeland that you've been talking like that, they'll probably transfer the whole team planetside." "Maybe," the Commander laughed, "In any event, it's not our job to think on that kind of political BS. For now, let's just concentrate on keeping an eye on the Earth Forces and greeting this new pilot of ours." "Transport pod detected at Orange Bata 6, distance 3000." the ships communication's officer announced over the intercom. "Ready the hanger to recieve it!" Brodie commanded. All hands made ready, and a a few minutes later the airlock doors opened to reveal the pod. A brown haired man wearing a red ace's uniform descended a ramp from the pod, stopped and saluted Brodie. The Commander returned the salute and then offered his hand to the young man. "You must be Tycho Yukimura," he smiled, "I'm Commander Don Brodie, pleased to have you with us."

Tycho had been traveling in the pod for what seemed like months and so was incredibly relieved when the seal finally broke, allowing fresh air to enter the pod. Pushing himself out into the hanger he descends the ramp, his keen eyes taking in every detail of the hanger. Spotting the ranking officers he quickly matched their faces to their personal profiles provided to him. Stopping a few strides away from the white suited officer he throws a crisp salute, hesitating only slightly when the commander offers him his hand before shaking it. "Thank you Commander Brodie." Turning to a green clad woman beside the ranking officers, probably an aid of some sort, he gives her a rogue-ish smile as he takes her hand as she follows the commander's lead. Instead of shaking it he bows slightly and kisses the top of her hand lightly in a more traditional greeting. He knew it might not be the militarily correct way of doing things but he knew it cause some gossip amongst the ship, which was always a good change of pace for a deep space unit.
Turning his attention back to the commander he moves to stand on the opposite side of him from the captain. Facing the pod he watches as it is moved towards an empty mobile suit bay and is deconstructed to allow the Gundam to be retrieved and put into the alcove. The sight of the suit brought a smile to his lips as he watches the crew's reaction. "Sure is a piece of work isn't it. This thing will put the Zaku and anything the earth has to shame in terms of speed."

Brodie cocked an ammused eyebrow at the pilot's greeting to the ship's helmswoman, Isabella Castellucio. Got a ladies man, eh? he thought, Well, at least he's not dull. This might be a bit of fun after all. "Well, I can see you're going to get along with the crew just fine," the Commander laughed. Brodie then watched intently as the Gundam was unloaded by the deck crew. It certainly was a sight. One couldn't look at it without being impressed. "I have no doubt that this is a finely made MS," he responded to the pilot's musings, "But I've always believed that the stongest made suit will only ever be as good as it's pilot. It takes a skilled pilot to make the most out of the machinery and weapons. But having read your dossier I realize that I don't exactly need to worry about you in that regard! Well, welcome to the Dallaire." Brodie went on to introduce Tycho to the ship's four other pilots: green coats Jack Tiwari and Kirk Donnelly, and reds Amy Braddock and Sarah Romanenko. "Well try to get you out to the Anyidoho and the Marchal at some point to introduce you to the pilots there, hopefully sometime before we get into combat. But today we'll just focus on the Dallaire.." Brodie spent the next little while showing Tycho around the ship and introducing him to the crew. "And here's your sleeping quarters," he said when they'd finally finished, "Do you have any Questions?"

Tycho salutes the green suits and shakes the hands of all the pilots as Brodie introduces them. Once again he compares their faces to the ones he has seen in the profiles for the ranking officers in the battle group. Both Jack and Kirk were competent pilots with a few live combat kills each, however, they had not done anything particular to stand out. The red suits on the other hand were a different breed of pilot. Amy was seemingly timid and shy when one first looked at her, but her psych profile made him well aware that she was anything but restrained in combat. In fact she had a reputation for being a cold blooded warrior, not hesitating to shoot down an enemy that had made a mistake. The second red coat, Sarah, could have been accurately described as yin to Amy's yang. The light haired girl was in her late teens and had an extremely cheery look on her face.
After greeting the pilots Tycho and the commander began the tour of the ship. Gym, cafeteria, pilot ready room, bridge, all of them seemed to be in pristine order, a good sign with regards to this commander. As they made their way through the halls Tycho's old training kicks in, memorizing every corridor he passed through and began to calculate the fastest root between each key area of the ship. The tour ended with Tycho's new quarters, opening up the door he takes a look at the quarters. Spacious for a room on a combat ship, it had a single bed and a simple chair and desk with embedded computer screen. The first thing he did after stepping in was turn around to the door pad and inputting a quick series of commands setting up a new and much stronger security key for entrance to the room. Turning back to the commander he drops his travel bag. "They'll do nicely commander. As for questions, I was wondering when I might be able to put in some time for my first run of field testing for the Talon. I'm eager to put it though its paces in deep space."

"I don't see any problem with that," Brodie nodded, "Whenever your ready you can take the Talon out. I'll just be sure to notify the Marchal and the Anyidoho that you're going out." Brodie walked with Tycho to the bridge and alerted the communications officer, a shorter man of African descent named Elliot Morgan. "Elliot, notify the deck crew to get Tycho's MS ready for launch."

Tycho looks around the compact bridge as the commander makes arrangements for his MS to be launched. Turning to the younger man he throws a quick salute while giving him an overly cheerful grin. "Thank you sir!." With that he kicks off the deck, rotating backwards until he's parallel with the floor before kicking off the back of the captains chair. This move allows him to float quickly out of the bridge while looking completely comfortable. The whole move only takes about a second to pull off, showing extreme skill in his ability to move.
Tycho makes his way quickly to the hanger bay, arriving only slightly annoyed about getting turned around int he hallways. By the time he arrives the Talon is already being transferred into the launch catapult. Waving at the mechanic as he dashes across the hanger floor he says a word of thanks just before dawning his helmet and leaping off the magnetized floor and sailing over to the open cockpit. Once in he quickly straps himself in and beings the power up sequence. He is almost done his preflight when a sudden jolt tells him the gundam now hangs suspended in the zero g catapult. A few more buttons brings the suits engines online and begin to throttle up. As the catapult lights up Tycho flicks a switch on his helmet dropping the polarized visor and opens his comm line. "This is Tycho Yukimura, Talon Gundam. I'm taking o-" Before he can finish the sentence the lights of his cockpit flicker out. "Oh come on! Stupid hardware, interrupting my coolness during my first take off..." Tycho continues to mumble as he reaches underneath the console, fiddling around with some wires until the cockpit lights spring back to life. A quick scan of the displays shows his comm line was still open and broad casting, causing his cheeks to redden slightly. "Ummm, sorry bridge, please disregard my last transmission..."
Settling back into his seat his hands come to rest on the familiar stick and throttle assembly. "Alright, lets try this again. This is Tycho Yukimura, Launching!" Goosing the throttle the red suited pilot is forced into his seat as his suit accelerates forward. Once free of the launch way and umbilical cord Tycho begins a slow loop back towards the ship. Once he is close enough to give the ship a good view he presses the center button on his console activating his Phase shift armour, transforming the suit from a dull grey colour to its white, black and gold colour scheme.

Brodie chuckle at the pilot's failed dramatic moment and wondered to himself why so many ZAFT pilots felt so inclined to announce their departures in such an audacious fashion. He wondered if pilots in the Earth Forces did the same thing and then made a mental note to try it out sometime. He and Queenan looked out the bridge as Tycho powered up the phase shift in front of the bridge. "Impressive," he mumbled to himself. He then turned to Elliot, "Notify the hanger on a closed channel to prepare my ZAKU. We'll let him get the hang of it out there and then see if he's up for a little sparring mach." "Yes, sir."

Major Mark Gerard stretched his neck as he sat on the bridge of the Wellesley and looked out across the stars in front of him. I wish they'd kept me on the ground he thought to himself. Back on Earth his team had at least been transferred to wonderful, scenic locations. Up in space however it was just stars, stars, stars and, would you know it, more stars. "Everything alright, sir?" asked Lieutenant Todd McCreary, the ship's lanky, bespecticled captain. "Just a little bored is all, McCreary," Gerard sighed, "At this point I might actually welcome a ZAFT attack just to break the monotony. I wish I was back on Earth." "Really, sir?" McCreary sounded surprised. "You like it up here?" "I do, sir," the Lieutenant nodded, "Just thinking about the expanse, the weightlessness, the lack of boundaries, I love it out here." "Guess that's why you joined the space forces." "Indeed it is," the younger, brown haired man replied, "And if I'm still alive when this is all over, I'm going to get my shuttle pilot's license and experience it without having to kill people." "That's a very idealistic goal, Mac." Gerard half scolded. "Maybe," McCreary shrugged, "Nothing wrong with a little optimisim every now and then." "I guess not," Gerard allowed himself a grin, "Well, you're more than capable of handling the ship Mac, so I'll leave you in charge up here for a bit. I'm going to go get some shut eye." "Right-o, sir," McCreary nodded. "Let me know if we run into anything."

Tycho started his test flight with a few simple maneuvers, getting a feel for the newly overhauled engines' performance in complete zero G. A few minutes later, once he is satisfied with their handling he opens comm lines with the flag ship once more. "This is Talon Gundam to Dallaire, do you have any decoys, mobile targets or anything of that sort?" A short pause fills his headset before Elliot replies. "We do have something of that sort, we received a load of dud corrithose missiles with our last supply shipment. I'll patch you though to Weapons control now." Smiling Tycho slowly brings his mobile suit back in front of the carrier, syncing up their speeds a few hundred meters distant. A moment later a gruff voice greets his ear. "This is Frank Votz, weapons, I hear you have a request." Tycho smiles "On your mark if you could fire some of those dud corrinthose varying along Blue 5, Orange 4 and 1. I'll leave the timing up to you, just remember I'm trying to test the limits of this machine so don't go to easy on me."
A few moments later a puff of smoke signals the first launch. Firing up the thrusters the Talon quickly swings around to follow the missile as it travels aft of the ship. The mobile suits powerful thrusters allowing it to catch up easily. Bringing up the targeting system he locks the missile and squeezes the trigger, a split second later the suits arm swinging up to bring the dual repeaters into line. A three shot burst leaps from the barrels, the first and last pass just wide of the missile but the second strikes home turning the small rocket into a quickly dissipating pink cloud. Before Tycho can even smile his sensors register two more launches. Settling into his pilot seat and setting his face he kicks the throttle up once more, sending the Talon tearing after them.

Brodie watched impressed as Tycho destroyed the missiles and tore after the next ones. "Votz," he said, turning to the green uniformed weapons officer, "Give him a couple more missiles to play with and make it a challenge for him. Seamus, take control of the ship, I'm launching. Elliot, notify the hanger." "Yes, sir," they replied. Settling into his dark green slash ZAKU Phantom, Brodie checked that all his systems were green and his weapons were loaded. He dialled down the power on his beam weapons so that they would shock the other suit without damaging it. "Alright Tycho," the commander muttered to himself as his suit powered up, "Show me why I was impressed with your dossier." "All ready for launch, sir," Elliot informed him. "Right-o," Brodie stretched his neck, "Let's have a try at one of those dramatic launches." He coughed and inhaled and then yelled out in his aggressive command voice, "Don Brodie, ZAKU, takin' 'er out!!" Brodie was breifly pushed back against the seat as the linear catapult sent him forward into the vastness of space. "Hah," he chuckled, "That was kind of fun." Tapping into the ZAKU's targeting system he locked onto the Talon. "Ready or not," he muttered.
